An actual enjoyable way to learn languages! I've been using Duolingo for about a year and still struggle quite a bit. This app goes in-depth and explains the meanings as would an actual class. Right now, I am still using Duolingo as my main focus is Dutch, but I have been using this app for German and will probably switch if Dutch is implemented Edit: Dutch is here, and I have fully switched. I hope the widgets get fixed as resizing them breaks the cropping. Other than that, fully recommend it!

Airlearn is somewhat of a new language app and just from a couple of lessons. I've had a better understanding of how grammar and sentence structure. Duolingo struggled to explain the meanings behind words, how they could change depending on the sentence, and the grammar rules. Airlearn, for the most part, helps explain information more thoroughly and makes sure you understand the language at its core basics. LoL, 5/5 stars 🌟

Good app with two flaws that really detract. The learning is good and the app is engaging. There is not enough control over notifications and it is sending too many reminders and some at 11:30 PM, WTH? There is a lot of nonsense in the workflow like weird awards and point systmes that are annoying, meaningless and are just a wasting time. If they fixed those two things it would be a much better experience.

This is a really amazing app, I was pleasantly shocked to see such detailed explanations of a culture, topic or grammar! However, the only downside is that the images seem to be AI generated. I am not really into AI in the art/pictures, so this was a bit of a turn off for me. Otherwise, the app is great!! Although the AI generation left me a little disappointed, the functionality and usefulness of this app is huge.

Genuinely refreshing to use, provides areas for feedback in case there are any issues, really enjoying it. Just to let y'all know there is a small visual error on Google Pixel where the 'you' section is on the app. If you're in that section the banner ads move at light speed, like so fast I can't even read what they are supposed to say. Besides that I've enjoyed the app a lot.

Overall the material itself is good. I mainly have two complaints though. 1. is that there is no test at the beging to check for your proficiency on the language already, meaning you have to start the lessons from the VERY beginning. 2. is the pacing, I just feel like the lesson are too slow. I wish there was some setting to turn off the app checking you between each word on those 'put the words in the correct order to make a sentence' because I find it so annoying.

I really like the layout and appearance of the app. It provides good structure and guides you well during each lesson. But there are some design issues that I feel need to be addressed. During lessons, the image with the cat looking over the edge is cute but it takes up way too much of the screen space. I don't like having to scroll down to choose answers. If that were to move up quite a bit or get rid of it altogether, would make a way better experience.

it was good at first, until when the next day came for my lessons, everything stopped working? it kept saying error, I had really high hopes for this app. I was doing really good and getting decent grades. it's really helpful for context in sentences- and you get to learn the pronunciation easier which helps me! if you can, please fix this glitch, overall decent app with a few bugs.

So far it's been a really good experience. Lessons are easily digestible. Be warned, however, if you have push notifications on, this app will try to get you to take lessons at 3am. Waking up in the middle of the night to "ready to get back to your streak?" is not exactly ideal. Imediatly turned off notos because of that. Edit: A lot of grammatical errors as I go through the lessons which isn't ideal for someone that doesn't know how to look out for them. Doesn't pick up voice well either

It's a good app overall for learning a language from scratch. I like that it explains grammar along the way and incorporates visuals. Lessons are very short, and launch immediately one after another, until you run out of free lessons (5 a day) or until you click the X botton on the bottom left and confirm that you wish to exit the lesson. The cat avatar that is assigned to you doesn't seem to be customizable, sadly. I wish they will add this feature.

Forget Duolingo and use this instead. In a matter of a few weeks I have learned significantly more French than the 6 months I spent with the judgemental bird. The progression here makes sense and teaches you proper grammar and pronunciation instead of making you guess. It explains it all very well instead of skimming over it. Quality over quantity. Duolingo often left me super drained and unmotivated. Unacadamy makes me excited for the next day. Feed the bird to the cat. You'll thank me later.

I saw this advertised (surprisingly) on Duolingo and thought it would be a good 2nd practice option. Installed during lunch & it was sending me notifications all afternoon. Got home from work & blew through the first lessons until I got to the maximum for the daily free lessons. Hadn't been off 5 minutes before it sent another notification urging me to sign up for pro! Didn't see a way to edit the notifications so I uninstalled. Might be good for some but way too many notifications.

Needs work. We should be able to repeat the phases as many times as we want in the pro version. Also, when it says let's go over what we learned, it should get some words from the beginning of what we learned, not just from a few lessons before. It should get words from the very 1st lessons as well.

For an app that wants to stand out from Duolingo, The UI looks almost exactly the same. Pair this with the soulless AI art and big colorful compainion, it feels like a cheap imitation with way too many notifications. It brings more of Duolingo in its streaks, hearts, and leagues and nothing new. That said, the educational part is fine. Early cognates are awesome and the cultural relevance is helpful. But it's obvious an AI wrote everything here. After two days of lessons, I'm uninstalling.

Some of the activities for learning such as the drag and drop ones are too long on the screen so you have to scroll down to view the answers and drag them back up to the top but it doesn't let you scroll while dragging the answer, leaving you stuck on a question unless you just choose to get it wrong. I sent an email so if this is addressed and fixed I would be glad to update my review!

Update: I was fairly taken aback by the use of 반말 right off the bat in the Korean section and gave the app 3/5 for it, I think it's ideal to learn the informal-polite form first. I increased my rating as I've been enjoying the flow of the app, I enjoy that it doesn't linger on topics for too long and sprinkles in reminders for other units in the reviews. Didn't give 5 stars because the home screen widget is broken and repeatedly makes me start from the beginning of a unit and waste a heart.

I've only had it for a week (thanks for not switching to exclusively AI some apps) but I like that it's actual lessons, teaching me the grammar etc (I've been struggling with Russian for 2 years until this app). I just wish there was a friend's option like some other apps so I can compete with my friends that are learning other languages.

First day and I already love it! I like how it walks you through and even speaks with the accent of the language you're learning! It also teaches you more slang or more diverse words. Only downside is that I wish we could do more lessons within a day without having to pay 💔 Still better than Duolingo, especially with Duo starting to use AI.... and having so many ads. I haven't gotten ads on this one! (at least not yet idk)

Pros: I think this is a much more effective tool than Duolingo. Rather than just throwing random vocab at you and letting you figure out the rest, this app takes the time to explain key grammar concepts as they come up Cons: The app uses AI generated images to represent concepts, and sometimes when they are first introduced they are COMPLETELY wrong. When it introduced the Spanish word for beer, it just showed a fancy ceiling with a bunch of lights. Going forward it was fine, but still

I switched to this app after Duolingo announced switching to an AI team. I've only just started my Japanese (the language I was learning on Duolingo) and already learning more than I did in the months of using Duolingo. Each lesson doesn't just show you the new words, it teaches you the grammar behind it and why things are the way that they are. I would love an option to customize our characters, whether that be the cat or other animals options, would be fun!
