App seems to be unable to find/use QuicDic. I've this dictionary app installed and selected ad the default under AIReader yet I'm told by Al that the dictionary is not installed. ~~~ Good reader. A lot of options to customize your reading experience. TTS works great. TTS is found under Menu/Actions/Text-to-speech.

Please make this awesome app compatible with Android Auto! Would love to continue listening to books in my car. Currently AA overrides volume control to a music app like Spotify instead of increasing volume of text-to-speech. Would also be nice to display book name, chapter progress and start/stop button.

Excellent ereader app. Best I've used yet (& I've tried a lot!) Very customizable, handles lots of formats. Takes awhile to get used to the options, since there are many, but well worth the time to learn. Really pleased to have found this. Just wish I could figure out how to search my author list... A+ app.

Pretty good, a few complaints but nothing really worth mentioning. Minor annoyances only. I have been using it for about a year now over 3 devices. Decent ui, text to voice is better then most, definitely better than Kindle app., update-- app is still working great but refuses new books. Not sure why, started when the Dec android update came out.

Overall a very good reader functionally. I especially like the textured background which I have not seen on any other app. So why only three stars ? Fonts, or lack of them. It is beyond me why there are so many font choices bu they are basically the same block style. Why no standard fonts like Times New Roman, Bookman, Georgian, Palatino, etc ? The Serif and Sans Serif are identical it seems. Uninstall and go back to my previous app until you add real font choices.

I absolutely love this app, and highly recommend it. However, I can only give it 4 stars. It needs the ability to load in colored text, like other readers do. I have a docx that has colored text to separate who's talking, but it only comes up as bold text. Would easily change to 5 stars if this feature is added.

UPDATE: What happened? This update killed the use of TTS in AI Reader. It reads for a few pages, then stops, then it freezes & I can't even manually turn the pages. I can own the menu but no matter what i select, it doesn't perform the selected function. When it does read, the voice speeds up & slows down while reading, even though I haven't hit +/-. (I have not updated Google's TTS, not changed TTS languages, & not changed the selected TTS voice. The only update was AI Reader.)

I'm a reader not a gamer. I love that ALReader's interface is so customizable. Makes it possible to read books faster than I could reading the paper book. I have over 1500 epub & mobi files and I'm constantly adding more. ALReader is my go-to for reading on my phone. The TTS feature lets me listen to a book while commuting to and from work. No trees died for my books! I've been using AL Reader for three years now without a single glitch across four different phones and several updates. Keep up the great work Mr Neverland!!!

Great reader. I have used a couple diffrent readers. But this one is the best. The ability to change styles and fonts is well made, easy to understand. Love the text to read option. It uses google text. Easy to understand. Like a loved one reading you to sleep. So many diffrent options, still very easy 2 use. Never asked for money, no ads. Just a free gift from a great programmer. Thank you.

Reliable, easy to use, does everything I need. I've used it for over 5 years on 3 different phones and it worked perfectly in all cases. I've read 100+ books on it too. The only feature that would be nice that's not there already is pinch zooming on book cover images or the images of maps of the book's world found in a number of books. Setting the app up initially takes a bit of time as there are a lot of options, but this means it can do just about everything everyone using it is likely to need

I like this ebook reader significantly more than any other that I've tried. You have so much more control over the look and feel of the display. The text-to-speech is good, though it does mispronounce some words. "Dr." is always spoken as "Drive," when it should be "Doctor." I'd give it a '5' if hitting 'pause' on my headphones paused and restarted the TTS, but it kills the program. You can set up 9 different "tap zones," one of which I've set to begin text-to-speech, others to navigate.

Exactly as described: a lightweight, useful, ad-free app for reading documents of many kinds, including types not read by most programs. The ability to change brightness and switch between dark or light background make it easy to ensure readability in a variety of conditions. I wish I could edit rich text files with it, but that's not the advertised purpose so I can't hold the lack against it. I've downloaded the app on every phone I've had since discovering it, and find it invaluable!

Unlike many other reader app that takes long time to load and change page of huge file, this app is excellent on on handling them. it also support night mode, font setting, color management for text/background and many other popular features. There are little ad but not annoying at all. i have tried many readers for epub and plain text, this is the best. BTW it supports ZIP files too.

Not the easiest to learn at first, and scrolling isn't smooth, but the selling point of the TTS is pretty great. It doesn't sound like a human, but rarely any words are mispronounced, even most made-up words and names, and spacing between words is quite natural. It speaks clearly and words sound even, like they're actually being said as a sentence or full word rather than individual syllables. I use this to read to me before bed when I'm trying not to look at a screen, pretty good so far.

The app isn't bad by any measure, but the most important feature to me, text to speech, is spotty at best. The app has had a problem for years with sporadically skipping huge portions of text. Most consistently, if there is an ellipses the app skips the entire section on any document I've got, even after repeatedly uninstalling and wiping the data for it. If this bug were fixed this would be my go to reader.

Ai reader is easily the most efficient, user-friendly, and simple text-to-speech reader phone app. It reads epub, txt, mobile files and I've even had success with converted pdfs. As long as your software is up to date, it runs seamlessly in the background (fingers crossed that continues). Other tts apps are full of excess content, ads, and often don't even function in the background. Don't waste your time with anything else. AI reader knows it's user base and understands functionality.

I have used AlReader for several years on numberous devices and I even recommended it to my computer-illiterate father for reading his books. Very very nice app. It's my primary app for reading ebooks on my tablet and for listening to ebooks (using TTS) on my phone while in the car. Two features I'd like to see: 1. I'd like to be able to set it up to begin TTS immediately upon startup. Like I said above, a major use case for me is listening to ebooks while driving. This option would make it less likely that I'd crash my car while starting up my book-read. :-) It would also make it a bit more compatible (for me) with Android Auto. 2. Built-in Solarized colors might be nice. I have already set this up on my tablet manually -- nice to be able to do this! -- but having it built-in would save a bit of work when installing it fresh on a new device.

Highly customizable reading app, easy to navigate, easy to make bookmarks. Reflows text when you zoom to different font sizes. Scans local folders quickly to make a local library on your device, to be viewable by author or titles. Quick to load. My most favorite ebook reader. Just wish the Windows version worked like the great Android one!

Need an app to replace Libby and still read library books? This app seems to do the trick. Disappointed that Libby will no longer support Android 7. However I was thrilled to come across this little gem. I loaded it on my tablet and a phone. My library allowed me to download the book I was reading to both devices so when one is charging I can still read on the other. It is easy to use from the start. Very basic which is my preference.

Nice, lightweight app for reading epubs. I think this app may have been translated from another language, which is why some buttons have different text (like the back button being "up"), but it's easy to navigate once you get used to it. You can also change background page colors too, which is nice.
