I've been using the app with no problems, but now I cannot even open it. It keeps saying 'oops, something went wrong. Please restart the app'. I restarted the app and the phone, cleared the data and the cache, uninstalled the app, etc., but it's still not working.

Tapping on the page closes an article. Videos in 9:16 play horizontally. I have yet to see any updates that fix these issue or any others I have read. I cannot send any feedback, in the app, since it takes me to SurveyMonkey and says "You have already taken this survey".

Excellent world news reporting but access to videos or TV is not always available. I am using the app on my Samsung phone with Android 10. Since posting that, I *have* succeeded in accessing videos, but *not* every time - do you think I may have a problem with my broadband service? I have no such issues with the BBC and Channel 4 apps...

First thing I look at when I open my phone. Great changes made to when viewing an article you just press the x or the go back button before I was always touching the screen by accident halfway through the article I'm having to go through it again and again and again.

While I appreciate the mix of languages on the app, I can't copy or highlight the words I don't know to translate them. Nor can I access regions by category; I have to search for "Africa" or Asia or Europe or Latin America if I want just news on a region You said you would change , but i can't copy text to translate it (I was told in June 2022 that you'd fix it, but to no avail as of yet...still nothing changed June 2024)

It's good journalism, but as others have said, a slow and difficult app, oversensitive to a single touch, hard to navigate (it deliberately makes the index page look similar to a story) and no particular features. In addition, it seems to have used 100 times more foreground mobile data in a week than the BBC News app for same amount of screen time. I'm just going to bookmark AJ English in my browser.

This app UX/UI is painfully clunky. If you select more than one language/ station, and you turn on notifications, clicking on the notifications doesn't take you to the actual story they refer to. When you play videos, the slightest movement of your phone and the video stops. Why would the app need to read any gyro data coming off the phone?

I have loved this app for years for the worldwide news focus. Now, suddenly, when I click on a notification of breaking news, a VIDEO starts playing loudly and interrupts everything and everyone in the room! I need to be able to choose when a loud video will start! I may have to turn off notifications for this terrific app!

Why did the live feed start without me tapping anything? The app fails to register some taps altogether, and is very slow, clunky, and not very intuitive. I understand wanting to get an updated app out, but it seems like this may not have been tested very thoroughly, and is just unpleasant to use over all. Will continue using older app for now.

The current version of the app is buggy: it crashes on opening. In general, the app is only of medium quality. I don't love the tap to toggle an article, since I often accidentally close an article while I'm in the middle of reading it. The news is of course high quality and interesting though, so I power through it.

Great news source but the app is frustratingly bad. Two main complaints: -Auto rotate on videos when I have disabled it on my system. I don't like auto rotate, that's why I turned it off on my system. However the app ignores this and rotates videos anyway and it makes the video stop and start every time -a single tap closes whatever article you are reading. This should be a swipe gesture and/or a back button. It's so easy to accidentally close your article with just a single tap.

This app is way worse than the original. The graphics are more appealing, but the function is bad. I can't save articles for later; accidently tapping the screen closes the article; if I need to swipe down on my phone to look at a notification, the article scrolls back up; sometimes I open the app and it's just blank, no articles; sometimes it's just the same handful of articles as you continue to scroll down. Just all these little glitches that the previous app didn't have.

This app is not improving. The articles are great but the format is awful. If your hand slips when you are scanning you get thrown back the beginning of the article. This happens multiple times. The writing app is also very hard to use. It doesn't respond to taps when selecting a word and insists upon substituting nonsense words. Lastly but most importantly, the video app is totally intrusive and difficult to disconnect. What happened to the old app. Please bring it back. Thank you. Lmalnassy ⁴

The old app was better. This one is poorly organized. I cannot find sections easily. It seems to have less functionality than the old one. Sometimes videos start playing at random, and I can't even see them to turn it off. I have to scroll through the same articles many times to find the one I want. It seems there are articles missing. I cannot find articles by region. When I try to search for an article, sometimes articles from 7 years ago appear before the one from today.

I don't like the new design. Please bring the old one back. It started out with a lot of bugs but most of them has been fixed. The app is an unorganized mess right now. Its now a constant feed that just roll on. You now just click on the article to read it and if hit the back button it will just close the app. They've combined video into text articles. When you read the articles the video now follow on the screen as a pop-up automatically playing not taking into consideration for sounds.

The app itself has technical issues. When I get a notification on my phone of a story, I would like to tap that notification and be taken to that exact story. Instead, I tap it and I'm taken to the main page instead. Then I have to spend several minutes looking for the story I actually want to read. Also, I believe the news service itself is somewhat biased and not always fully factual. It's good enough to be useful but not the best.

The absolute best news source out there. Reliable, fair, and most importantly, factual! They really cover news from around the world. Their programs are fascinating and excellent. But I wish the app would be better--it's slow, often freezes, so sometimes I go through chrome. But for the coverage, it's worth it. My only complaint is with the app. Please improve it, so it doesn't discourage people from accessing your content.
