🔍eSIM FAQ
What does an Airalo eSIM plan come with?
• An Airalo package comes with data (e.g., 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, etc.) valid for a specified time period (e.g., 7 days, 15 days, 30 days, etc.). If you run out of data or your validity period expires, you can top up your eSIM or download a new one right from the Airalo app.

How much does it cost?
• eSIMs from Airalo start from US$4.50 for 1GB of data.

Does an eSIM come with a number?
• Some eSIMs, including our Global Discover+ eSIM, come with a phone number so you can call, text, and access data. Check your eSIM's description for details.

What devices are ready?

Who is Airalo best for?
• Anyone who travels, whether it's for business or vacation.
• Digital nomads who need to stay connected to work while abroad.
• Crew members (e.g., seafarers, flight attendants, etc.) who need to stay connected while they travel.
• Anyone who wants an easy and affordable data alternative to their home network.

Can I use my SIM card at the same time?
You sure can. Most devices allow you to use multiple SIMs and/or eSIMs simultaneously. You can keep your primary line active to receive text messages, calls, and 2FA authentication (but remember, they'll be subject to roaming fees).

Happy travels!

Please be careful with this service!!!! I do NOT recommend. It was intermittently reliable in italy but since I could walk, I could make it work. Now I'm in colombia. Both my sister and I had ours quit working while we were far from our hotel. We ended up having to use her roaming Verizon data to get an Uber back to the hotel. We reached out to customer support but no response from live chat. Read the reviews out there...it's not often a company has a 1.5

Very easy for someone with basic phone technology ability to order and download to device. No issues activating eSIM after arriving at airport in Taipei, it was able to connect perfectly. I was a little hesitant to not have a local phone number, but the data plans available and the use of social media apps made contacts at location trouble free. I will definitely use this eSIM again on future trips.

Great experience using airalo esims. I got a regional sim and a country specific one and both were easy to set up and use. Instructions are easy and straightforward. Cheaper than an intl plan from your carrier. Sorry convenient to buy additional data from your phone. Only caveat is you need to be able to print your qr code or have another device to scan it from when setting up your esim.

Traveled to Germany and then to Vietnam so got the region in Germany and the country for Vietnam. Had a great experience! I was able to search the internet, check email, use GPS (which was important to me), and also make calls using What's App. My husband got the global version and we found I had better service in Vietnam than he did. It was so much easier than having to swap a physical SIM card.

I've never used an esim before, but I had a friend refer this company to me. What I saw looked pretty good, and it did not disappoint. Airalo was super simple to use, and they really spelled out how to activate their product. I didn't even have to use it right away. I could get settled in my travels and activate it at a later date. Plus, I can set it as the primary sim or to kick on if my service isn't adequate.

Works most of the time until it doesn't. Will randomly stop working and run out of data without warning! Then you can't get the app to open to add more data until you get to wifi because its already too late. Should be an option to top up before you run out! Now the app won't open even with wifi and the signal doesn't work, but I bought more data a few days ago. Its also expensive af compared to buying local sims that include free whats app and social networks alot of the time.

Amazing, until it stops working. It's stopped working for me twice now. The first time, I lost complete connection for hours leaving me stranded in Podgorica. (Help email could only suggest restarting and toggling airplane mode) The app has no offline mode. The second time I wanted to reenter the APN but the app will not show you any eSIM info or help, it's just poof, good luck.. Sorry. Amazing app, but these issues have never happened with regular sim.

Worked like a charm. Installed the e-sim in a few minutes, and once in the US linked to the right network with no problem (following the instructions - Samsung). It is great to see something like this FINALLY in the US. In Europe was so easy for many years to get affordable internet with traveling, now also in the US. And work in urban environment, but also in the mountains, where one could think that coverage could be compromised - but it works with no problem. So... Perfect!

My first time traveling to Asia, got the regional e-sim, purchased in USA, turned on e-sim in Japan. Had to turn phone on and off, and worked flawlessly. Great product, I'm totally happy with it I couldn't recommend it enough. Thank you. Edit: my only reservation was that this was data only and I didn't have an actual phone number so I couldn't use any of the taxi hailing apps while traveling as they require an actual phone number.

I used Airalo for the first time on a trip to New Zealand from the US - usually I buy physical SIMs. The installation process was easy and instructions excellent. There were two not-great pieces: (1) the packages available were data-only and didn't allow calling over WiFi, so I couldn't make calls to the hotels. (Calling over Whatsapp worked). This defeats at least half the point of getting a local SIM. (2) I earned $.80 of "AirMoney" but you have to use more than $1, which felt pointless.

I'm lowering my rating. I've used this app several times, and it's performed ok. However, my recent purchase of a regional eSim is slower than my free low-speed roaming. Waste of money. It never was high-speed, but this is slower than low-speed. It's sooo slow that I frequently get the "No Internet connection" error message for a few seconds when attempting to access something online.

performs as advertised. there is often a delay when first activating the esimm when I arrive in Europe. it seems to take about 30-60 min to become fully recognized and registered to the local network. I have used nation specific cards for each of three trips. I buy the data only plans. I was surprised I used 1Gb in a day, but I was working away from wifi. it was easy enough to pick up a new pre-paid blocked of Data once I was back on wifi.

I used Airalo esim on a recent 10-day trip from US to UK and never had a problem. I traveled with a friend who used TMobile's international access but the responsiveness was very slow or non-responsive. While my esim access worked perfectly. This was my first time using esim and it took me about 10mins at Heathrow to figure out how to initiate it but once I turned off my verizon sim and turn on the esim, all was fine. Just beware Airalo's instructions need to improve. Highly recommend Airalo.

Great prices, so convenient, and easy to configure. No more hunting for SIM cards at airports, nor paying roaming fees to your main carrier on long international trips! And you can get everything ready from home prior to take off, knowing you will be hitting the ground running when arriving at your destination, as soon as you get out of airplane mode!

Airalo was an invaluable tool on my recent trip to Paris. While the setup took a little tinkering when I arrived at the airport, I was good to go once it was done. The service was not quite as fast as what I have at home, but still more than enough for navigation and looking things up. Additionally, by using this service with Google Voice, I was able to send texts and photos to friends and family back in the US for free.

This app is a lifesaver (so far)! Truly one of the best eSIM options for travelers abroad. Set up is easy so long as you follow instructions; the prices are reasonable and up front; and the coverage is great and hastle free. You can even top up your chosen eSIM as necessary to ensure that you always have connection. Bear in mind: cell coverage is only available with global plans. Local and regional are both data only, so make sure you have WhatsApp (or similar) for those. High recommendation.

once I got it to work, it was great! a couple things I noticed when using the esim. it took a bit of time for the sim card to find a connection. when it did, it was slow or would drop out. if I want to make a guess, it's probably the phone itself. so make sure your phone is compatible with whatever bands the country uses. I think there might be a bug somewhere in Google maps. When it was working, Google maps would be the only app that wouldn't load!

Poor customer service Really liked it until it stopped working. When there were multiple reviewers that had similar issues of losing connection and not being able to connect to service you would think the company would address that issue. Instead they send you a manual which did not fix the issue and left you hanging. Had to switch to different service

First time I tried Airalo. Installation of the eSIM went seamlessly and I'm now enjoying 5 GB of data for 30 days while traveling in Germany for just $15. That's a *much* better deal than what my US provider (Mint) offers for international roaming. It's great to have mobile data from the get go, without having to find a place to buy a local SIM card. Based on my experience, I highly recommend this app for international travel.

This really worked and was very affordable. Be sure to watch the android or apple specific video. There's a couple small steps that I missed at first that made my first time a little frustrating & challenging, but the step I missed was covered in the directions. I do wish the specific network was identified for the country. In some countries or areas, it can make a huge difference. I'll definitely be using it again. I couldn't use my normal phone# but I think that was because of my phone & cntry
