The new update removed the 2 most useful alerts. 1) An alert for any transaction over a certain amount. Texted to me, not to a secure login where I have to take multiple steps to see what it was. And 2, A quick alert anytime my account goes below a specific threshold (not repeated every day). All of these hundreds of messages a month, I'm going to switch banks.

This app is slow. I have to keep exiting out the app like 5 times before I can even get my accounts loaded. It doesn't show me my pending deposits like the old app. I really wish they hadn't upgraded. This app has so many glitches. I can log into my app in the morning and then if I log back in a few mins later , or at the end of the day, all my charges disappear and my balance is incorrect.

New app is terrible. It was sleek/modern, now it looks 10 years outdated with a goofy male model on every login. Unintuitive messy design. Side menu so touchy that it pops out if my finger just barely moves right when scrolling down. Security is worse now. Screenshots can be taken of details and app autofills my login info. WORST thing- it no longer updates balance instantly. 3-7 days pass and only a few random transactions show. Thanks for the awkward store checkouts! I'm done with Academy.

The old app was way more efficient. This "New Improved" app is not only much slower at just loading in general, its not nearly as good at keeping up-to-date on transactions and correct balances. Much slower overall. My phones back button wont work with this app any more, and now screen shots are possible, and the old app wouldnt let you take screenshots. Also I miss the "Instant Balance" tab on the home screen. It was very convenient not havig to sign in every time just to check my balance.

I literally hate the new app. The menu pops up just from scrolling (which is very inconvenient), I don't have an option for instant balance anymore, and I used to be able to see my pending direct deposits and no longer can. I appreciate the idea of upgrading the app, but in my opinion it just went down hill. Please, please, please fix it or return to the older verion.

All of the updates that were made to this app are clunky and should never have been added. It was hard to keep up with the balances before but now you've made it impossible. Plus I can no longer just back out of the account with a confirmation I have to log out and then hit my homescreen button to go back to my home screen. Overall, not loving the new changes made to the app should never have occurred.

The updated app is delayed it takes a long time to load and switch from screens and chosen options, I don't like the options for the alerts, I get the same alerts every morning for no reason a little after 2:00am and have since the new app started and I set my alerts. The app and the website were not accurate on Monday but were on Sunday. It is not as user friendly as the old one, I am not happy with this app!

This app no longer allows instant balance. I would like to check my balance quickly without having to log in each time. Also, since the upgrade i can no longer receive direct payments by using my debit card. I've also noticed that pending deposits no longer show up and my balance is frequently incorrect. The upgrade seems to have made this app less user friendly.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Update made the experience clunky and useless. Forcing the update was iritating, the 30 min of reading several pages of menial things was cumbersome, forcing me to change my password for no real reason other than just because was annoying, but now making the app useless drivel where I can't even check to see if I have any pending transactions or when I'm getting paid and have to go through the worst UI to do it is infuriating. Literally no reason to have this now.

Horrible since "new app" started today. Ugh! Not showing all of my recent transactions with an updated funds available! Should have never "fixed" something that wasn't broken. Odd, yesterday I had $811 in my account as an available balance. Woke up this morning with a negative balance??? This app has way too many bugs. It's not showing a correct available balance, not showing correct pending transactions. This is going to cost me big time. Closing my account ASAP

Awful. This last update ruined the app. It does not show accurate balances anymore. You can no longer see pending debits or deposits. The ease of use is gone. You might as well just use the website, it is just as quick to get to and log in. I used to recommend Academy because of how great the app is. We moved from where we opened the account and the closest branch is over an hour away. We stayed because the app made it convenient. Now we are looking for something closer to home.

This latest update is awful. Previously, pending transactions would show up immediately. Now they'll be pending for several days at a time, or even be removed then randomly show up again, so I never know what my actual balance is. It's very inconvenient. It also isn't as visually appealing as it once was. The transactions list is confusing and an eyesore. The only good thing to come of this are the new ways to transfer funds. Other than that, the older version was so much more user friendly.

Recently, the new app failed to update my accounts. Three days worth of transactions could not be seen, nor could I make any transfers even though the funds were available. It took a full afternoon to correct itself. On a separate occasion, I checked the balance of my account before I made a purchase. Even though funds were available, I received a $200 insufficient funds error when I went to pay for the purchase. There was a third incident involving a missing transaction.

It's very rudimentary, I DO appreciate that now AFTER the update you can see details about the transactions, but I have to sign into the app JUST to get a message that's supposed to be a text message alert..? Terrible. Come on, I know it's JUST Academy, but even the previous version didn't have this issue. It also has misleading information regarding transactions and my "available balance" is inaccurate LITERALLY every other day.

Overall a decent app, Pros- 1. Instant and free checking to savings, and vise versa, money transfers. 2. Transfers through Zelle. 3. Extensive in-ap settings options. Cons: 1. Account balance often inaccurate due to pending transactions not immediately factoring in (checking balance jumps around). 2. Academy's secured credit card shows inaccurate account balances due to very slow update times.

I usually dont leave a review on products or services I use, but Academy Banks "New digital Banking" is pathetic. EVERYTHING about this new app is worse than the old version. I have two Checking accounts, & two Savings accounts; (4) Accounts in total. I can only see information for 2 of 4 accounts, and they aren't my primary Checking & Savings accounts. So, for whatever reason I can't access my other accounts, and have no clue what they currently reflect. If it isn't broken dont fix it! -1*

HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE, NO GOOD! The last update done to this app has rendered it absolutely useless to me. I hate the loading screen at the beginning as it takes far to long. On one of my accounts when I click it, it just spins and trys to load but never completes. In the era of technology I expect my information to be at my fingertips quick, fast, and in a hurry. I know it can be done as the last app was proof of that. Super disappointed.

I'm rating the app, not the actual bank. You go to google or yelp to complain about service right? Anyways, the layout seems a bit generic and Zelle is unavailable to use. You can keep tapping on "More" for options but it doesn't do anything. What I saved over my laptop does not show in the app. Hope this all gets fixed soon. It's quite an inconvenience.

There are SO many things wrong with this app. 1: can't see pending deposits anymore 2: Can't right click on check images and save anymore 3: Due to credits and debits disappearing, which makes it hard to keep a correct balance, that lead to getting an overdraft fee. I don't understand why a perfectly working app was made to be broken. I HATE this new update! I have been with Academy Bank since 2003. I'm really considering getting a new bank.

The app works okay. I liked when you could look at your balances without having to sign in completely. Also the "help" chat button is ALWAYS in the way. It would also be great if after I have acknowledged an alert message that I don't have to see it every single freaking time I open the app. I KNOW ABOUT FRAUD NOW, PLEASE STOP TELLING ME. I KNOW! I also have to sign in twice before it opens. Other than the things I said, it does what I need it to do.
