i have used axcrypt on the desktop and it has been ok. this app cannot be used without a subscription. what is worse is that this app isn't capable of even encrypting. they want a premium for an app that does less than the desktop. there or plenty of alternatives. uninstalling

AxCrypt performs well, as advertised (Read The Fine Manual). The team plans to add encryption and landscape rotation to this moble app in the future. Meanwhile, this and the extra features in the desktop version are worth the small yearly expense for kryptonite encryption.

Update: 14-JAN-2023 * Still waiting and disappointed that I cannot access (i.e. OneDrive) or decrypt MSFT Office docs. ------------------------------- I keep waiting and waiting for the promised mobile update so that I can finally decrypt and open Microsoft Office documents (Excel, Word) on my phone. When will my wait be over? Aside from this, it's a relatively straightforward, easy, and secure app on desktop. The lack of better/improved mobile support is quite a big negative, unfortunately.

Used it for a few years but had some issues and went with another solution. Developer was very honest and refunded my renewal fee (which I had to pay to get my info out of lockdown). Very honest transaction and rare nowadays . Good job guys!

Yet another disappointing bait and switch. This app has NO FREE VERSION. It's a free trial and subscription, for which you must sign up before you can even test the product. Sure, they let you unlock "existing encrypted files" without signing up... But well, you don't HAVE those if you cannot encrypt them in the first place. Thus, they lure you into the subscription. No, no sale. I won't participate in this kind of stunt. Let me test it then buy it. Enough of this.

Worked well previously but now does not open encrypted Office files (ex. Excel). Support informed me that it was due to a new version of Android. He suggested using other apps to open them, but they don't work either. I stopped receiving responses.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Not only is the Software average at best. The encryption will likely only cause someone to hesitate to open the file for a minute. Also they are misleading with the premium service trial. They charged me a day early, and the cancelation button on their website didn't work. They then refused to refund my money based solely on this. I was finally able to cancel 2 days later and still would not refund any of my money.

It works I guess but its fairly buggy. Files names are invisible, looks a bit outdated, no easy integration to Dropbox or any other cloud service. You can tell its more of a desktop app, shame because don't see a major point up of paying for a mobile app that's this buggy

First axcrpt DESKTOP is an amazing encryption app plain and simple. Their launch into the mobile market is very buggy. I have a chromebook and this app shows up in my playstore but it wont connect to internet to sign in. can you guys add support for chromebook it just means more money for you.

buggy -- won't allow MSWord editing in Android environment. If you create a MSWord file on a PC and park the encrypted file in Dropbox, then try to open that file in an Android environment with AxCrypt/Android, the app WILL find the file in Dropbox, decrypt it, and produce a local Android-device copy ... BUT then tries (and fails) to open Word, and jumps back to the decrypted file list. It's as if the Android AxCrypt app is unable to direct "Android MSWord" to the local decrypted file-copy.

I have been using Axcrypt for a few years now. I highly recoomend this app to those looking to secure important information by encryption. It does, however, take a bit of familiarization of the steps required to do so. Once learned, a great tool for securely encrypting and storing!

Seemed to offer the option of free or upgraded features for a fee. Turns out, that a fee is the only option after a trial period. Uninstalling.

I'm already subscribed, but when I log in it tells me I don't have a valid subscription plan. Also, the first and only time I got in, I entered my password for the first file and it opened fine. But when I opened a file that I know had a different password on it, it didn't ask me for that password but opened it anyway. Seems like a major security flaw!

AxCrypt doesn't deal honestly! I signed up a group of users at my company for the one month "free trial" and cancelled, but they refused to honour the cancellation and charged me over $1600 for a one year subscription we will never use. AxCrypt is shoddy and poorly documented. Folder encryption and sharing features don't work reliably and it's riddled with errors that stop the process when encrypting batches of files. It leaves half-finished temp files everywhere. Do not use for business!

I'll be honest. No way to know what this program does or how it works. I wanted to password protect the SD card on my Android 12. This app does nothing s far as I can see from the UI. Dec 2023 UPDATE (following AxCrypt reply). Unfortunately, that's EVEN WORSE. What I was originally LOOKING FOR was a way to encrypt the files DIRECTLY on the SD card. Suggestion: Include feature-mentions, instructions, etc., someone might be able to use it. Try SSE, that guy KNOWS how to make an encryption program.

Keeps crashing. Totally unusable. I have a premium subscription and app used to work, but not anymore. In addition, when it used to work its UI is very outdated and files have to be added one by one to be decrypted. There is no thumbnail preview of files, and interface is so slow. If you really care about the business you should update the app, but first make it work.

Desktop free version is great, and since I store all my encrypted files in OneDrive, I thought it would be handy to have this app in case I ever needed to open them when I am away from my PC. The website describes how you can only open and read encrypted files (but not create them) but it's does NOT tell you that you have to have a subscription for it to work at all. So this app was installed on my phone for just long enough to open it, learn about the subscription trick, and then uninstall it.

This app works great, is high quality, secure and easy to use. I highly recommend trying it first to see if you like it but the high level of security for your sensitive files and ease of use should convince you it is great. I would not keep any sensitive files in electronic storage anywhere without it. I can access files from my android phone with ease and it works seamlessly with all three of my laptops used for my own small business.

AxCrypt is an incredibly awesome software. It truly is! I even paid for membership even though it doesn't really give me any perks compared to the free one. HOWEVER... As a mobile app it is completely useless! You have to encrypt them ONE-BY-ONE. Want to encrypt 500 files or images? Well I hope you have the day free AND 100% of the files I try to encrypt give me an error message. So if you want a pretty icon to show up among your other apps then download this program, otherwise it has ZERO USE!

Edit: Updated to 4 stars. I contacted support and the response was almost immediate. They forwarded me a link and I was able to confirm my email address. The app does indeed look to work on my Galaxy S9+. I love the desktop version. The mobile app does not work at all. Instead of one star, it gets two, since I did get the warning that the mobile app was designed for an older version of Android. I could stall the app but the verification email never arrived. I wish I could utilize this software.
