Awful App. Constantly logs me out, regardless of how often I log in and will not remember user name or password. When trying to pick a rental after landing, the list is never updated. When I select a car, it's always taken requiring me to go to the stand to get a car assignment. Useless App, only good for locking me out of my Avis account.

I thought it was just this app, but actually the whole Avis system is inept. I now have 3 accounts with Avis that I can't log into. One says I don't have an account even though I have an active reservation with them. One says it's linked to my Amazon account but I can't add a credit card. Then the last one I also can't add a credit card. I give up. I guess this preferred membership just isn't for me. Amazon is partnering with this dumpster fire? Crazy.

Has some basic features, but fails basic functionality at high-leverege situations. For example, it does not allow you to select one of your saved credit cards when you are trying to check out and switch payment; instead it makes you enter it from scratch. Also, the GPS location tracking does not appear to work as it said I was not in the proper location when I was returning the car, even though I was right where I picked up the car.

This would be a lot better if the Share Receipt button worked. It's the only problem I've really run across with this app. Edit: It would also be nice if when I select Fuel Plan as an option that it goes through to the place I'm renting from. Edit 2: Changing this to 1 star. So much of this app doesn't work. It's not possible to use the Return Car feature. It errors every time. Please work on making the functionality of this app better. It's really a hassle.

My problem (with this and the Budget app) is neither takes a hyphenated last name, which is how it is displayed on my passport and frequent flyer programs. I tried to activate the Presidential status from an airline which I am qualified, it tells me my last name doesn't match what's in Avis profile. I've told both companies more than half a dozen times and every time I still have to go to the counter instead of going to my reserved car. For this reason I've been going back to Hertz.

This app is a consistent failure. I am almost never able to select a car despite being preferred and booking in advance. It works perhaps 10% of the time and otherwise informs me "prepaid reservations cannot be modified on mobile". No point in being preferred plus if I have to wait over an hour at the counter every time because the app is broken.

I want to start this with I absolutely love Avis. The company is great. Renting a car from them is always a great experience. But this app is the most infuriating piece of software I've ever used. It will not keep me signed in no matter how many times I check the box, keep me signed in. Less than 24 hours after signing in it will log me out. If I check the box enable biometrics, it won't remember that I chose that option. Neither will the app remember at least my username. I could go on.

Fix the app issues with reservations, it is super buggy. The app won't allow you to complete your reservation after the knowledgment agreement at the end of the process. The app prompts you to call into avis to complete. Then only to find out there isnt anything wrong with your account or the avis lot you are trying to rent from, It's the app.

I think the app makes it pretty easy to make and modify my reservation and choose my car. If express pass is working at the rental facility, that also makes the car rental experience very smooth. One comment is that the app sometimes signs me out and does not remember my password or fingerprint, but that might be because I have it on multiple devices.

Old user interface. Does not accurately display other car options when you pick up your car. No chat options for customer service. Modifying your rental is a pain. Cannot select car at certain airports. No feature to avoid certain cars (like EV). The front desk is always better but lines are long.

This app makes renting vehicles SO EASY! You just set up your account, link your credit card, and bam you can instantly make and manage reservations for rentals right from your phone. I got to skip the line, all i had to do was give them my name and reservation info at the counter, and we were driving away in our rental 5 minutes later. We got the exact 8 person, large luxury SUV that we had reserved too- it was the easiest time ive ever had renting a car ill never go anywhere else again!

We had to return to Florida by car a day before. I then proceeded to go on the Avis app and change reservation accordingly for a drop-off at a different location. In doing so I was informed we would incur the customary drop-off charge of $107.00. At no time in the process of modifying the rental on the app were we informed that the contract would be changed from Unlimited Mileage to .45/mile! + the drop-off fee disappeared. Major bug and still dealing with getting this resolved

The app should NOT need my location to function! The fact that it will not allow the user (me) to disable location and still view your billing info, reservation info, etc is frustrating to NO END! I've never used this app for directions and never will! Avis, YOU DO NOT NEED MY LOCATION INFO unless you're trying to market to me by providing your avis rental locations. I tried to do an app update and there's not one available. Since the new update, it requires my location in order to use it!

Good rental process, app is ok for the most part except for sharing receipts. I get a prompt saying I need storage permissions. I open the settings but there is no storage related permissions to grant. And no, it's not called Media, or Photos, or anything related. I tried assigning all available permissions and this did not fix the issue. I tried 3 times to contact their specified email address for Support and it bounced back all 3 times.

I have a reservation on the web, but logging into the app, it is difficult to see my scheduled rental had to search. Also, once rented, the app wants me to confirm after several days using the car. Why? Sends me a canned scheduled reminder alert and wakes me up at 430 for a 930 scheduled return. My advice is to use the desk and a real person, not this app.

The app works well, but the policies behind renting cars and pre-paying in order to save you money means that if you have to cancel the reservation, they will charge you $50 upon cancellation. My first and last experience using Avis for personal rentals. I saved $300 by going with someone else but had to eat $50 to get out of the reservation.

When the app works, it's great - able to make and track reservations, select vehicles, see my Wizard rewards, in short anything a modern app should be. However, I haven't been able to log into the app for quite a while. I know the password is right, because I'm logged into the website in Chrome, but the app won't accept the username and password.
