I've used this app for years. Recently, though, only on my phone it has become a nuisance. It turns itself on/off constantly. Yes, definitely, a first world problem😂, but I have really fun health issues they all tend to cause migraines and make me sensitive to light. There's been enough time to fix the issue before moving on. I also didn't want to abandon ship because I paid for it years ago. But it's time I can't take it anymore! Why can't you guys help!

They claim no permissions, but there are TONS right off the bat. There is a service agreement you must consent to before activated the blue light. You must have all your permissions turned on as well. Such invasion of privacy for just a simple app of dimming your phone. Sounds fishy.

I don't like that it doesn't do the lockscreen, notification bar, and volume bar on this phone. (& I have show on navigation bar toggled on.) It did in my last phone, which was also a tracfone. I like that it has a schedule mode with multiple times for different amounts of filter. Also like how it uses 0% of my battery.

I've never tried other screen-dimming apps, so I don't know if there's an earth-staggeringly amazing one out there somewhere, but this one does exactly what it said it was going to, is very fine-tune-able, and if it has ads, I haven't noticed them. It just works, plain and simple.

I'd give it 5 stars cuz I've been using this app a lot and I love it, but there is now a problem. My phone just received an update which focused on a lot with the display, and since the update this app no longer dims the notification bar when I pull it down. This is quite bothersome, especially since I have a higher light sensitivity. I hope to see this fixed soon. Thank you

I unistalled this app about a year or two ago, and shortly after recently reinstalling it I remembered why: When the filter's opacity is active, you cannot highlight text on reader apps such as Wattpad. This may also apply to apps that allow copy-and-paste, but I haven't checked that...yet. Another weird bug/glitch: When you set something to 0:00 on the schedule, it deletes the marker before it and copies itself using the top marker's opacity. :I

I've used BLF for over 3yrs now. I appreciate the manual aspect of the app. Simple interface. Simple bar on my notifications tab. Easy to use. It's been a MUST on all my devices. Only complaint I have is screenshots should still automatically exclude filtration, it used to. But I'll live, well worth the hassle I've gained so many more hours of sleep. Personally I love it! Best blue light app, I always recommend it to everyone!

It gets the job done, but I have one issue with it--I have a Google Pixel 2 XL and when I scroll down from the top to get my notifications, it is not affected by the blue light filter. This is a problem because if I check my notifications, it's very bright. I would give 5 stars if the blue light filter also affected the drop-down menu.

I have had Bluelight Filter installed on my phone for quite a long time. However, newer updates have added many adds within the app which did not appear before. I have also had a reoccuring issue where only half of my phone screen is filtered leaving the other half its regular appearance. This has happened more frequently as of late making this app lose its value for me. Many newer phones have bluelight filters built in the systems settings now. I would recommend those over this app.

I, too, purchased the license key for the upgraded version and it is not being honored after an update. The version I have does not allow me to switch to dark mode. I can select it from the drop down menu, but nothing happens and the interface remains white. The white is really jarring in the dark (my eyes are super sensitive to light) and it's the main reason I paid for the license key.

I really like this app, I've dowloaded it on my last couple of phones. However, the last couple of updates have made it so that when I pull down my notification bar at the top, it is not filtered like it use to be. So I get blinded at night by my notification tab screen when I have this app enabled. Thee whole point of this is to avoid the harsh light for a reason.

Great app but it is always on my notifications, I have it set to never appear on my notifications but it's still there and I shouldn't need another app to screenshot without the filter in the photo so I can't because I haven't downloaded it. Other than that amazing app, it helps with getting rid of eyestrain and I think the customization is great, I can have the color set to black so that I can my screen brightness even lower when it's dark inside. It is so helpful. Thank you!

Really enjoyed the app especially it's timed feature. However I keep experiencing a problem where the app turns off. I have it set to turn blue light on at night. But I've noticed time and time again that the blue light never turns on and the app has been turned off. I end up having to go back into my phone settings to allow the app to work. I don't know if it's because of my device or something with the app. But I don't experience this with other apps.

I had used this app for years but recently started having full page ads interupt my phone use, inserting themself over all other apps, and displaying when phone was initially unlocked. Spent a lot of time trying to track down the culprit amd finally figured out it was this app. Problem is gone now that I have uninstalled it. I didn't suspect it as it had been installed for years.

generally love the app! Update 7/29: The app makes it so that i am unable to utilize some functions on my phone. On the chrome app, i am unable to click on pop ups (such as location access or allow popups from this site), and i am unable to use some apps entirely. these problems go away when i turn off the filter, but it would be ideal to be able to use both simultaneously.

I've loved using blue light filter, and have it on all of my devices. But now it keeps trying to charge me for a subscription which I didn't sign up for. Luckily, I didn't have my card attached to Google anymore. I don't know if it automatically started after a year, or if I accidentally hit the subscribe button. Either way, be careful about what you click in the apps these days. This sort of thing has been happening more lately (never before)...why my card isn't attached to Google anymore.

Blue light interferes with your body's natural melatonin production. Computers and phones are the most common reason for most people's insomnia. This app won't fix the problem, but it does help a lot. It's nice to be able to check a notification without being blasted by intense light. It can also save battery by allowing lower than normal screen brightness. Any possible energy savings depends on type of screen though.

I have eye tissue damage from childhood and I am giving this app three stars because it effectively dims the screen sufficiently and offers a range of shades to tint which I appreciate though I never use more than two. But it is difficult and confusing to set up the schedule option (one of the reasons is because it's in military time) and also the screenshot without the filter button has never worked for me. Being able to take easily readable screenshots for other people is important for me.

This latest update takes away the best part of the app: the simple, fixed notification bar shortcut to turn the filter on or off. The notification bar shortcut is now obnoxiously large, the button to actually turn the filter on and off is tiny, and I really, really don't need a giant capture screenshot button. The shortcut now moves around as well so it's harder to just tap the filter on and off. After 4 years of daily use across two phones, I'm uninstalling.

Works well for me on my HTC one m8. I have a hard time keeping a regular sleep schedule. Using this app in the evening and at night (I use flux on my laptop, highly recommend flux!) Helps me sleep more at night. I read about how the "blue light" in backlit things and electronics mimic natural bright daylight in the brain somehow. I find it helpful, wish it were a little easier like flux, with its syncing up with your time and adjusting the blue light filter automatically in small increments.
