12 min is a great app/service which allows you to get an overview on so many different areas and topics. I like that an audio and written format is used. I listen to the summary on my daily walks and follow with the written summary. I believe this will save money. I Spend a lot of money on ebooks. Understanding the basic concepts and allows me to be more focused on the books I actually buy. WISH: would really enjoy is having the ability to attach personal notes as I can do in my kindle ebook.

love the readers and concept but the app controls are clunky and often the book does not know when it's finished if the phone is asleep when you listen to the book. hitting "x" often does nothing. trying to use your own phone back button exits out entirely...developer wants "screenshots" of functionality. That makes no sense. A screenshot of me pressing the x button sixteen times to exit that screen?

I just opened an account and have read through a few books, and so far ALL have significant grammatical errors and occasional completely nonsensical word choices. I realize this company is from Brazil, but they need to do a better job of editing their English-language offerings. I purchased over Stack Social and unfortunately am not able to get a refund. As it stands now, this is not worth even the discounted price that I paid. Also APP suddently stopped working when I wanted to read, but was ok next morning.

It's all about advertising and making us pay the premium. Not even fully set up and haven't even tried my first audio book but I get a pop up for paying for premium. Uff! I understand you need money to keep going. But if you plan to start with giving the users a little bit of free things just give them some time instead of shoving the premium banners and other ads down our throats. If it's good content, people will pay and subscribe for more! Edit: No point in emailing any further. Uninstalled!

A nice quick intro to a book you are curious about. I like the service and the price is right. But many of the 12 min books I have read/listened to are written somewhat amateurishly, with strange grammatical phrasings, sometimes even mispronunciations, etc. Like a pretty smart college freshman writes them. Others are much better and more professional quality.

I foolishly bought a lifetime subscription before trying it as it sounded like an amazing concept. Unfortunately, the catalog is fairly small and the summaries of books I've fully read are amateurish, missing key points or making me wonder if we even read the same book at times. There's also incredibly irritating "RATE THIS!" & "SHARE THIS!" prompts after every read, which you can't disable.

This is a pretty good service. It is a good deal, with decent summaries. With that said, note these two very important things: 1. On occasion, the app loads but doesn't bring back any books at all. I assume their server is down when this happens... This can be VERY frustrating, especially if you only have a few minutes to read - which happened to me yesterday. 2. Some of the summaries are great, but others have NUMEROUS spelling and grammar errors making them nearly impossible to get through.

I bought life time subscription. Often it does not play the audiobooks, even downloaded ones. Nothing happens on play. Buggy play controls. Also, app sends too many notifications. Update 24th Aug 2021 - It continues to NOT work, even after contacting support and providing them details of issues. Really frustrating. Don't waste your time and money.

Good content but app and narrator issues. In one of my first books, the narrator mispronounces nearly any word over 5 letters long. The app is slow to load and even though you can download content for offline listening, the app won't load without network connection. Search seems completely broken as no results are ever returned so you can only browse or "discover" instead. Completed books don't always move to the "read" tab. I do enjoy it overall but there are issues.

Sometimes the app freeze. Most books are between 14 mins to 20 mins. The summary is so so. They didn't get the main point. Not too many selections. They said they added 10 books per week, but there is no way you can know it. I can only see probably 40 or 50 books available. I have a technical problem. I sent them an email, but they never replied to me back. They said you can search for a title if it's not there then I can submit a title and amazon URL. URL is optional, but it's not. The app required you to have Amazon URL. You can't copy and paste. When I typed the whole URL. The system still doesn't accept it, so you can't really submit any title at all. I saw other users have the same problem, but nothing fix.

App seems to break if you download a books audio for listening in areas with unreliable, or overly slow, data. This has been an issue for years. Hopefully they'll sort it out eventually. Many books I look up don't have summaries. As long as I choose from the limited amount of book summaries this app is great. Some of the summaries have bias, especially in the "12 minute tip" they sometimes add at the end.

Wonderful idea but needs time and improvement. It seriously needs a "Contact Us" button, it needs more genres and categories (I was hoping for more History), and the "Wishlist' page appears to have more information beneath the "Send" button, but the information isn't accessible through scrolling. Lastly, with regards to suggesting books, the Android "copy/paste" buttons do not appear, which are useful in pasting long titles, links, etc. Otherwise, I wish this app and its creators great success.

Updated 5/19/2021. Still a good idea, worst app ever. Can't play audio ever, unless I reinstall. Hard to find what you like, the list goes on and on. Surely this is a joke. No improvements in 9 months? ... Good idea, poorly developed app. If you disconnect from bluetooth, like turning off your car, the audio in the app stops working completely. Has to be uninstalled and reinstalled, redownload books, before it works again. Also, it's impossible to pick and listen ...

I really like the app and its great quality contents but it has some serious drawbacks. 1: Holding finger and it has only one option: Highlight. For me which I need to access MDict and sometimes copy content it is pain in the neck. 2: Cut the internet and app stop responding on reading mode. I want to be able to read even if my WiFi is off. It should have some option to download content (not only audio versions of the summaries). 3: No option to manage the library. It is a must for apps like this. 4: Its overall speed to load a book is awful. My connection is slow and with your app, it makes life much harder. But anyway its content is great and high quality. 5: Needs more fonts and background options. Also being able to justify the lines is a good idea.

Update It sure works like it's supposed to now. It does not stop in the middle of reading anymore, like it's lost connection to wifi . Kudos. It's hard to work with it. When 8t works, it tends to stop in the middle of a reading and that requires shutting the app down to restart. Now it says there is a bug and will not open any book at all. Two stars because it took some gumption to bring this idea to live. Blinkist works so much seamlessly though.

Not impressed yet. Interface hard to use. No search function when looking for a 12 minute book'. Additionally, when asked to enter a suggestion, they want you to enter a URL, however when using copy and paste is not doable. Very hard to use. If you just want suggestions sent to you from 12min, this user interface is good. If you have specific books in mind to listen to, you are going to be disappointed

Love the 12min summaries! It provides a great way to review which books I want to take a deeper dive into. I really like being able to listen to or read them. Some of the narrations are a bit off like the person reading just needs to do a couple more read throughs before recording. I'd prefer a bit more intuitive mobile navigation when browsing categories (having to scroll vertically and then horizontallly isn't the best). But these are small quibbles for a great service!

Update: does not work anymore, on launch, shows a blank screen, stays that way. Mark as read somehow does not work, the button is visually pushed, several times, but the book does not move to read... Otherwise, great app and awesome idea too! New suggestion: do not recommend books I read, allow to buy full books, social highlights and seeing your own highlights 8n one place Update: still does not work, even after reinstall

I received a subscription to this app as part of a software bundle. Many of the summaries are good, but some betray a lack of understanding of the material being summarized. Overall, I find this app useful for deciding which books I want to read/listen to fully, but I wouldn't trust the accuracy of the summaries without reading the full book. I would suggest a book-specific review system be implemented so the developers could rewrite and improve on lesser summaries based on user feedback.

The content is good, but the audio player couldn't be much worse. If I can listen to a presentation all the way through without any interruption, it'll be fine. But, if I have to stop the playback for any reason, the app will be real flaky about resuming where I left off, if at all, until either the app receives an update or I have reason to reboot the phone. This has been my experience over a few years, across multiple devices.
