Great place to stay and the rooms are always clean. The staff has been always a pleasure to deal with. With that said I would give them a much higher rating. However, this rating is for the app, which is absolutely garbage. I cannot check my upcoming reservations, cannot check in or out, and have been nervous to try the digital key. I wish they would fix the app so we travelers can use it as intended.

Terrible app. Best Western should fire everyone responsible for it and hire a new developer. 95% of the time that I search for an hotel stay the results are greyed out. As in non functional. Awesome to see the results and not be able to do anything with them. I've reserved other hotels strictly out of frustration with such a terrible app experience.

When do you need hotels? When traveling, right? So, generally, you need to find hotels near your location. This hap has no search function that includes a map which makes it almost entirely useless. Uninstalling now. Update: Thought I'd give it another shot. Still useless. No idea where the hotels are without switching back and forth to Google.

Best Western hotels are one of the best deals out there I travel a lot and I find them to be consistently clean. their rewards program is pretty good and their staff on the telephones are great. that said their app is a flipping nightmare. I logged in I go to the screen I go to the next screen to check on hotel price and it says please login constantly. and everyone goes straight changes take some minute or so it doesn't matter how good my signal is or the quality of phone I'm on.

App updated on 7/17/20: crashes every time I try to access rewards dashboard; there is no software testing done before a release it seems. Rev from 2018: Latest update is major fail. Keeps logging me out. This morning, can't log in at all. Just hangs. Have used the app for 2 years and only about half the time does it work well. When it does, it's great and convenient. When it doesn't work well, it's a PITA.

Absolute trash, not any better than the mobile site. The people who are in charge of designing the app should have use the app to book when they travel so they can see. I was on a trip that involved booking hotels nightly at the last minute. The mobile site is a mess, so finally I gave in and downloaded the app. It basically feels like the mobile site in a wrapper. It's slow, has login and session issues, has a bunch of errant dialogs/banners that pop up sometimes. Scrap it and try again

App won't save your login credentials and log you in automatically. For the longest time, I would have to reset my password in order to log in. They finally fixed that. Now, if they could fix the other irritating quirk, when entering a location, the app seems to pick the location furthest from your current location. The app has my location, why can't it order the list by closest town first instead of picking a town 5 states away.

I find it amazing after all the awful reviews for months on end including 3 or 4 from me, this app is still garbage and does not work right. Does not save log in info, spins on end and becomes unrepsonsive...just junk. You would think someone high up at BW would care enough to have it fixed as business travelers like me stay less and less. Diamond member. Way to go BW!

I want to book and stay with BW but app doesn't want me to. What idiot thought it was smart to change map view so map shows only one hotel at a time. Still can't and won't save my credit card information on website or on app. App still unstable and crashes often. I want to use it but it won't let me. They are loosing business bad because of poor web/app design and integration. App gets worse with each update like Marriott app.

Very inconsistent user experience. There appears to be a fingerprint login option, but it doesn't work. I have no problem with other apps. While I'm using the app it will tell me I haven't used it in a while and asks me to log in. When I clear that screen sometimes it logs in automatically and sometimes not. For each search it throws a pink banner up at the top asking for my email address to get the best rate. It's now asking me to complete a puzzle for each action. Getting worse!

Several problems with BW mobile app. It frequently logs me out and sometimes locks me out. Then I have to call Cust Serv to get back in. I only find this out when I'm in a time crunch making a reservation and it's very annoying. Can ruin the timing of travel. The Settings menu is not functional at all. The Touch ID is not functional at all. Customer service was contacted and was very nice but admitted to being unable to assist. I WAS able to make a reservation and also to cancel one so it's not completely useless but it set my trip back by an hour sitting along the road to work it out.

This is one of the most frustrating apps I use. As a traveler, we prefer to stay with Best Western, but the app is ultra buggy and doesn't work 1/2 the time. I am Diamond status with the hotel, and the app says I'm Blue (first level). It does show the correct points. I wish this app worked better. Most times it's easier to just call the property and book than use the app.

I can't look at my upcoming reservation. When I tap it, I get a loading screen that just keeps spinning indefinitely. I can't back out of it, either. I have to clear the app from memory to restore functionality. And why is setup for mobile key under the Rewards menu and not in Settings? This reminds me of the cobbled-together apps we used to get over a decade ago. Pretty sad from a prolific company like Best Western.

I am a Diamond Select rewards member. I've had the Best Western app for many years. It used to be so easy and fast. They "fixed" it, now it freezes and logs me out and then freezes again. Uninstall, restart phone, reinstall, log in. Same thing. For a huge chain, with nice properties around the world, you'd think they'd have the desire to fix this app. But no. I am SO disappointed. I use BW literally around the world, my life would be complete if the app worked more than twice in a row.

Typically a reasonable app. However, latest rev crashes (on a Google phone) when trying to log in. Update: Two weeks later and still crashes when attempting to log in on my Pixel 4a phone. This is pretty poor performance. I'm surprised BW Hotels doesn't have the wherewithall to roll-out an updated app, or at least a patch. Hey BW, Pro Tip for you: Yes, I'm a premium member. But you might do well to recognize that I'll leave you before I leave my phone. Update: Next day... Fixed! Thank you!

Diamond Member here, unfortunately the app needs a lot of work. It crashes a lot, the distances between cities are incorrect, and whenever I try to search for a room somewhere more often than not I get this ridiculous session timeout message and I have to start the search process all over again. It is very inconvenient. BW is a great hotel chain. I wish that there were more properties out there, but man this app is the pits. Probably the worst hotel app out there. I hope they can upgrade it.

It works, but could learn a lot from other hotel apps. I have to login every time I use it (no option for a PIN). It's the only hotel app of the 5 I have accounts with that has that annoying issue. I don't stay at BW preferentially because of this. I travel for work around 25 - 30 nights for every 1 night non-work, it's all about maximizing convenience for who gets my business.

Cant pull hotel bills for any of my stays. The Eden, a Best Western Premier property, very rarely emails me my bill after check out. Hilton and Marriott do it 100% of the time. BW is 25% tops. Since I can't view the bills on the app, I need to call, or email them to get my bill sent. It's really annoying. I wish the app would get fixed so I can pull the bills. It just freezes the app each time I click on the stay.

Update: still the worst app ever. Login issues. Latest update didn't fix anything. Also, stop chasing changing the component name!!! It's so annoying. Can only search for one location after that you have to reinstall the app as it will always default back to this location. You can only open the app once before you have to force close it, to use it again as there is a gray layer over the whole app. Still tries to track your activity. Still lacks a map, after months of complaining about it.

Updated 4/10/2024 app still fails to work on S22 Ultra. Unfortunately, Best Western's app development team is not good enough for prime time. The app fails to work on xfinity wifi at 1,000 mbs. Instead, it says slow connection. The app also continues to crash and makes it very difficult to use this very clunky app. So I will say back to the drawing board Best Western.
