Very useful app when it works properly. This had become our go to app for dispatches, preplans, hydrants and more. However the recent issues in the pop up notifications is making it difficult for our members to get notified efficiently. Currently looking for other apps that provide more reliability and quicker updates for fixes.

Had the activealert system when I was with my old department. Was an amazing asset. The options that it gives for pre plans and notifications that are non emergent were great. Knowing were personal was and who was available to respond and the time it takes for them to arrive was great. Would like to get my new dept on board with activealert.

I am getting extremely irritated by this service, I have never had an issue till recently in the last 2 months, I am sick and tired of not recieving alerts which I need for the 3 departments I run with. I dont get alerts at all unless I open up the app, I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times over which doesn't seem to work. I called the help # and receive little help. Now today we get a cardiac arrest call and I didn't even receive an alert. I have a Samsung S8 is that the problem 😡😡😡

Oct 3rd....... Still MAJOR issues with app after supposedly new updates. Uninstalled tonight and reinstalled. Will try for a few days. I am an admin for our system and It picked up my test immediately after reinstall. Sure hope we get the ole reliability back soon. We are paying for 75 people on a system that works HALF the time at best. UPDATE....Seems like all of the latest updates have remedied the issues.

2023/08/22 - After viewing an alert and going back to the list of alerts, the prior position is not maintained. Not sure when this changed, but likely within the past week. Extremely inconvenient, especially when reviewing alerts from prior days. Have to scroll back through list each time. Fixed as of 2023/10/13.

The app starts having glitches when it is time to renew your subscription. It is as if they are blackmailing the user to renew so the app will work properly. Avoid this app as a single user! As an agency subscription I am sure they are more responsive to app issues. UPDATE after multiple emails back and forth, NO resolution. The developer sees no issues on there end. They blame everything from user to the phone itself, phone operation system, data speed, the dispatch connection. Horrible.

After a recent update the app no longer opens the full screen popup dialog even if I have that selected. Very irritating when I'm getting paged to have to fumble with the device to unlock it in order to pull down the notification drawer and click the notification to open the app and ultimately see the page. If a page is incoming it's vital to be able to see as much information quickly as possible.

Always updating. Great customer service. Were able to fix an issue by sending us the code causing an issue that the city IT dept couldn't find. My only complaint is that the screen times out(goes to sleep)on a tablet while trying to use the map to navigate. Would be nice if it would open Google maps for navigation.

Overall great for getting fastest direction from current location. Unfortunately Android app not as good as ios and don't understand why. IOS will continue to send updates to call through CAD however Android won't. Would also be nice to be compatible with android auto so response screen could be seen on vehicle screen instead of having to hold phone.

This app is so bad about actually changing your status when you hit a status button. If I change from "avail" to "drive", I shouldn't have to babysit the app to make sure the button worked. My status is regularly not correct because the button presses don't actually take effect. I don't have time to press the same button over and over until it works. You can't have the app remember the user's choice and reattempt automatically if there's a network problem?

Our department just switched to this app from another. This app will not allow Android users to force push a notification sound while in silent. That means if you wear a watch and all notifications go through your watch, you will not receive the alert tones to notify you of an actual alert. This is a major problem that has led to multiple missed alerts. I was not a fan of switching app services, and will now highly recommend others stay away until fixed.

An excellent app with one major flaw. On Android devices, the app overrides Do Not Disturb but doesn't override when a user has the volume turned down. This has lead to missed alerts and renders the app unreliable. I've talked to other Android users and they've had the same experience. I reached out to the developer about this. Their fix was (paraphrasing) only use DND settings to control the volume on your phone, not volume buttons. Some of our android users have gone back to using pagers.

Great Customer Service! The map function wasn't working on my android phone after the last update. I contacted tech support and they had me uninstall the app, restart my phone, then reinstall the app. Once the next tones dropped, the map function worked again. Easy fix and great assistance. We cover 400+ sq miles of a rural area so the maps are not always accurate and we've be directed to the wrong location at times (thankfully we know the area well enough). Otherwise, very helpful tool!

Obly giving this 3 stars because I'm thankful something like this simply exists. However, I have constant issues with the app (and widget). Recently the widget to change duty status hasn't been working (click it and it freezes on the 3 dots). The duty status within the app itself has also been acting up and not changing (especially when switching from off to on). Extremely great concept and it works way better on Apple than it does Android so will give higher rating when issues get fixed.

Update: 4 years later, review still stands. It works fine, but is completely unacceptable that this isn't integrated into android auto yet. Emergency response is a simple one button press on a screen. Having to fumble for a phone to respond to an emergency response adds unnecessary actions and danger. I have read that there is no intention to add this functionality. Maybe someone can explain to me how this makes sense? The ability to respond to an emergency on the move should be a no brainer.

I'd love to give this app 5-stars, but there's a few unresolved issues and easy improvements that could be made first. When I try to switch from "off duty" to "on duty", the screen blinks between day and night mode, and content flashes on and off. Takes several restarts to fix. The widget is nice, but can we choose a rig and go on-duty right on the opening page? Is there a way to archive the alerts, and export to a .csv file? It would be nice to remove agencies, when you have many

Overall, very practical which I like, it does everything it needs to, and this is kind of a meat and potatoes kind of business, so I get that. However, the computer geek and perfectionist in me sees a lot of room for improvement. For example, there's a lot of steps to go though to change notification settings. I know I can't be the only one who likes the "continuous repage" function overnight, but also forgets to turn it off when I get to my dayjob in the morning. My coworkers don't always care for that especially if I happen to be in a meeting or step out of the room. Food for though, create notification profiles so you can store all your settings for quick changes. Maybe add a shortcut to the desktop widget to control the profile. It would also be nice if they could put a priority function on the service. They already have separate page groups and duty status', however I know most of us like to monitor what's going on elsewhere in our response areas, even when we're not necessarily first due. It'd be cool to hear a quick chirp for stuff that isn't of immediate importance to me, while I get my nice annoying "it's 2 am, get your arse out of bed" continuous high pitch page for things that are of immediate importance. Otherwise, it's a great program. Always seems to work, the google maps integration is nice, really can't complain about the base functionality at all. It gets me the information i need when i need it, and that's exactly what it's there for.

Review for the previous version. The problem we have had is that when we pull up the map 90% of the time it shows directions to the wrong locations. Sometimes it's many miles in wrong directions. Not sure if this is the app or how the info is entered into the app but this a critical problem for our fire department. Latest version says this is fixed. If so, this will be a 5 star app.

Overall this is a great app that helped bring my backwards employer into the 21st century only about 15 years too late. Unfortunately it has a major flaw in that the contrast of the road outlines/road names/background are such that it is very difficult for me to read the map, especially in the bouncy cab of the engine. To make matters worse the street names stay tiny no matter to what extent you zoom. I encounter this problem in all viewing modes but dark mode is the worst.

I love this app... When it works. I consistently have to uninstall and reinstall this app to get it to let alerts come through. Almost once or twice a week I have to uninstall it and put my device code back in to reconnect it. I would love to say that this app is perfect but it is very frustrating not receiving the call on my phone when I need information.
