The Temple and some art were very nice. Sadly there was no real BM feeling - either I was alone or no one was talking back... for scheduled events it seems to work. Luckily AltspaceVR/BRCvr released a Mac client to have some real BM vibes for free... or of course in 3D on the Oculus Quest. I add a positive notion and a star: it is constantly updated so in the end it was worth the donation.

I don't think people realise how much time (and skills) goes into building an app like this. Yes it's missing some fancy UI/UX elements, and yes, there's a few bugs – but what a feat to create something so huge in such a short time – simply incredible! Thank you to everyone who built us this virtual home. 🤯

Worst App ever, do not buy even if you are a burner! It's impossible to find your stage and the map is completely useless. Further you cannot even cast it onto another device or a soundsystem.

Pretty fricking cool for a virtual burn. It reminds me of the first years on playa where things were grittier not so polished and i got to be a part of something new and raw and different. I'm happy to support this multiverse and the hard work behind it. Its my 20th burn this year and I am so glad I got a chance to play in this multiverse as a part of it.

This app has clearly been developed by people who've never been to burning man before. The avatar system is seriously limited (Only two genders, with stereotypical fashion for both? Seriously???), and they've gone to almost no effort to actually recreate the playa. Center camp is just a bunch of random tents (completely inaccurate), and their models of big sound camps are horribly inaccurate. Just cancel the event if your virtual replacement is this bad!

Have to enter birth DATE to set up account, but can only do that via a calendar, set to today's date, that will only go back one month at a time. SERIOUSLY? If I was a ten year old, I'd have to swipe back 120 times, and I have to be over 18 to use the app. WHO DOES THIS? I'm going on two hours trying to set up my account, because the page randomly goes back to today's date. Who doesn't add the << year swipe button? I'm taking a break because my fingers legit hurt FROM SETTING UP AN ACCOUNT.

Awful app, awful support, awful shame! Tried to use earlier and couldn't get past paywall despite them claiming it's free today as well as them claiming to offer "sponsorships" (that they automatically sign you up for, sponsoring 10 people!), yet nowhere in the app or on their website do they mention how to apply for or obtain said sponsorships. I've downloaded this 1GB+ 3 times now, and it was a waste of my time each time. Also, others have paid and can't access the app. Total scam!

Cool implementation of VR-like option for BM. Have seen people's characters dancing but haven't figured out how to make mine dance. For those new to VR - to look around, you have to physically move your device as though it is your eyes. Angle your device up to the sky to look up at the sky, etc. Maybe there should be some tips when you first log-on to help with viewing and moving.

Wow, what an awesome experience in the app. People put a lot of thought into this and it really helps with the fomo. Some really awesome things inside. For those of you complaining, i think you may not fully understand the burner ethos. This was done by people as a gift to the community. The charge is to help offset costs. It's like going into a bar on playa and complaining that they charged a camp fee and the booze was subpar. Big thanks to those who made this app possible.

I'd consider gifting but only after I can see if it works. Demanding payment before that seems to be in conflict with decommodification. You ask for me to sponsor guests as well, but it's unclear who those guests are, or how one can become one. That's two strikes before I even get started. And it's late with bad reviews from most if those who did pay. Maybe later after I explore the other universes that have been up and running that I've not gone through yet. Good luck.

Great work in progress! It's brand new, being developed as we speak, and for all of its faults, I'm happy to donate $8 to )'( rather than a few hundred dollars ticket for any sort of experience this year. And I'm assu.ing the $8 will help improve the app as it grows. Definitely disappointed by the avatar choices but at the end of the day I haven't even seen myself yet. So excited to explore, thank you so much for putting this together!

Update: amount refunded, thanks for addressing my concerns. You should still include info on where the $ is going. I added 2 stars. Thanks burn on! App charging a minimum of 7.99 and is not clearly notifying user of the in-app cost and what it's going towards. It seems like a clear violation of Burningman tenents. And Google appstore policy. As well as after paying and actually entering the app it's not working with no recourse for refund. Long times burner very disappointed.

Almost unusable on Android. I have to practically hold my phone above my head to see anything. I also keep getting notifications that my app needs updating but there's no update option. I would Uninstall and start over, but am unwilling to have to pay again when the first version hasn't worked well. I see the potential and appreciate the efforts put into this. It just hasn't worked for me.

Got in, was cool looking from the music I could hear but all I could see was the ground and the "skateboard" thing I was on to navigate around. Using it on a tablet, tried portrait mode and landscape, and still couldn't see anything but the playa floor. Unsure where best to provide feedback.

A nice idea but poor execution, sadly. It's quite expensive, but then the app is jumpy and buggy and there doesn't seem to be much happening in it. The app is slow and crashes frequently. Hope the money goes to the BM cause in the end and not just to pay for this app... Now wishing I'd read the reviews before paying!

I had the biggest smile on my face yesterday, once I figure out how to navigate using the dots on the big Playa map as starting points, and use my phone in landscape mode so the Move and Turn controls were separate. Coming across a DJ appearing to play live in their purple pod blew my mind! So impressive! I don't understand the technology at all, so it is just magical :)

Works fine on my phone, but I'd love to use it on my tablet for a better view. However I'm having the same problem as others where I only see the ground, presumably because my tablet doesn't have the same orientation sensors as my phone. This could be solved by either (1) making the default/spawning viewing level at a normal looking-forward level instead of looking down, or (2) allowing the right controller (which can reorient the direction you face side-to-side) to also tilt your view up and down. I know it's near the end of the virtual Burn, but I'm hoping one of those options could be a quick upgrade.

I understand the mixed reviews, but this is a huge undertaking, and overall, I think they did a good job, and there are elements of the experience that really do feel like exploring the playa. If you are only seeing the floor, it's because your device is pointed at the floor - it's a VR environment and you need to think of your phone as a window, and point it where you want to look - at eye level! You can also use the wheel to look around, but it's easiest to only use it for left/right. <3 )'(

It really feels like you're on the playa just that you're completely alone. I wish I'd be able to interact with friends or anybody on this app. I haven't seen any other users the entire time. I have friends that have downloaded and are online but they have iPhones so apparently they're in another dimension so we can't even travel together or communicate. Oh, iPhone users don't seem to have chat functionality either. Literally took the multiverse theme that seriously hence, the extra star.

I'm honestly impressed! Not a big VR fan, but this is actually interesting and fun to cruise around in. Lots of great memories as you discover things! I'm sure this is a work in progress, and I see new a installations and camps popping up regularly. Good job developers. BUT, just one thing, my mic doesn't work in the app. My friends can't hear me so we conference a call together so we can all chat that way while exploring. Any way to fix the mic? Galaxy S10 5G
