Artemis is a digital director's viewfinder designed for cinematographers, directors, and anyone interested in filmmaking, photography, cameras, and film. Artemis works in much the same way as a traditional director's viewfinder but more accurately and with many more features.

If you have any issues please email us anytime for support. We are very happy to help!

By selecting your camera, an aspect ratio and a list of lenses, Artemis allows you to compose shots with the same field of view as the camera/lenses you will be shooting with. You can then save images, complete with focal length, GPS data, compass heading, tilt and roll, date and time, camera/lens information, and much more. A great tool for any level of filmmaker, Artemis is perfect for location scouting, storyboarding, blocking, rehearsal and preproduction.

For lenses wider than the your devices camera's field of view, Artemis adds "padding" on the screen. While this is not ideal, it's our best solution for getting around the limitations of the camera in your device.

Artemis has been field tested with every camera in our database to make sure that the field of view is correct. No other multiformat director's viewfinder has as many camera specific formats or lens sets.

Please note that field of view is measured from the "nodal point", roughly mid way down the length of the lens, in keeping with the method used by lens manufacturers.

Bad for the price. Wrong angles on Google Pixel. No possibilities to record video, change focus and exposure. ("Cadrage" has it for less price)

Where is the Artemis pro update? Lenses are completely off since it doesn't properly support phones made after 2017. Absolute garbage and useless unless I dust off my old phone 3 years later 2020 still no support for new phones lens sizes not accurate

Wish it was made clear a huge feature difference between iOS and Android. As it stands, GPS functionality along with other features missing from Android

Hi Team, my app is not working again and I had sent you an email sometime back for the same but didn't get any reply from you. Can you please look into it and resolve the issue at the earliest. If it can't be resolved I would request you to process the refund. Thanks!

Really doesn't hold up on set. Too slow. Crops in when taking pictures at different focal lengths. Leads me to screenshot instead of using the inbuilt function

I love the idea of this app but it's so riddled with bugs. I can't take pictures, the app just crashes. End up having to take screenshots but even then the app will crash 50% of the time.

Can't record videos on Android as of Feb 2020. Klunky UI . Keeps crashing. Really wanted it to work and would have loved to give a great review. But even as a film student it wasn't cutting it for me.

Used to work great, but now I truly can't trust this app at all. Field of view changes when I take a photo, and the Anamorphic functionality changed, making it confusing. I'm a professional Cinematographer, so I will try the beta "pro" app, but it's a shame they left this app to die...

Used to be a great app but has been dead in the water for months. The buggy state and incomplete database make it an app to avoid. Very disappointed that the developer seems to have shifted to a new more maintained Artemis Pro app while leaving previous customers in the cold.

Completley inacurate to the point of being useless my Huawei P9. Switched to a free app that is less fancy but does the job and is accurate. Costumer service did not help, the app's calibration tool is useless and reinstalling did not work.

DO NOT BUY. Buggy as hell. Not updated since Feb 2020. Hasn't worked fully on any phone I've had. Support ignores requests for help (or refunds). This just appears to sit in the app store to confuse people looking for the newer (equally expensive) version of the app. Maybe that one works but I'm sure as heck not gonna pay £30 twice.

Unfortunately I was under the impression I would get the newest Artemis app when it released on Android (which it is now). I don't understand why this app is still for sale when the newest version is literally the same thing with added features. This was really tricky on the developers part and I spent a lot of money and didn't receive what I thought I was buying. No response from the developer as I emailed them when I bought it. So disappointing.

I've been using this app for a few years now and has always been an essential tool for me as a DoP, trying to figure out and line up my shots or to pre-viz any of my shoots. It's been an incredibly useful app, but the Android version is definitely lacking in comparison to the Apple version. Additionally, I've recently upgraded my phone from a Samsung Galaxy S10 to a Google Pixel 6 and realized the camera resolution quality the app uses is utter garbage. Please fix and improve for Android phones!

The developers abandoned this version of the app is favour of another one that also costs $40. And that new app is still "in development". Don't waste your money on either version, I wouldn't trust this developer not to do it again and charge you more money for another version. In terms of functionality in this version, it works on, but the image quality is terrible on longer lens options, and the accuracy to the cameras isn't great.

Once loaded, the app shuts down every time I tried to take a picture. I lost a week's worth of work because I couldnt get it to work, and the client specifically asked for this app. It doesnt appear to work with Android phones (despite being told it does), it doesn't work to shut off phone them restart it, nor to uninstall/reinstall the app, and the apk debug they sent ro patch the problem doesnt load. So far a total waste of money.
