Update 10/2020 to previously rated 4-stars:This app worked much better before the revamp over the summer. Now it's slowed tremendously. Android 7.1.2 on Kyocera Pro phone. Lots of tabs and features still under development. I loved the previous iteration of the app... This one not so much. Still carries relevant info, and provides good research. Just have to be patient to get at info.

I really do like this app. Most of us do, as it is a unique and extremely helpful web base to gain quality knowledge and interact. Could be updated to be more efficient in navigation, app is sometimes unstable. Ability to manage portfolios is great. Key because of the volume of info that feeds in for each saved symbol. Tools for the customization, usability of the portfolios area could be reorganized more like current Yahoo's set up for multiple personal portfolio maintenance/usage.

Your app (which has always been painfully slow), is now completely non-responsive. The buttons don't work, data is not loading, and the main display is blank. I've already reinstalled the app and restarted my device. Customer service over the phone blew me off... my subscription is up in October and this is probably the thing that pushes me over the edge into not renewing. Why no communication on this issue? This is my most expensive subscription, yet has the worst app I've ever used.

Good overall, but needs some work. Notifications on articles don't work about 80% of the time (android s22), just sends you to a page where the loading wheel doesn't stop spinning and then you lose the article and the notification is gone so can't find it again unless you remembered the title. Also pls add a "save article" button to notification and at top of article so we don't have to open and scroll all the way down to save for later. Takes way too long. Update 8/17 - getting worse!

Original 2018 review: Always a useful & valuable resource, but only 3 stars...like the full-blown desktop app, 1 in 5 times, it takes too long for an article to load (not just a few seconds, but often more than 30 seconds or more). Edited 20190722: Rating upgraded to 5 stars. Articles load fast nowadays. Caliber of authors and contributors is very consistently high, focused and professional. It's now among the best apps in its class IMO.

Originally seemed pretty decent but quickly discovered: 1) Doesn't have nearly the same amount of features and info as the website 2) CONSTANTLY just sits at a plain white screen. Need to close and re-open in order to get it to refresh and show anything. Would recommend using the mobile site instead. The only real benefit of the app is that it doesn't bug you to use the app.

Don't install the update. Font size is huge, like large print version. Portfolio view requires rotating screen. What UX is a mess now. It was nice and clean before. Update 10/30: Font size can be adjusted, but UI is still a mess. Holdings screen removed today's price column. Previously, it used to show today's price and even after hours/pre-market action. The updated app gained zero new features, but lost all of the good features. This seems like change for the sake of change.

Latest update is terrible. Fonts too big with no options to change. The disappearing header bar is maddening. Invasive pop-ups pushing their premium garbage constantly, and more articles get locked behind pay wall immediately. The 1 day chart does not have a fixed axis and you have to wait for the animation to get drawn. Load times are longer. Notifications are gone. Literally NOTHING is better. Thanks for the update!

Insanely cluttered. Highly unintuitive. This is a battery wasting notification producing machine. No less than 30 push notifications per day. Not to mention the massive flow of emails that comes along with it. The only way to change this is to get on the website. If I wanted my phone to go off 85 times a day I'd subscribe to Facebook. How about a little control over that?? Eh??

I really thought this would be useful. I've tried several times to give this app a shot while trialing the free version. But it quickly became obvious that the functionality was so drastically reduced (unless you pay to upgrade), that the app is truly USELESS. Every request to read an article is responded to with "sorry, you've exceeded your limit. There are far too many excellent tools available to me that I'll no longer waste my time with the app or even glance at any Seeking Alpha articles.

Update Oct 2019: New app is faster with fewer bugs. Minor article load issues sometimes. Original review: Amazing content, painfully slow app. I love the analysis and info on Seeking Alpha but this app is just so annoyingly slow. Every time I click through to an article it takes forever to load, even over WiFi with verified 100Mbps download speed. Sometimes the articles and charts just refuse to load at all. I could read SA all day long if the infernal app would just load the articles!

The app is horrible. I get pop up adds to download the app. This causes it to crash. If you purchase subscription, they are only available intermittently. If you give them your email address, you will be subject to loads of spam. Edit: Customer support got back to me. The only way I can stop the emails is to terminate the service. More recently, push notifications links do not work for articles from subscriptions.

Love the app. I use it daily. I would like to subscribe to premium, but cannot. I can't find a link to subscribe. Update I'm subscribed. Love the app, it's a great tool to help in your investing. There are some quirks, but overall, nice. FYI The full web version is full featured. Update: just had a technical issue with the app. Got in touch with technical support and the issue was resolved! Their technical support WORKS 💪

The content is interesting. But the App, at least on Android, probably only opens correctly for me 50% of the time. Loading screen locks up. Or I just get a blank white page and have to kill it and restart. Had a premium subscription but basically couldn't use it on my phone, so had to cancel. Edit, it does seem to work more consistently so far after a delete and reinstall. Thank you!

Edit: No article shows words past the first 40-50 anymore. I still get all notifications, but nothing past a teaser sentence/slug. 👎 Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app prior to rating drop, cuz duh. Original: All in all, this is a great app for access to up-to-date articles and some stock movements. At times it can be buggy, but the content is worth it. You can follow specific analysts and stocks. Doing so populates a page with their articles as they are submitted to SA.

Not a fan of the "new and improved" app. Layout does not adjust to meet phone dimensions on width. Reverse background and font are somewhat annoying (maybe I'll get used to them over time). Stock analysis is still good. Have found several authors that know their stuff. And several commenters that enjoying hurling verbal stones. All in all a very worthwhile app for DIY investors.

Good app. It was a better app than it is now. Used to use it a lot offline and read articles if away from a network. I can't do that now for some reason. Edit: They updated the app so you can read the articles offline. Still doesn't show the charts offline like it used to. In many of the articles the charts are important because the author is trying to illustrate a concept, evidence supporting a point of view, ect. Not just trying to prove the future based on past performance. +1 star

Recent redesign looks pretty but feels like a huge downgrade in usability. Ability to see portfolio aggregations seems to have been removed. Edit: apparently, you have to rotate your phone to see the portfolio. I'm an Android developer, and this is a UX pattern I've never seen before. It works, but definitely not expected behavior. I keep my phone rotation locked most of the time, so it's still less usable than before.

I've been using it for quite a while since I first rated it, and it's proven to be very good after all. Notifications for the people that I follow are accumulated into one alert on the lock screen (which is really nice) but it has a pulldown which gives direct access to any particular one. Supports multiple font sizes, and gives very good access to resizable images and tables of numbers. The app is fast and does not seem to cause any problems with battery or other resources.

App works well, very informative and up to the minute. My main Issue is the nonstop notifications that WILL NOT go away! I disabled every single feature, including email, to try to stop the damn notifications from coming. It is ridiculous how difficult it is to stop those notices. Should be ONE button--disable alerts--thats it!! Had to cancel my premium subscription over it.
