Lack of help and communication from the help desk. Was told I wouldn't be charged for a trip that was an accidental one but I was. Also trying to get the day pass as a first time user was almost impossible and was charged a ridiculous amount because of the lack of instruction on how to get the pass. Super disappointed.

App always freeze after switching between others. There was always an issue with the vehicles I used and need to pay for the time when trying to solve it. Charges are more expensive than taking Uber.

Big scam, constantly overcharging because of parking even though I park at their designated parking locations and take a picture of the scooter right next to the Beam parking sign. No response from support. Or go button stopped working then of course, extra charge for instead of refund its a lot cheaper to order a Grab taxi!!

Beam is what i call a polarising product. When its working, it barely have any issues. Usually, the scooters themselves would have issues, but most of the time, it doesn't ruin the ride/service. But the app always have technical issue that are downright frustrating. Why does the monthly subscription tab/button dissappears randomly? This is especially the most prevalent when you want to renew the subscription. You just cant find the button anywhere.

Used to be a great app, but now it's the last mode of transport I would use ever since they implemented the "slow zone" and "no park zone". There are too many slow zones that only allow you to go a maximum of 5km/h. That's the same speed as walking. I almost got into road accidents trying to pass from one road to another because I had to walk slowly (can't even run) while dragging the scooter with me. Secondly, you can only park in designated areas but the problem is that there aren't many.

Pathetic app, I can use it maybe once every 2 days, every other time I try to start one up it gets stuck on the "preparing ride" screen. Very irritating. Then the second issue is customer service, which is basically NON EXISTANT. For these companies to are so much money and mess up city aesthetics, just get some staff to answer questions when things aren't working ffs.

Extremely limited allowed range, (basically the whole city is NO GO zone except a small area), and big No Parking area makes the scooter basically unavailable as an option. Also the app doesn't allow customer feedback or enquiries. Chat is restricted to preset comments.

They charge me double twice and once charged me for spoiled beam that i start and can't end because of their apps response. Be aware of adding your card . Message the and noreply . It's worse than sc@m. Over charged 5 times due to apps glitches the trip wasn't able to end on time due to apps performance with highl speed internet.

I've had the worst experience ever using escooters. I've started group rides, but 1 out of 3 full battery-charged escoters actually worked. Please let me know when you fire those low-skill developers and find new ones so that the issue can be fixed and people can continue using your bugs-free product. Best regards, Alex.

the scooter was better maintained than neuron and the phone mount is a nice touch but the scooter would stop if the app wasn't on top (in focus) on the phone which meant I had to keep stopping to check google maps and this caused me delays and to get lost, costing me more money. There are less parking areas and more speed restrictions than neuron so I'll be using that from now on.

BAD, there was glitch from App to the bike where helmet won't unlock, tried reaching support, no help but was charged $5 when the bike didn't move or helmet unlocked. Tried again, used the bike for hardly 5 mins and bike stopped displayed out of credit, but was charged again $13.26 this doesn't make sense, bike stopped with no credit then you get charged again. Cannot give negative stars unfortunately.

The zones are far too restricted to be useful, you have to park at least 500m away from any major location which makes it completely impractical. Going up any hill at all will make the scooter cut out entirely and the max speed is way too slow, often being quicker to just walk. Terrible service

In summer and spring, amazing and 10/10 app and subscription options. Winter.. get wrecked. They change the per day subscription to per week. They basically become a toy for joy rides. Was using it to get to work, the shops and around, but now saving up for my own.

Terrible app, with features removed at random with zero communication to users. Universal Pass is advertised on website but has gone from my app entirely. Contacting customer support gets nothing beyond copy-paste sentences taken straight from an FAQ page and irrelevant to questions asked. I've been a regular user for months - the scooters work well *most* of the time, and they were handy for my work commute until the Universal Pass disappeared.

Beam app unlocked a scooter I was using twice and after I ended my trip and took a photo of the scooter, the trip was still going for an hour without me know about it costing me $40. I had to end trip twice. What a scam! Luckily I checked the app while I was in bed and saw that the trip had not ended after I ended it an hour ago. If I didn't check the app the trip would of lasted the whole night without me knowing it. I don't feel safe using this app. Will uninstall and delete my account.

The group ride doesn't work. I was able to get it to work once and ended up messing around cancelling rides to get it to work. They are quick to bill you so you have multiple charges sitting on your account for awhile until it finally refunds. Another time it wouldn't work at all so I gave up and walked. Scooters didn't move and they are looking into it. Charges are still on my card.

This service used to be good. Now simply riding past the end of queen street mall (not in the mall, down the street) causes the scooter to lose all power, having to walk 30m for it to allow you to continue, and then parking on the corner near the train station where there are usually 20 scooters, and having to contact support because it's a "no parking zone". It took 8 minutes, and i got charged for that whole time because some tracking system was wrong. Disappointing. Prices up, quality down.

I used this consistently to get to/from uni when I was running late. Trips were fine at best, but now they are charging ridiculous costs for "mis-parking" in an area I have ended every single outgoing trip so far. There are also completely random slow zones which cause obstructions for other scooters and cyclists, and, ironically, when they charged me 4x the nominal cost I was overtaken by a Neuron. Support is also extremely slow to respond. My recommendation? Use other services.

Terrible!! I could not get a scooter to work. I tried two. The first one would not go, and the second one kept screaming loud noises at me. I was charged $10!! No refund. I was only using it for 13 minutes trying to get it to work and I didn't move more than 3 metres. Shocking service. Both were fully charged too, I checked. I will never be using again.

Wow, this is really so cool. Back home we didn't have things like this because NY can't have nice things (unless they are heavily taxed but also people abuse things that are supposed to be beneficial to the community). The only thing I can't seem to wrap my mind around is why the beam app itself doesn't offer an in-house navigation solution. It does have a map, but it'd be awesome to pick a destination and go to it. Google doesn't always consider restricted areas as well as you'd hope.
