It has been helpful for having the ability to view in-class presentations and helpful suggestions when writing a paper or having access to prior research. As a detailed person, it is difficult for me to keep up with a large majority of concepts, and I am grateful that this program has been used to provide examples of articles pertaining to past concepts I have been exposed to since I began my college career as a Freshman in the fall semester of 2013. Before the brightspace pulse, it was D2L

Very poor design for exam taking. The submit button is right near the "next" button for the next question and I know myself as well as a number of my classmates have accidentally hit the submit button instead of next in the middle of an exam. So we lost points and were not able to retake it. Also, you should be able to go back to previous questions. Poor design.

I thought this app would make looking at assignments a lot easier. But that's not the truth unfortunately. I can't upload jpeg files straight from my phone so I have to email myself the files and waste time doing it on my laptop. Also i can't enlarge the videos my teachers post, even when I turn my phone to landscape. I want to like this app but I can't. It's only usable on laptops or on my phones actual browser and that defeats the purpose of the app to be honest 😒

Works great! It is basically a interactive map of your course shell and a vehicle for announcements/grade updates. I don't mind that it relies on links to the website, because the integration feels pretty seamless. Love the Grade Updated notification and how it makes you slide to see the grade. It feels kind of exciting. D2L works great when your professors know how to fully take advantage of its features, and this carries over to how your courses display in the Pulse app as well.

My school uses the D2L in Brightspace and it's really easy to navigate. I only wish the app acted like an app and not a web api. Notifications f iui r due assignments would be nice. Quizzed within the app would be helpful. Can there be an easier to access your email, discussions and chat within the app and not just the website? I think it would be more functional, versatile, and more intuitive that way. Can Other than that, it's a good place to access Assignments and documents for my classes.

They ruined the single only good thing about the app, the fact that you don't have to go through their tedious, unnecessary login page every single time you want to view anything. They removed that. Now sign in is required every time. This app is worthless, might as well use the website, both are fighting to waste the most of your time, whichever you pick is irrelevant.

Missing Feature in Update?? The issue I'm having is with one of the features, or more so the lack of one. A while back Pulse would allow students to add custom events to the app outside of what it picked up through D2L. This function was brilliant as not all homework is assigned or completed through D2L. The function seems to have disappeared somehow. Pulse no longer let's me add my own upcoming events to weeks. I've tried deleting and downloading the app over and over but the problem persists.

super helpful with two changes- 1. each class is "color coded", it would be much better if we had the ability to choose these colors. i already chose my notebooks and pens etc to match and organize myself, but the ones in the app dont line up, and ive even had colors overlap (even tho im only taking five classes!) 2. this would probably be too hard to fix, but just clicking on an assignment (in the app or on the web) marks it as done in the pulse list of work to do. so stuff gets missed

I like the app overall, it definitely helps with keeping track or what's due when. I do wish there was a way to control when the app sends notifications about due assignments, thirty minutes before the due date isn't very helpful, and I'd like it if it didn't send a notification at all if it has already marked the assignment as complete.

Back in October, I rated this app 4 stars. It was worth 4 stars, back then. I am dropping my rating to 2 stars. As of a week ago, each time I go to work on my modules, I have to log into the network again. None of the module work opens in the app anymore. I get redirected to the website, which defeats the purpose of using the app. Also, the Brightspace website does not allow me to play the audio, like the Pulse app does. The audio option is crucial for those of us with disabilities!

Installed, deleted, re-installed and still none of my classes load initially. After the third install, I was able to finally get it to load my classes. Having now used both the web version and the phone app, I can now say that this is not a user friendly program in any sense. It is set up similarly like APEX high-school credit recovery, but is so crammed with features that users end up going in circles unnecessarily, whereas in Sakai the user had a clear understanding of where tools or menus were and how to get to perspective assignments. Less is most definitely more when it comes to features where time management is important to working professionals who are using this platform and it does nothing for the student in the sense of efficiency.

I used to love this app and use it exclusively for my courses but since your last update it is completely unusable. Any time my screen switches between portrait and landscape views (my phone gets tilted or turned sideways) it completely closes out whatever I was on and takes me back to the home screen and any link under the weekly readings says it is unavailable. I know this is app specific because none of these problems happen accessing my classes through a browser.

Terrible. All you can see for each class is the content and grades. If you want to see anything else it takes you to an internet browser where you have to log in again and it's just the PC version of brightspace (which ironically tells you to download the app even though you're accessing it through the app!). Blackboard was so much better and I don't know why my university wanted to switch to this.

Very easy to stay in contact with your course and instructor. Can take quizzes and tests on this app. Its small when you donit on your phone but definatly worth the time convenience. I get notifications each time something new is posted. Helps me stay on top of what I need to do. There is a section to see due dates in a calendar. I love that option.

8.2023 Glad they fixed the issues. I really do Love using this app . 02.2023 Update: After 5 years of using this app for undergrad and grad work with no issues and loving it, I now can't get in. It logged me out and all it does is run an endless loop to login that never comes. Sadly disappointing. 01.2018 This app is a lifesaver for me. I'm able to do my school work anywhere with the tap of a button and I get notifications right away about grades and new classroom announcements.

This app allows me to access my school work from anywhere. it has all the similarities of the online book from a laptop and I love how it is user friendly. I would recommend looking into the audio read allowed feature. it tends to get stuck in a death spiral after a while of reading and switching pages. the work around for this is to stop the reader and restarting it on the current page to cut the lagging off. Overall, five stars on my end.

The app refuses to allow me to open any document a professor uploads, which effectively makes it useless. Its been that way for months, and based on what I'm seeing in other reviews, the problem appears to be fairly common. Im not sure why the developers aren't willing to fix such a key feature, but if you're experiencing this issue too, then you should advocate that your instution stop using brightspace because it doesn't seem as though that they have any intention to fix it.

Great! This app is fantastic. I run a Google pixel 7 alongside a Chromebook and I can do at least 90% of my course work from my cell phone wherever I am! It's awesome , literally when I'm in the car waiting for someone or doing anything that doesn't require much. I can always finish my course work and finalize everything from my computer. This app is tantamount to my coursework execution. When my Wi-Fi is out or the weather is affecting certain devices you can always upload files.

The app is great at taking care of needs. However, there isn't a link to directly access the email, which would be convenient. The reason for the low rating is the lack of a "create event" option for assignments that are not directly in Brightspace (be they in another program or in-person). This feature did exist at one point and removing it proves to be majorly inconvenient.

Pulse is a great app if you're a college student who wants to stay up-to-date with your courses, assignments, etc! Pulse sends out daily reminders so that you're not missing any deadlines and will also alert you whenever your instructor uploads any new content so that you're always prepared heading into class. I love it and would highly recommend!
