I have been using Action Launcher for many years. The initial upgrade from Action Launcher 2 to 3 was, putting it kindly, a bit of a mess. However, the years continued slowly reintegrating many missed features, so by the time the devs reworked the branding to turn AL3 into Action Launcher, they had re-established the polish and sheen once missing. There's nothing on the Play store with the level of ease, convenient features, and little genius design decisions. After all these years still no comp

update... after the April 27 update, the Google launcher became a proprietary search engine. This is even worse. Now, not only can I not get rid of it, it does not run searches through Google. And it will not resolve straight URLs. It saddens me that I paid for the full version of this. The search bar crashes the app when you try to change it, and the developer's response does not address any of the issues I am reporting. I am uninstalling the Launcher tonight and going back to Microsoft.

Update (11-14-19): I hope you guys can make the default adaptive icon setting respect Android 10s theme settings. As of the current version, it doesn't mimic the adaptive icon style of the current pixel style applied. This is quite an excellent launcher. The quick page feature is quite handy. Also, the ability to change colors depending on the wallpaper goes great with Android Pie's night mode feature.

It was great, until it wasn't. I have used this since I got my phone, yes I've had the same phone for years, but this last update has made my phone almost unusable. Constantly freezing at a black screen, I read the notes of the update and I'm only having the problems it was suppose to fix, but I didn't have that problems in the first place. So I have uninstalled, and my phone works fine again. I'm just disappointed.

I really hate the new search interface. I have a gesture set up for " all apps (keyboard displaying)" and I'm forced to use this new, horrible, ugly, SLOW search interface and i hate it. I've been using this launcher for years and this is the single worst thing I've seen implemented. Please, please, please give me an option to go back to the old search interface before i find a different launcher.

I paid for the full version for my note 9, but still suffered from bugs daily. Simple gestures wouldn't work for my app drawer, notifications, and quick settings, and this would happen several times a day. I wanted to get a refund but the customer support was not very helpful. Honestly, would not recommend this given the current options out there, such as nova launcher or the microsoft launcher (surprisingly really liked this one).

I've been using this and PAID for it and loved it. Until today's update. Woke up, it updated during the night, and my home screens are completely messed up. Pretty much a start over default set-up. Nice. Plus my in-phone backups are gone so the only backup I have left is on Google Drive and it's a year old. So I get to spend an hour or two recreating it. Too bad you're so messing up what was a great launcher!

I really like this launcher and can't live without it. Love being able to customize so much and give my phone a minimal, functional look. HOWEVER, after some recent updates, it's been going pretty slow. It can take several seconds just to load the home screen. Never had this issue before, and unfortunately it might be a deal breaker.

I used to use Action Launcher, but left Android for a while. When I came back, I was eager to download and upgrade to premium. Unfortunately, it's too buggy for me. Shutters only load/update about 60 percent of the time, there are random display glitches. Those issues coupled with the fact that it's 4.99 (in addition to upgrading to premium) to use Google as your search engine will push me to another launcher.

I really like the design of this launcher. However, recently I found it does not consistently load elements when I transition from an app to the home screen. Sometimes resulting in having to stare at my background without any icons for several seconds. To me this makes it unusable. I think this is the best launcher for Android, unfortunately recent updates to either this app or Android OS has created bugs that make it unusable.

+ Overall, a smooth and intuitive launcher. The functionality of the Quickdrawers are really useful and best Android's default app drawer in terms of ease of use and utility. More icons, less effort. = Customizations options are limited compared to other launchers, but options have steadily increased over the years. I think it's a fair tradeoff given the launcher's focus on making things like the drawer a priority. - The Smart swipe/folder cover options are finicky, despite selecting settings to change the functionality of the folders and gestured. Once every couple of weeks or so they'll just stop responding to swiping up, or will prioritize the app drawer instead swiping up to open the folder.

Edit: setting to 3 stars after reply below. still not thrilled with the change, (including new monotization method) and have moved on after many years. Original review: looks like they changed my search bar. in order to set the provider back to google, its going to cost me (2019 supporter level), and the results seem worse now than prior. moving on to try other launchers, as this change seemed to be designed to capture more data for revenue (i could always be wrong).

2 pro has been my favorite for a while now. This is a significant downgrade. . Too many old features missing. Crashes. Can't load previous configuration.... . Edit: it's worse than I thought. Icons and folders randomly change. Stay away! . 1/26/15 continues to fail. Randomly deletes or changes my icons/folders. You really blew it with this update.

Update review years later: App is still great. Is there a way to completely turn off the notification bar? When I make the color "no color" it adds a gray gradient to the top of the screen, very noticeable on a black background. And if you disable the notification bar entirely, it creates a harsh line at the top of the screen. Coming from Galaxy S10 Plus

Glitching even more than it used to and creator is MIA. I have to restart the app 5+ times a day. The "Shutters" just stop working and you have to restart the app to get it to work. Wouldn't be a problem if this was a one button process but you have to open Action settings, help, restart. Multiple times per day! It's infuriating. I love the features but I will just go to a different launcher with no issues than deal with these glitches for something that works better but only 10% of the time.

This is a fantastic and surprisingly stable launcher. I love covers, essentially allowing a default app for a folder. I wasn't sure about paying for the app, but having the colors used match the wallpaper actually made a big difference in how good it looks. The only bug I've found is that occasionally the dock icons sink too low, but they pop back into proper position with a second tap of the home button.

2015: I haven't used AC in a while. I'm really impressed with the smoothness and design. Going to play w/ this for a few days, but I think i'm paying for pro on pay day. As always amazing work. 2019: I've gone back and forth on this app, and i just cant recommend it anymore. It's always the same, the app is fine for a week, then stability just degrades. I don't have a complicated screen setup, and it never works as expected for long. It's a shame, i like the idea of the app, and the dev is cool

I should be able to move my app drawer to the desired position the same way I would the home screen. And the search bar being the quick bar being the action bar was a long stretch to disable as it's only top or bottom, and they want to pay wall you to use Google as default?? The only redeeming qualities are that it's a better UI than the bottom 50% of other launchers. Constantly asks me to make it default home, 3 times in a row. Y'all get money hungry and take away core features, come tf on

Sort of mirrors Pixel Launcher's design, but the default layout is still very bloated (even though simplicity is what Pixel Launcher is known for). Full of popups asking you to buy the premium version. Also has popups asking you to give it access to your wallpaper. That's standard for a launcher, but what's not standard is neglecting to declare the permission with Android so that it's actually possible to accept it!!! Also, Bing is the default search engine and you can't change it w/o paying.

I thought I was actually being hacked. Got a new phone, thought I would try this launcher, so I bought it. At first I loved it. Thought it was amazing. About a week later I started getting full screen Amazon ads when I changed apps. Tried restoring from backup. Still have the problem. Tried formatting and restoring fresh, still happened. Then I remembered it happened about the same time. I tried this launcher so I went back to Nova. No more annoying, full screen adds. Will never use this again.
