Things haven't changed. I liked CIT a lot when I first started with them. A good APY, good mobile layout, easy setup. My other bank connected right away to send funds over. Now, and I'm not the only one, logging in just doesn't work most of the time. "We are unable to process your request". Can't change password, can't use biometrics, nothing. They seem to lock your account for 0 reason, or send SILENT requests to change your password that you can't do through the app. Not worth it 🤦♀️

Terrible. This is a review for the app. Not the bank. Sign in randomly stopped working completely. Have to go to the website to get into my account. Also, everytime you sign in on mobile it asks the following. You have logged in from a new device.Do you want to register this device to receive push notifications? Doesn't matter what you say, it will always ask. Have called customer support for it and they weren't much help and didn't know how to fix it.

Thumb print ID stopped working, and app is not very intuitive. I can't see a list of the transfers I've made, which I like to use as another way of tracking when I made a transfers, transaction, or deposit. Overall, the app is acceptable, but could certainly use some improvements. Update: The app was updated, and it worked fine for a while, but now the transfer functionality doesn't work. I called the support and their advice was to Uninstall and re-install, which I did but still doesn't work.

I like the layout of the app. HOWEVER, there are some serious glitches with it, mainly with the login page. To summarize, it seems to always have issues with my login credentials that there are many times where I have changed my password just to simply access my account. This shouldn't be happening with a banking app, but it is, and I am going to stick with the web version due to how much of a nuisance it is to have to encounter issues with the app.

Nothing like logging in using my username, password, SMS 2FA code, and my fingerprint , all for the app to glitch and not actually let me log in. This app behaves more like a student programming project than the face of a financial institution wanting to hold my money. Clearing the cache, deleting local storage, reinstalling the app, and even switching phones haven't fixed it, and it's been broken for months. Other banks might have lower rates, but at least their app lets me check on my money.

Just when I think the app is working well, it lets me down. Logging in has been a long going issue of hit and miss with this app. The latest for me is biometrics not working. It's quite amazing that for as long as people have been complaining about login issues with this app, it appears not much has been done to address customer concerns. Very disappointing. edit: I have contacted support to address the login issues. It does not get resolved. This is an issue with the app, not user.

With the latest update, biometrics has not been working properly (S21 Ultra), which is my reason for leaving a review. Going from a fingerprint to having to type in my complicated password is a regression. In the past, I've also had issues with having to re-log into my account for pages to show up. For example I'd sign in, see nothing, sign out, sign in, then everything is there. Very bizarre and a waste of time. Apparently other users are impacted by my exact issues. Is there no QA team...?

app frequently fails to log in properly, either getting stuck on a loading screen for ages, or bringing you to a screen saying "logged out successfully"(??), and half the time if you do get logged in, there will be no content shown. problem has persisted for months now, almost thinking of leaving the bank because of how bad this app is maintained.

this app has been very buggy, sometimes I log in (like I've just done 3 times in a row) and the whole screen is blank. You cant even see how much interest in dividends you have month so far during the month. it's complicated to see what other types of accounts or cards they have available. I have two other bank accounts and their mobile apps, I never have a blank screen when I log into those other apps.

I'm no longer able to use the app after the most recent update. In CIT's defense, it's a Google problem. I also can no longer access my Chase account either, and I'm assuming the other banks will follow soon. With that said, the app was glitchy, requiring me to log in with biometrics, only for the page to be blank. I would then have to log out and log in again for it to work. The reason for the extra star is because it was useful when I had to transfer money and withdraw cash instantly.

I'm gonna take my money to a more reputable company your app is trash! why aren't you doing anything to fix it so people don't think you're some scam bank. Biometrics never works, it prompts me that it's the first time that I've logged in, every time I login. it's asks about notifications every time I login. Can you fix your app or should we all just go somewhere else.

update: this review is for the App. not for their customer service which i have had no issues with. In my case, unistalling and reinstalling did not work at all. what did work is when I called them they said their password requirement has been updated so any previous passwords that don't meet the requirement would result in login problems. the error reporting on the App is terrible. I logged in via website, changed my password and that made app login work.

The app just isn't working anymore. It was always slow but now I can't even login since the last update. I see 2 blank boxes, no text and a green box which is the sign in bottom I guess. I have a samsung s24 ultra and everything is up to date. Please fix this mess of an app once and for all. I don't want to have to use a website all the time to do my banking. Its getting to the point where I am just going to go to another bank.

Like everyone else has said, insanely buggy logging in. Never manages to do it on the first try. Offers random phone numbers as verification when actually your password or email wasn't entered correctly, making you immediately worry you've been compromised. And now, out of nowhere, it's not compatible with my phone. Amazing work, CIT!

The app is no longer available on my phone. My phone is old enough to no longer get the security updates you want to let me run the app. I'm not buying a new phone to get 1 app to work. I already have issues getting some transfers to go through and it often takes multiple submissions to actually transfer the money on my computer and the user interface is even worse on the app. I'm making plans to move my money elsewhere.

How does an online-only bank have an app that is this awful? It takes conscious effort to make an app this bad. Even before the update it took multiple tries to log in to my account, and my account would sometimes be locked for no reason. Now it is literally impossible. There are other institutions with the same interest rates and much better online access, take your money there. I know I will be.

App has always been a pain to use and login. a lot of times I would have to log in, it wouldn't show any of my accounts and the only way to fix it would be log out and in a few times. app is constantly down. well now it says my phone isn't compatible anymore. Never used a bank or app that is so unfriendly to use. It is a chore just to see my balances. It's going to be easier to withdraw my money and take it somewhere else then continue to use them.

I would like to edit this review. Before, I gave it one star. Now I wish I could give zero. Login doesn't work. Biometrics now do not work. every mobile deposit takes multiple attempts to recognize your endorsement. But it's so much more. I even had to call customer service to walk me through changing a password, I couldn't get the insane character requirements box to check off- turns out the issue had nothing to do with that box. They don't have the highest rate anymore, go somewhere else.

The basic principle of online-only banks is that they trade conveniences like physical locations, in-person deposits, and ATMs for a strictly online/ mobile app experience and better interest rates. Well guess what? The interest rates offered by CIT is no longer anything to write home about and now their mobile app straight up doesn't work. Painfully slow load times, constant requests for text verification (almost every time you log in), biometrics have not worked for months. I'm switching banks

Never signs you in the first time you try, or it takes forever. Navigating the app when you're in it seems simple, but when you click on something like "statements" - it takes you to a blank page or says there aren't any... it's so frustrating. You'd think a bank with as money as them could have an app that works.
