It is a very good game, IF YOU KNOW HOW TO ACTUALLY DO IT. The controls are extremely simple, THE ARRANGING PIECES CORRECTLY ISNT. Creating a successful creature takes time, patience , knowledge and skill. If you have those 4 traits, you may have found a perfect game for you. But if you dont...you'll probably never be able to play it correctly.

love the idea of games like this, had one on my PC. I heard of this & wanted to check it out thinking it would be fun to mess around with on the go. the problem is it lacks basic features other games like this have, like a score/markers to tell how far your creature has gone. not only that the background is completely blank making it very difficult to tell if your creature is even going forward or just sliding back and forth or going backwards. a ground texture doesn't help since it's so dark.

I do like how unique this app is and that you can watch things evolve, but it would be nice to be able to choose where to attach muscles between bones and possibly more than one. I'd also like the option to choose which of the simulations should go to next gen. Sometimes I find other movements more successful even if I didn't anticipate them. Lastly, a cage, or solid structure would also be nice to have. Trying to build a pelvis for two ostrich legs only ends up shattering everywhere.

There is a glitch in the game which causes the creature to glitch out and then the computer thinks this is the best way to advance, so it just starts getting the creatures to glitch out. Other than that it is an impressive bit of self learning software that works perfectly about 40% of the time.

Would be great but there is a couple of huge problems with this app. Firstly, after gen 10 (sometimes sooner) the muscles and bone connections seem to bug out, making the creation fly all over the screen. Secondly, the creation spawns the next generation with every spawn having a different variation of the original. This is a problem because sometimes all newest generations are worse and gen 100 can be way worse than gen 3. They could fix this by dropping the best one from the last gen too.

This used to be one of my favorite games, well until they decided to update the way the saves work. I had over 60 save files of various creations, and now they are all gone. other than that a great game, but I am just disappointed that all my time and effort is gone. ACTUALLY it's just fine great game 5/5

There are a bunch of problems with this game and it's algorithm, like that annoying bug where bones are supposed to be indestructible and inseparable, and yet sometimes triangles defy all logic and bend like springs! Also, the algorithm has a problem (which I mentioned it did), because sometimes you have a creature that is made in a way in which there's a specific way to walk (/jump/climb/jump over obstacles) that would be perfect, but only when it's done in exactly the right way; Therefore, an algorithm like this one couldn't achieve it. Making weird creatures and watching them successfullylearn how to walk (/jump/... ah, whatever!)-- although a rare occurrence-- is very enjoyable thing. To sum up, it's a very good game with quite the load of flaws, but I recommend it to anyone who's a science nerd like me.

This simulator is great and I have alot of fun although not too much progress in it. I am super thrilled to see an update made...finally. and look forward to many more. ... I have one problem. I cannot start the Sim any more. When I do it takes me directly to a gray background as if it twer going to load but never does. Just gray background... please fix.

Game potential = 10+ Game frustration = 8+ Such a cool idea and the fact that it has infinite possibilities makes it just amazing. However, most of the time you have no idea how to get what you want accomplished actually accomplished. There's no way to nudge the evolution development of your creation one way or another and there's no explanation or visuals showing *why/how* your design evolved this way or that. Without that, it'll never go beyond a 'trial and error'/'just messing around' game.

I really like the game but I have a few suggestions 1) make it so we can remove glitcy creatures or have the ai not go for glitch creatures 2) make an option that makes it so the ai can evolve parts on to the creature just for fun 3) make a mode where the ai takes creatures online and makes them compete against your creature and the ainner somtimes takes parts from the loser 4) more parts for mobility and being able to choose what that parts job is like deciding that something is supposed to wings flight and gliding or legs for walking or arms for balance 5) multiple creatures at once so you can compare different creatures easier 6) game mode where instead of competing to be the best at something it is a fight with like teeth and claws. Thank you for taking the time to read this but I will tell you a secret suggestions 1,2, and 3 are the other comments ive decided to mention in this list 4 is also another commenters idea but decided to be a little more specific. Only 5 and 6 were ideas that popped in my head i don't think anyone one else commented those and if they did I didn't see them. Great game amd I hope to see these implemented if they are not to complicated. Sorry for taking so long didn't realize until now.

Sweeeet, thanks for the update 2022!!! Great job! Creatures need to be able to set or detect orientation. Also we need to be able to zoom out more, and have more vertical viewing distance. When creating a flying creature you can't see much more than the initial viewing area preventing you from seeing a full flight. Designer needs measurement tools + multi select, arrow tool when bones + joints are near. A drop down menu with different brain suggestions "types". Add the best voted from discord.

Survival of the Glitchiest.... Great simulator. Unfortunatly, the most successful generations start to be the ones that can glitch its way across the field. Wish there was an option for selective breeding. This might screw with the original intent of the game, but it really would be an awesome mode. Also, factoring in a creature that flops ahead and becomes immobile is not the most effective, even though it made it the furthest.

Tons of fun to mess with! A few tips from what I've seen in other reviews: - like real evolution, overmutation leads to failure, which is why enough iterations sometimes causes glitching. - since muscles contract and expand, adding two opposing muscles to a bone can also cause WILD glitching. The dev may want to address that if possible. - if you're geting good results after a few mutations, lower the mutation percentage so future generations are less likely to have as many wacky iterations.

Great concept, and overall fun game. The real problem comes from the glitchy muscles. The AI learns quickly that it can glitch the muscles and make the creature shoot around the map at a rate that no built creature could beat. This makes the game unplayable, since it is always a valid tactic that will always beat any real attempts. It's just a matter of time before every member of a generation will be using glitchy muscles. If the devs make it so that we could pick the members that move on it would solve the issue of glitches getting picked. Something like, touch the 2 members you like during an iteration. Then, the game can put a marker on them so we know which ones we chose. Would definitely be worth 5 stars if this were fixed.

I love the concept. It's a real fun time killer. And the mechanics of the games are good. The only thing I would add is an algorithm that can detect its orientation. See, I made a circle of bone. I was expecting it to role. But all the ai does is play Simon sais and just adds on to the previously recorded muscle movements. I think the game needs an actual learning algorithm.

AMAZING game! Fascinating! Exciting! Fun! Needs improvements! This game is wonderful, however it's lacking one or two things. You see, in real life, some creatures can fly and some can swim. I think there should be the option of wings and fins along with sky and water. Of course, the original area (for ground creatures) should be included as well. The other addition is which ways the joints can rotate, as seen in real life with knees and elbows. Other than that, amazing game!

I like the game, but it has several flaws, mostly in the fact that sometimes they get into "inch wars" where the only directive is to make it farther and as some don't work as intended they will only go farther than the others and stop, which results in unproductive mutations. Also sometimes the muscles spaz out and go shooting off glitching to the top and because it got the furthest it gets that passed on, eventually it they all glitch, but other than that it's fantastic.

This is a really well made basic evolution game, good job! Its very fun messing with nodes trying to make things that work, and its also fun bugging out the game by spamming parts. Though it would be nice to have a sort of "death selection".. What It means is being able to select parts that when you use the Evolve button and the parts selected touch the ground, the creature dies and is unable to reproduce. Just a sort of suggestion though, thanks if its added though!

Really cool, but I would love a game mode where the creature not only learns how to use its body, but also over time has its body change in the event the map has a wall, it would evolve, all the while chasing after food which has a hunger meter, and of course, only the survivors go on to pass down the traits, although they only have so much energy, and can only grow so much. I know that might be a lot to ask, but I wanna be able to make a simple worm, and comw back hours layer to see what I get.

I think Evolution is an amazing game with a really cool concept of making characters in the game that evolve in how they move over time. You can never expect the exact same outcome with how one of your characters moves around and the way they move and behave mutates like it does with organisms in real life. I like the variety of options such as climbing, running, jumping, and flying, but I would recommend adding swimming to the game.
