I've been using Aves as my default gallery for over a week. I'm very pleased with the customization options, & it is AD-FREE!! 🆓 I organize my photos by albums/folders, so the app homepage is the albums list. I like to favorite and share photos--very quick and easily accessible. For features I don't use, I am able to hide the buttons to keep a clutter-free interface. Moving & renaming images is possible WITHIN the app, no need to open my file explorer app. Glad I found this hidden gem!! 👏🏼

Really good app. Only issue is that I used to be able to auto play videos without the app stopping whatever I had playing in the background (YouTube). One day, it just stopped doing that. Now, when I auto play a video, it stops the other app I'm using, and if I press play on that app, the Aves video stops. So I have to choose between one or the other, whereas I used to be able to have both going at the same time. Edit: Fixed. Can now watch videos without interruption. Updated app to 5 stars.

Edit: Issue was fixed it seems, thanks devs, now pretty much perfect for me. OLD: It works nice aside from one annoying issue. Sometimes when I move an image to another album it becomes unviewable, saying it's a webp file, they were perfectly viewable before and now they don't show on any image viewing app, I have to convert the images to view again, please fix.

Hi dev, I can't see your reply. My phone probably needs a reset. Anyway, scanning the other replies I see you fixed one of my complaints so just FYI I probably didn't try that version as I haven't used the app in like a month, I've been opening all my photos from 7-zip as I temporarily gave up on gallery apps. (Yours is the best I've tried, I just cba to deal with the bugs.) I also saw you want reports on GitHub so I'll do that assuming I don't see a report there already.

Though I think the stats are kind of cool, the showing of country isn't really useful for most people. Tags are handy at least. But there's absolutely no photo editing. You can find a Gallery that has at least basic options. If it's purpose is to be soley a Gallery, a nesting folders feature would at least make it competitive.

Great gallery app! Way better than Google's! Lots of cool features and very intuitive! And best of all it's ad free like a gallery should be! Had to use an external site to find an ad free gallery because Google's starting to blow and won't let you filter searches! The only drawback I noticed with this app is there's no donation option.. I'd like to buy this dev a beer or two or ten! Thanks a lot! Keep up the good work!

Makes a good first impression so far. Happy I found it to replace Quickpic, used happily on my Pixel 3 instead of Google Photos, doesn't understand files segregated in folders instead of just date. But freshly installing Quickpic on new Pixel 7A revealed it to be full of obnoxious advertising; was ready to pay $6 to buy pro version to avoid, but then read reviews about how it sucked too. Too bad. Whereas Aves does what I want, appears simple yet powerful.

I'm highly impressed. A very solid implementation of what feels like a basic necessity. After a phone change and loss of the gallery app I was accustomed to, it was truly refreshing to find this. The high degree of customization has let me fix some of my biggest gripes with other apps such as the ability to toggle delete prompts and what interface buttons were available. Best of all, it appears this app actually respects my privacy with no third party sharing and at most opt in analytics.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for this beautiful, functional free app. I have been looking for a gallery app that is simple and sorts my photos into albums. Google photos just looks like a big mess to me when I open it, but this app makes my photos look neat and organized. I can't thank you enough. There are no annoying ads, so one can quickly access photos when they need to without having to wait through multiple ads and videos to play. This is the best. Thank you from my heart!❤️

I came looking for a gallery app to replace quick pic (which wasn't working with my new phone). Aves has the setup like quick pic on I can pin any folder to the toplike quick pic. There are so many more options now to sort and I love the meta data features. As you go through your photos if you swipe up it will show when it was taken as well as a map of where it was taken. Helps over the years to remember where a pic was taken.

After switching to a non-Samsung brand I've found this to be the best third party gallery app. The ability to tag photos is extremely useful and the interface is intuitive. My feedback: very occasionally there are crashes and it would be cool if there was an option to make the favorited icon for the thumbnails red so that favorited photos can be easier to spot, and if gifs could auto-play in the thumbnail view like they do in the similar F-Stop Gallery. Overall I like this gallery app the best.

A very worthy contender to be one of the best gallery apps alongside Simple Gallery. Very nice aesthetics throughout the app. However it would be nice to be able to sort by ascending or descending and have per folder sort settings. Another small nitpick, the navigation drawer and context menus are dark grey instead of black like the rest of the app when the dark theme is selected. I guess its designed this way? Everything else about the app is great, excellent work.

Absolutely wonderful photo gallery app with just a couple of quirks. I can't for the life of me work out how it chooses the thumbnail image for each album/folder. Sometimes it's the image with the newest "modified" date, but sometimes it's something that I can't identify. In what may be a related issue, its image sorting is unpredictable: I choose to sort by file name and it does so... mostly... with some baffling out-of-order exceptions in every album/folder. Still my favorite gallery app.

5 stars and well deserved. So far, no problems. It is visually pleasing and every function that I have used worked as designed. It is very obvious that the programmer cares about it and puts in great effort. I am also surprised that this is free and ad free. (I found out that there is a way to donate). Looking forward to new updates and improvements. Oh... thanks for giving it a unique name instead of just . . . Gallery.

Wanted to rate 5 stars but reduced to 4 stars after an issue with the app preventing some new pictures and videos from showing up in the gallery, forcing me to use the stock gallery app or My Files. It's an otherwise solid gallery app that plays videos and displays pictures great. However, the lack of a built-in simple photo editor is also another drawback but easily overlooked.

I'm really impressed with this app's user interface - it's so well-organized. What truly sets it apart for me is the ability to relocate photos without losing their capture date and time. This is incredibly helpful for keeping my photo library organized. It would be really wonderful if you guys could make a file management app-- I'm always losing the time date stamp when moving (audio) files. Thank you

So far the best image and video gallery app out there all simplistic and customizable to your liking, being able to set a color to your folders/groups is a great touch as well! Notice a bug(?) where if you set an image as your wallpaper or lock screen wallpaper it'll boot you to the apps main menu when the operation is finished, kinda annoying if you're in the middle of a massive folder (cus I'm a meme hoarder)

good but... the app needs an option to select all photos in an album or other so they can be easily moved second when i was using their vault options i had a few really important pictures become corrupt i believe they couldn't be moved or viewed stating the files no longer existed when i did and so i tried closing and opening the app with the problem still existing

I think I just got my entire SD card's data deleted because I tried to cancel the deletion of a SINGLE photo. The app is very slow to delete things on my phone, and I got impatient. It wouldn't stop even after hitting the X, so I just closed the app. Two seconds later, poof. Card wiped. Gone. Now, I should have been more patient, yes. But this is a ludicrous, catastrophic bug and needs immediate attention. Assuming that's what it really is of course. I don't know anything about file storage

Uses standard metadata fields for tagging and searching which means the data goes with the file when you transfer it back and forth! It also supports the standard 5 star rating system so I can now do keywords and ratings that stay with the photos! Lots of settings and access to data. When I tap edit within this app, I can set the editor to the Google Photo Editor and all my extra editors I have downloaded but not the Samsung photo editor. I hope there is a way.
