App crashes within a few seconds of startup almost every time. Tried clearing cache, clearing data, completely reinstalling, no change. Emailed tech support a month ago and never even received a reply. It's like shouting into a black hole. This app will soon be my only way to deposit checks when Alliant turns off web deposits in July. Time to look for a new bank, I suppose.

Despite supposedly investing in mobile banking and moving away from traditional banking, Alliant hasn't really made much of a change. Their mobile app has had the same design for a few years now. It's now just plain. In terms of features, they don't really like to add them. The mobile app is really basic by todays standards. Alliant isn't really innovative and nowhere is that more apparent than their mobile app. They need to make changes.

Unable to deposit checks on the Android app. It uploads the image of the front of the check fine, but when it tries to upload the image of the back of the check, it just shows a spinning circle that never ends. Frustrating. Both the app and Android system are updated to most recent versions. Samsung Galaxy S10+ phone.

I love banking with Alliant. The app is very useful and convenient for my current needs. After over a year and a half, I had only one complaint. When depositing checks, the app never wanted to accept the picture of the back. I had to take that picture over and over and OVER! It only accepted the picture of the back on the first try about 20% of the time, and I think I'm being generous. But I just made a deposit and it looks like they fixed this problem. They have a whole new process! 😁

This app was improved for a bit but now has again become incredibly glitchy. Pretty much cancels out the whole point of having an app when you have to go to the website to do anything. Really disappointing. Just updated the app. No noticeable difference from before. Always requires multiple attempts before it actually opens and allows me to log in.

I switched from a different credit union, and despite initial hesitation about going completely online I have zero regrets. The app can be a little slow to open but truthfully it's probably more my phone than the app itself. All of my regular banking needs are very easy and convinient, the ATM locator auto updates with my phone's location, and the ATM fee refunds are almost instantaneous! For both my small business and personal use, I highly, HIGHLY recommend Alliant Credit Union!

Just opened my first account based on reviews about the bank itself. The app however, is not user friendly, especially for new comers as there is not a lot of instructions. I've had to call several times for assistance. After finally getting set up via app, I'm still not sure what I'm doing. It would be very beneficial to make the app itself simpler.

This app... When I first opened an account was perfect. Easy to use. Secure. Now and for over a month now every time I try to open the app it crashes right away. I've done everything I can on my side. Deleted and redownload..cleared Cashe and data. Nothing helps. It just crashes as soon as it opens. Since you've been unable to fix. I'm gonna take my $ from this bank and close the acct. It's useless now since you can't use the app AT ALL!! The fact a month and no fix is disgusting.

It seems like with each new update, something new gets broken. With this latest update, I can no longer deposit checks through the app. The camera goes into some kind of strange flipped, stretched mode, and it won't accept any photos I take of the check. Also, the app supposedly supports biometric authentication, but there is still no option for enabling it on my Pixel 4 XL.

Flawless app, most of the time. When multi tasking between apps, this application seems to stop working. It closes out and Android displays a message that the app has stopped. Not that reassuring if you were in the middle of a transaction. Other than that, I like the feature of displaying account balances before logging in. Big time saver

The app used to work great on my device but a recent update locked it out. Now it only says "this app cannot be used on your device." This presumably has something to do with my bootloader being unlocked in order to run LineageOS. Note to the developers: many of us need to use a third-party ROM in order to get regular Android security updates on older devices. My phone is not rooted and, ironically, is far more secure than it would be had I kept running the ancient vendor image. Bad move!

So when I tried to log on, there is a popup that tells you an update is needed. I've tried twice , each time Google Play just sits there with the little wheel spinning. When you close the popup window, the app logs you out. The app has worked ok up until now Update- so, in desperation, I uninstalled the app and try to reinstall, and all that happens is that you the spinning circle and it saying pending. This app stinks!

Alliant has always been an easy and stress-free way to bank. This recently changed with what seems like a new imaging system for mobile deposits. As others state, the back image is never captured. I also receive multiple errors when depositing saying the endorsement is missing/incomplete when it is not. So right now, mobile banking with Alliant is not easy or stress free. Also, what was once one of the most competetive interest rates is slow to catch up to many others. Reconsidering.

Note: this is a review on the app itself, not the bank as a whole. The app is... just okay. Pros: Looks great. The UI is very coherent. The ATM finder works well and I've had zero issues transferring money from different banks or accounts within Alliant Cons: The UX is... lacking. Navigating around feels unintuitive. Just the layout of everything seems poorly thought out. More importantly, the app does randomly crash (e.g. when revealing the account number and quickly swapping apps, or even just signing in). The help chat feature has strange text restrictions -- I will write simple messages but it says I have invalid characters. And also, the app is >100 MB. Why???

I see a lot of people having issues with deposits and I just have to say that I have not experienced that? Though I can't get the balance preview to work it just loads forever unless I look for an atm and then exit from that screen, but otherwise the app works and the service via messages is really nice.

The only bank i have ever genuinely liked...They don't overcharge me for silly things like monthly maintenence fees or having a checking account no crazy overdraft fees. The app is simple to use. It's also very safe. They have all the passwords and security everything's. The only thing it's missing, I would say, is someway to send money easily to a non member, and perhaps a budgeting tool ? It shows your balances after each transaction which is very nice. It's a great bank and a great app.

Edit: 08/27/24: Now there's "No Transaction" history in my savings accounts.. 06/2024: Its been VERY slow, to the point where I cant actually do anything: transfer money from saving to checking etc. For an exclusively online bank, this isnt acceptable as there is no brick & mortar to visit to get things done. Original review: It's a great app! So far there hasn't been anything that I could not do. Very easy to navigate, transfer, pay things..

This review is for the app itself, not the credit union. The app itself is average. It's simple to get basic acct info but that's about it. Log-in is very buggy. About once a month it loses my biometric info and I have to retype my password and then reenable biometrics. As other say, Deposit feature is very buggy. Frustratingly buggy. Unfortunate to see reviews from 01/23 reporting this and here I am in 09/24 saying the same. I do most things on the PC because it's easier than the app.

Honestly a god awful app. Normally I wouldn't really care but with money you don't really want an app this horrible. Several scheduled payments I make just...never go through. Then I've tried to pay it after and then the scheduled payment comes out on a totally random day that I didn't schedule it for. You can't even just pay something the same day? I tried to just pay the due payment and it had to wait until Wednesday. Just a huge pain.

App needs a little work, but overall it works well. It's very frustrating to have to enter a one time security code for every single login... As if I wasn't using the very device to which the code was sent (device recognition does not work). And some time ago Alliant broke the pattern recognition so Android doesn't recognize it and offer a Copy option. manually entering the code, toggling back and forth between texts and the app. No other app does this. Please fix it. Alliant itself is great!
