Block Adult Content⛔
If this is enabled, you will not be able to access adult content/websites on your browser, and this feature also works on social media apps that contain these types of words.
Uninstall Protection🚫
While using this feature you can prevent yourself from uninstalling this app unless your accountability partner allows you, and this makes the BlockerHero different from other apps.
This requires device administrator permission (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN).
Accountability Partner
You can add an accountability partner so that whenever you want to turn off/reset any blocker option, you have to ask your partner friend.
Block Websites/keywords & Apps
If you want to block a particular website, keyword, or app that is distracting you from your goals or study then you can easily block it from your blocklist page.
YouTube Safe Search
By default, BlockerHero also blocks adult content on YouTube. If you try to search for any bad content on YouTube, this app will block you from accessing the content immediately.
Focus Mode🕑
This feature is very important if you want more focus and productivity in life.
How it works: In focus mode, you schedule the focus time (e.g. 4:30 PM - 5:45 PM) and during the active focus time only Call/SMS and your custom selected apps are allowed, other apps will be blocked.
Important permissions required by the app:
1. Accessibility Service(BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE): This permission is used to block adult websites and apps on your phone.
2. System alert window(SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): This permission is used to display a blocked window overlay over the blocked adult content.
3. Device admin app(BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN): This permission is used to prevent you from uninstalling the BlockerHero app.

I've only used this app for a short time but I have to say that it does the trick and it's hard to find any work around if you were to try to disable it. Very useful features and I recommend it especially given the low monthly fee cost for the premium subscription

This app works great to block what you don't want to see. It is easy to set up an accountability partner so that you can't change your settings or uninstall if you should feel tempted to do so. If you don't have an accountability partner set up, it is just time consuming enough to turn off to make you think twice, but not too hard if you need something adjusted. I love all the different options for what to block depending on the individual needs. Highly recommend!

This app seemed close to being great. I was able to disable the image/video search blocker feature, but it seemed to be a different matter with adding words to the "whitelist." There were more issues than expected with coming across "keywords" that were blacklisted, but the actual word/phrase was not the same as what the app claimed it was. I wasn't able to add a single word to the "whitelist" as the paragraph claimed to never match up. Ever. I had to uninstall it out of sheer frustration.

It's decent but has flaws. Mainly the word disable thing. I type in the sentence exactly the way it is on the screen and it always tells me it's wrong. I'd love to be able to turn off the block YouTube shorts function as well as unsupported app function but I can't. I wish I could also change the type of deactivation test but couldn't figure out how and now I'm stuck for the next 90 days or so

Great in theory, not in practice. Pushes popups to sell you a subscription. If it thinks you want to remove it, it spams you with popups to stop that. It has you set an "accountability partner" to allow changing settings, good idea. You can even make it yourself if you want privacy. If you do, any time you try to change something, you're given 5 minutes to type a wall of text that a computer could do, but no human could. Can't undo that once set, beyond aggravating. Also blocked safe sites a lot

It's pretty decent but premium support is just OK. Accountability partners sometimes don't get emails when access to something is requested - and support says they can approve via the app (but they can't since they have an iPhone..). All in all, I don't believe English is the developer's first language and seems to be a thrown-together app that somehow works pretty well. Premium is cheap, it works well enough, and I support what they're doing so I'll stay on it. I just wish they had desktop

it's a good app... if it let you fix mistakes you've made. when I put one on 'disable newly installed apps' I figured I'd get back control within a week. Nope. I now cannot install new apps and use them, restart/power down my phone, and change any existing setting because the red text is always wrong. I love some off the stuff, just wish they were smart about implementation. I also cannot delete this app to change any settings or log out and am in need of a support code... stupid app.

Kinda of a pain to use. Changing settings requires typing in a long string of text without mistakes. Anytime I put in an email for an accountability buddy it told me the email was invalid. If it were just these things I'd still give it 4 stars, but upon testing whether it even worked or not I was still able to search for and access adult websites fairly easily. It doesn't do the one thing I downloaded it to do, so kinda disappointing

I just downloaded the app and it keeps saying that my wife's email address is invalid in the accountability section. We wanted to test out how the "ask permission" part of the app worked incase we wanted to make changes to the settings in the future. And it just keeps saying it's invalid. We double checked and her email address was put in correctly. It does seem to be blocking us from searching adult content on the phone, so that is good.

This is probably the most important blockers of the many (and yes i would recommend you try the powers of multiplest once) the only thing I would add is for the free version users to be able to change how long the block screen is up for. 3 secs isn't really enough for you to take a step back and think about what you are doing, more of a mild annoyance for anything. Other than that this works great, it not only reads urls but also text onscreen which many blockers are lacking.

This app has been revolutionary in my recovery as a former porn addict who has just had trouble overcoming that last hurdle to finally get rid of it once and for all. I've been in that phase for about a decade now. I purchased the full lifetime version and IT IS SO WORTH IT!!! YOUR RECOVERY IS WORTH IT!!! My one and only suggestion, developers: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS AVAILABLE ON APPLE DEVICES (iPhones AND iPads). Keywords on the screen, not just website blockers.

update: I had to delete because it was blocking my VPN. Private Internet access is not a browser, but could not enter the random text in time on my phone. PLEASE update the app to allow PIA I want this to work again. Testing many of these for when my children get smart devices. This is a great one for broad blocking, like image searches, and pinpoint like keywords.

THANK YOU. I wish people could see the hard word that goes into making an app like this work. I use the app with another app. If one function doesn't work like internet blocking, use a different browser like SPIN Brower that doesn't allow specific content. It's a pain to change settings, but that's the point! If the app a hassle for you, it's not meant for you. A lot of people need extra friction. Thanks, especially for therecent screen blocker. You are changing lives while others just complain.

This app is damn near perfect. It has the security, blocking YouTube shorts, can modify blacklisted and whitelisted keywords at will. My one gripe is the setting modifier challenge where you have to fill a text prompt. It's brutally unforgiving. If the timer were increased, the text you are supposed to follow changes color when typed correctly, or even if just the 'confirm' button was big and green instead of the 'Cancel'. I'm just trying to turn of the 'unsupported' browser settings, that's all

This is the only effective blocker I've found. The only issue is that the text Counter measure to prevent you from changing settings is quite literally impossible. I've matched text correctly numerous times, but it never works, it always says "text not matched". If I ever need to change a setting for any reason, my only option has been to completely uninstall the app, cancel my subscription, reinstall and subscribe and input my new desired settings.

This app is actually very good. It blocks adult content effectively and also blocks video and images which helps with focusing. The only thing is they do not block videos and images, they block you from clicking on anything with video or image in it. So you can click on an image but you can't go to Google images. You can go on YouTube and watch videos but you can't click on "Videos" on Google.

Pretty good but I have to add, some YouTube searches get messed up and blocked because of some built in keywords and when I try to whitelist those words using the myself option I have to type an entire wall of text that has a lot of hard to notice capital letters, so as soon as I'm done I have to recheck because text is not matched and then I can't whitelist that word anymore.

Works very well. Gave 3 stars because app, without warning, becomes disabled. Need to manually enable the application again to make it work normally Since updating Android OS the app becomes disabled almost every day. The part that becomes disabled is "Accessibility is off" which basically disables the filter even though the App seems to be enabled. Down from 4 stars.

I have to give 2 stars. There are a few things I don't like about the app. 1st, when using Google Chrome, I tap "Images" after typing something in the search bar, I can see the images for a split second, and then it'll return to "All". 2nd, once in a while I can't enter a website. 3rd, there's a big loophole in the app that needs attention, but I'm not going to explain it here. Fourth, there are some detected bad key words that I haven't put in myself, like "wife cheat", which is ridiculous. 😑

Works excellently, but that is sometimes a problem when using YouTube. It catches certain key words and blocks the screen, which is good during moments of weakness for me, but it becomes a nuisance when videos and usernames use those certain key words. I also feel like this app is currently having a negative effect on me using Google: whenever I search for something on Google, the page will continuously reload until it crashes.
