So so slow to respond. On top of that anytime you print from this app it will just keep printing and printing the same thing over and over again until you cancel it on the physical printer. So not very useful when I need to sit right next to the printer to use this app so I don't waist loads of paper. This bug has been going on for over a year and they have never done anything to fix it.

Basically everything you can want. It does 2-sided printing, color or b&w, photo or plain paper of various sizes etc and with any app that has a share button. The plugin also works well but more direct, just hit print. It works well for my new (but older model) MFC-J775DW. Now, all I need is something to do basic greeting cards... I'd like to see it in the iPrint app 😁

Oh how far technology has come, scanning from my phone at last. If only it would scan on the first try, I often get connection issue when scanning a second document. But it's generally able to scan again after the failed connection notification. This app would be much more convenient if I could have some ability to remove pages and if I could name the file before I save it.

I'm not having an issue connecting to the printer like many of the other commenters, but at some point the app must have updated and removed a significant number of print options. Looks like it's just unable to print a document at it's actual size and instead scales it up to fit the page, and there's no way to change that. Pretty unusable for shipping labels, or pretty much anything really

March 2019: Does not read my printer. It picks up another device instead. Update March 2024: One final attempt after occasionally trying for many years (before 2019). The app now picks up nothing. Honesty is the best policy for any company. Great printer. It should keep up with the times and be wireless capable by now. No other printer actually works for me from a computer. Brother has been stable. But the app function would be great.

this app a few years ago use to allow you to change duplex settings for double sided printing and now it hasn't allowed it for the longest time. I've always had brother printers since 2001 and now am considering changing. Use to be able to print away from the house and it was ready thanks to the cloud print option but something happened as well and it would only print if I had a certain PC powered on. Changed some things, got it to print from the phone but half of the settings are useless now.

The app works great; you can print and scan using your mobile device, which is useful and is actually speedy. HOWEVER, scan settings apparently differ from the app and the Brother windows program. Yes, I read this can happen so for instance on windows, you can choose to scan with error diffusion and scanned pages come out clear. BUT, when you scan with the app, there is no error diffusion option so scanned pages come out with dark spots throughout the page and the letters are blurry. Again, why even have a scanned feature if it's not going to work properly?

For several years, the app was slow and couldn't open massive pdfs, but still worked well and easily for the vast majority of what I needed to print, and even had print options the driver on my computer lacked for the same printer... Within the last month or so, the app has completely stopped working for me. Any pdf I load now, no matter the size or source, gives me an error that says "the file is in an unsupported format."

Its a really convenient and easy app to use. There are two things that needs to be added or improved to make it even better. 1) Using this app with my android phone, i can't print double side papers coz that option would always be greyed out and i wouldn't be able to click on it. 2) You can't rotate the scanned images clockwise or counterclockwise and you have to scan it all over again which makes it annoying to use. Besides these two things the app is great!

Works, but it's slow. I have two brother multifunction units that faxes, prints, scans and copies. Both have wireless interfaces and there are two different houses. I hate printing wirelessly off my phone because it takes literally 5 minutes to transfer the file to the printer. I don't think it's anything to do with the wireless network because I can print wireless through my computer fast. App needs to be improved.

Basic app that did the job it said it did on first use. I print photos for work, and a few things I noticed: *the power to the printer needed to be on before the app seemed to be able to send. Minor inconvenience. *there was a fine print option I haven't seen on the computer...and it looks great! It just prints super dark. * the lack of in app tools to lighten up a picture was sad. At least I could crop. Loved the copy preview feature!

Bare minimum functions as far as i know, but one thing bugs the absolute mess out of me. Actually finding the image you want. Once you open Pictures, its just an unexplainable wreck, there will be pictures from a year ago at the most recent, no way to access certain folders of pictures, and good luck finding the actual picture you want printed. Sadly to my knowledge this is the only way to print things off my phone with this certain printer.

The app works for me. I don't have the connection or performance issues that others have reported. I was pleasantly surprised with the scanning options available: crop, rotate, add pages, save to PDF, etc.. BUT The first time I scanned something I don't remember it even telling me where they were being saved. I had to go browsing through the interal storage until I found a Brother folder inside the Download folder... This needs to be stated in the app. Asking where to save would be nice.

If I get to connect to my all-in-one print, it's my lucky day! This drives me crazy trying to connect to it. When you tinker around the app try NFC, it wont go back to the main landing page, it closes the app if you use the back button on your android device. A lot of bugs in this app. So difficult to connect, and if it does it takes a really long time! Really makes me want to consider another brand of printer/scanner/copier.

So frustrated!!! This app used to work really well. Then a few weeks ago, poof! It stopped connecting to the printer. I have gone through every troubleshooting step. I have restarted phone/printer/router, uninstalled/reinstalled the app, tried manually entering the IP (I have it memorized at this point), etc. And the app WILL NOT connect to my printer, which my router clearly shows as connected to the same Wi-Fi as my phone. I'm at my wit's end.

Going by the other reviews my experience could have been worse. The app works, but one definite complaint I have is that somehow this app causes my MFC-J480dw, an already slow printer, to print WAY slower than the default Android print utility. It takes more than a minute to print a single page, even at "normal" quality levels. But at least the app functions for me.

If I choose documents, I see the jpg file I want to print in the Downloads folder, but it won't let me select it. It's greyed out, but PDFs are not, so it's because of the file type. ...but If I choose Photo, it gives previews of every photo on my phone in some random order with no option to switch or select a directory so I can't find the thumbnail. Painful!. Ended up using the PC. How about making a nice way to select the file and THEN worry about what kind of file it is.

Nice app but takes to long to print documents. I had a 10 page document and it took 30 minutes. I have Xfinity high speed and only 3 devices connected and still so slow. I tried to print a 65 page document forget it. Says file to large however my hp app worked great and took only minutes on my inkjet. I prefer to use my laser for important documents. Like the other comments, I also seem to only use this for a scanner. Please fix this. Its very slow even to print one page.

On the phone, a Galaxy S20 Ultra, the current version of the app won't recognize home Wi-Fi connection with Brother printer, J835DW. Deleted and installed an older version, which worked. Besides the iPrint&Scan app, the Brother plugin is also installed. To further verify the network interface is good, installed a competitor's app, and it connected with the network and printer with no problem. Needs to be fixed.

This works perfectly with my older brother printer. It locates new printers quickly and easily on the network and allows me to print to them. Unfortunately, this app is capable of finding their newer printers but won't work with them. Instead, the Mobile Connect app is required, but that app kind of sucks and can't find the printer even though this app can.
