One of the better airline apps. Provides access to flight reservations, check-in, meal, ordering, and other features and functions. One minor detail that could be improved is showing flight departure and boarding times on boarding passes. Kind of strange that these seem to be omitted. Otherwise it's a really good app.

I like a few things about the app, but I would say there is room for improvement. For example, check-in should be done right from the trip screen. I should be able to see my flight and click check-in. The system then grabs needed information and begins the process. What happens right now is I have to go to another menu, paste my ticket number in, paste my mileage number in, and then I can continue the process. There should also be a place to scan any applicable IDs into the system for baggage

It needs work... it's great to have a boarding pass available easily, but all of the features don't seem to align. You have to order food a day or more in advance, but it also seems you have to check in to order, but you can only check in 24 hours before the flight? Something doesn't check out there. I've now had 2 flights where food was supposed to be available, but the button and option to order were grayed out and never made available. Their loss, honestly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I love Alaska Airlines and this app WAS very user friendly. Easy to use and keeped me updated on any changes with my flights. It worked perfectly for all your needs. There are No ads in this app, which is exactly how I want it. UNFORTUNATELY, it was updated and I can add a reservation but cannot make one.. I get ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE. I've uninstalled it and added it again; same respose. It is so VERY frustrating. I have to call Alaska Airlines every time I want to do anything.

I rely on this app for most all of my travel (since Alaska has so many flights out of PDX - Portland, Oregon)...that I'm flying Alaska almost exclusively. It makes the check in and TSA so much nicer (with digital boarding passes and so much more that integrates with your mobile device... For example, you can easily add the flight info to your calendar, check - in and change seats, make flight changes when necessary, etc.). I think they've done a good job with the app.

I'm a frequent flyer (Gold 75k) and have been using the Alaska app for years. This latest major release of is in my opinion significantly less intuitive than the previous version. Well I have used it numerous times, Its difficult to remember where to find the various things that I need like check in, order food and especially navigatung to The boardroom verification. I can eventually get there, but I am not a big fan of the current layout.

Outstanding ability to book, view flight ststus/changes, make changes, get a seat, change a seat and check in - all from the comfort of your easy-chair. Only down side - quite minor actually - is the frequency of the apps failure to "clear the flight line" resulting in having to re-input the trip details etc. Other than that, it performs adequately.

Great app, easy to use and updates fast when the situation changes. Very few crashes out errors over the years I've used it. One suggestion might be nice to be able to save boarding passes to PDF when checking in on the app. I book flights for my college kids and I prefer to email them and have them print in case they run out of battery on their phone during a flight delay, connection, or etc.

Great app, really helpful, especially when flying and it gives you all the updates and your boarding pass right there! One of the glitches I've noticed is that you cant go back and edit the search terms (like date of travel or whether or not to use miles) without starting completely over. Kind of annoying, but the actual travel, booking, and the rest of the app are pretty seamless!

great for checking in and managing flight. Not as good for exploring flight options, searching fares, comparing options, and purchasing. Sometimes I'm bored and just want to explore where I could adventure off to - surprised they don't make this experience better for when I'm on a flight and could be booking my next adventure with them right from my phone. 🙂

Mixed feelings about using this app. The pro is the convenience of making changes and booking on line. Several cons include difficulty in performing some operations and it keeps beeping me to take some action like check in 24 hours prior to departure over and over again. I need to know how many bags etc. that I don't know until closer to departure. I have not found a way to stop the notifications. I finally temoved the app until I was traveling again. Try it out for yourself.

I love Alaska Airlines in general, and their app has only gotten better with time. There are occasionally hiccups here and there, but honestly as of this writing the app is really solid, easy to use, consistent, and includes what you need. If you're flying regularly, there's no other way. Digital boarding pass, adjust your seats and flights, bookings, etc... It can do it all and isn't a painful or egregiously slow process.

Update 2/5/2020....The Alaska app seems to be improved and I have not had issues purchasing, checking in, getting credit for miles, etc. Easy to use. 2017 review: Their app works sometimes, but often, it won't let me check in for a flight. If I've already checked in on my computer at home, it doesn't have my boarding pass in the app, I have to go to my email confirmation to get it. Seems pretty quirky for a high profile company like Alaska Airlines.

Works better in Dec. 18, still a few hitches in work flow, but I can log in and see flights, and get a boarding pass. Would still not use it for buying flights. OLD: Completely useless. I can log in fine on the web page, with no issues, but the app refuses to take the same credentials, claiming a connection issue. Using the same connection my desktop handles without issue. A travel app with connection issues of any sort is a major fail. You do not want this to happen when you're headed to the gate in a hurry!

The App layout is nice. Functionality is good. The cons are: the app continually displays messages as unread- i.e: I have a message telling me to ✅ in, but I already did. Second guessing myself, I did the process again. Every motion; for the 2nd time. The message to check in is still marked as unread even after the 2nd ✅ in, & I'm certain I could redo the ✅ in for a 3rd time if I wanted. Not a terrible bug, but a bug nonetheless. I was still able to get my boarding pass. Not a big deal.

App is easy to use for booking, viewing, and managing trips but it is NOT complete replacement for desktop website. It would be a big improvement, for example, if companion fares or wallet funds could be applied to new travel via the app but the app is well worth having just for easy access to paperless boarding pass. More importantly the airline is great to work with as well. Almost always great service and when if something does go wrong they are very good at making things right again.

I have to close the app if I want to check other airports or make a change. Not convenient. It would be great if I could get rates for all airports in a certain proximity (for example, all airports near LA). Southwest does have this option on their app. Please consider these changes. Thx!

The app works inconsistently and doesn't accept my mileage number, and is not adding any miles. It's not intuitive and is a pain to check in for flights because my flights don't always show up and if they don't show up, it asks me to use my miles number and to look up the flight, but it doesn't accept my mile's number so won't let me check in. I only fly Alaska when I have to because it meets the times that I need for my job. Otherwise I'd rather use Delta or Southwest because their apps work

This is my first time using the app. Big problem trying to sign in. AFTER entering my email and password, it gives me this verification screen with NO "verify" button to move on! Well, on my fourth attempt, I accidentally swiped up a little and low and behold, HIDDEN below was the "verify" button. Idiotic design to not have the whole thing visible on the screen. And why? To leave the bottom half of the screen to sign up for the milage plan - which I already did, so what's the point?! Aaargh!

I wish every airline app was like this. Quick, responsive, intuitive, easy to use with all the features you need without being cluttered. Someone at Alaska needs to tell British Air how to make an app. This is how all airline apps should be. Thank you Alaska devs! The only add-on I'd like to see is the ability to easily switch/swap destination and departure city (as opposed to retyping both in the opposite spots). Priceline and Google maps have this feature, and it would be helpful when booking.
