Appalling app. It's a guessing game every time whether it will work or not. Frequently have to force it to stop and clear data to unfreeze it. I use it as little as possible

It has gotten way better this year. I appreciate the fact that relevant data has been added to the app. One thing that would be of service would be downloading receipts for transactions such as transfers. I had to complete a transfer via my banking app in another institution because the BOI doesn't have that option.

The app just ok!!👎 Had the Ulster bank app before this one and it was and still is way easier to use and much more user friendly, the Ulster bank app is 100% better!! An update on my last review, the app in the last 6 months is after improving alot, more user friendly and more secure, fairplay!!👍

App is clunky and slow. The old app was much quicker. The features that are available are not intuitive to find. It does the job but the user experience is not good.

I had the staff in our local branch install it for me before it got closed permanently. Recently i was warned that unless i update my phone the app will stop working. Not so great. The app has become essential since you have closed all the local branches

This app shows Android 8 and above required but I'm getting pop-ups that from 1 July Android 11 is minimum. Unfortunately my device is stuck with Android 10. That's a pretty nasty decision to drop support for three system generations at once!!!

This app is okay, it's not at fault for the fact that other banks can transfer your money from one account to another almost instantly but BOI takes days. The app itself is fine, but it's nowhere near where it needs to be for a modern banking app. Thank you Declan for your response on behalf of BOI, it is unfortunately inaccurate. A BOI to BOI transfer made on Friday morning from myself to myself did not arrive until 8pm on Monday....roll on the SEPA instant payment scheme in 2025!

annoyingly slow, especially when approving of payments. had many issues with my pin such as it telling me my pin was incorrect for no reason forcing me to change it. not a convenient and streamlined banking app. making payments to people/adding payees is quick and easy though.

App ok for getting balance, setting standing up orders and direct debits. Should be able to leverage app e.g. use existing AML/KYC data to open say a deposit account. Search facility is next to non existent; cannot search by amount or payee, just transaction category. For example, you need to call up every single DD to find your gas bill payments, instead of searching for your supplier. Also, too many code entries and swipes to set up payments.

The ability to login is not appearing on the app. Just the background image loads. I try to log into a browser and it tells me to approve login using an app. And when I try to approve using the app, it just opens a blank white screen.

App is very poor in comparison to revolut and ulster bank. Cannot search by transaction. Biometric log in still requires a pin code most of the time, rendering it useless. No notifications when card is used, like revolut A really clunky, poor app.

Becoming nearly unusable. When signing in, the screen takes ages to load despite strong wifi. Compared to other bank apps, design and functionality poor. Transfer cut-off times of mid afternoon and no transfers on weekends plus lack of sepa instant payments a huge disadvantage. Overall , it's a good way to monitor your accounts but not the bank in your pocket that others provide.

Terrible, outdated and clunky app with limited functionality. It works, but nowhere near a standard you would expect from a major national bank. Reflective of entire online banking experience with Bank of Ireland, even if you log in from a computer - but at least there you have slightly more functionality. Update: App is still very basic, but mostly functional. No way to schedule a monthly transfer to another SEPA bank, despite what response below says it's still not possible to a non-Irish bank

Slow, clunky. Difficult to find how to do things, particularly payments. It does work but a very long way from what it should be. We moved from ulster bank when they closed and the functionality, ease of use and intuitive responsiveness was way ahead of bank of Ireland

The app is really poor. Design despite the BoI rebrand is still inconsistent years later. The 3DS notifications don't come through when you're logged into the app - you need to force close and then only are you presented with a "Pending transactions" option on the login screen. You have to enter your PIN number an incredibly ridiculous amount of times, followed by an unnecessary swipe action? Paying off your BOI credit card takes days, however the money leaves your current acc immediately.

Using on android. Clunky and slow, when clicking on transactions it only goes to the transaction your clicking on, on the 2nd attempt - there's no reason for this - first time it reverts to the transactions page. Not all the details of a transaction are on the statements - not helpful. Clicking on a statement to print/download, same warning message comes up, and is v slow to close, so you don't know whether to click again or not - unnecessary hard work. I suggest the developers try using the app

Does basics but could be better with user experience design & incorporating feedback already shared in reviews, e.g. Searching - can't filter basics like text, amount, or payments "in" only. Scrolling - prompted with "Show more" multiple times and each time brought back to the top. Transactions details - can't view ref, descriptions, message. Biometrics not supported. Don't get notificiation of web login authentication if app is open, need to restart. Entering both PIN + swipe is overkill.

I used to just call my bank manager and get things done in five minutes. Then came 365 which wasn't too traumatic. Switching from 365 to the digital app was a nightmare aggravated by a phone lost in transit. Without phone could not us app or 365. However my daughter recently helped reset with a new number across d pond. That is it took two highly intelligent women to restore the app to full use. Now it works just fine, easier than Ulster 😭 but no biometrics thanks!! But if this phone is lost🤯!

Even if used for login to online bank and payments confirmations it doesn't fit the purpose - crashes with no good reason leaving without access to the bank account until calling the Customer support (which can take a while to get through!) and uninstalling/re-installing/re-registering manipulations. Absolutely unreliable as you can lose an access to the bank account when you need it most and spend a lot of time to get things up and running again.

Does the basics but nothing more. I've been with Bank of Ireland for quite a few years, and have finally decided to switch. The app does the basics like sending payments and viewing your balance but severly lacks in industry standard features right now. Unfortunately, it still feels like I'm using an app from 10 years ago. Unless BOI significantly and completely rework their online banking and app, I don't see them attracting many new users in the future. They need to listen to customer feedback
