Update: as of 09/21/2022 the ap still doesn't work. Can't view any of the winning numbers past 09/15/2022. Scanning isn't working either... going from 2 to 1 star. How does the ap get worst? Never works. Always a issue with the system. Rarely scans tickets. Rarely has updated info in a timely matter. Don't waste the space on your phone just go to google.

This app is horrible. It was mediocre 4 years ago, when you had about a 50/50 chance of the app recognizing the ticket.... And It has progressively gotten worse with every update! As it stands now, the last 5 X's I have used the app. It has not been able to scan any ticket! Prior to that I would say it was about a 30 percent chance of working. And this has been on numerous devices(LG STYLO 4, REVVL, GALAXY S10, GALAXY S9, LG V30)Developers: Is this an ANDROID 10 issue.

I have been faithfully entering 2nd chance barcodes for several years now, I've not been a winner yet, but hopefully someday I will. I do notice though, that sometimes, certain phones won't allow scanning of the barcodes. I can't figure out why. If I knew the basic operating requirements; I'd try to have the right phone to scan codes.

As for the 'game period over', the app informs you that there is a new update in progress and for you to download it once it is complete. Personally this app is great. As far as cons go; only one problem it not scan on my samsung A21. Turns out the camera sucks on this type of Samsung phone. There is one minor irritating detail.... Every once in a while, rarely ever it's so quick to scanning and says error invalid barcode. Other than that. Good app, just has it's flaws.

Scanner works fine. It is extremely sensitive though. For example if I'm trying to scan the barcode in very poor lighting it won't focus and likewise if there is a glare from being too bright it won't focus. Trying to scan at an angle or upside-down will stop it from working. Also on my Samsung A21 if my battery is low it automatically will not focus and scan. Overall if the conditions are right I have zero problems with the scanner while submitting my 2nd chance scratchers. 5 Stars all the way!

After the last update it immediately crashes upon opening the app. Uninstalled and re-installed and the crashes continue. 03/11/20 In addition, I have found the app to be inaccurate when checking tickets. Example, I scanned three Fantasy 5 tickets. Two were not winners and one had a free replay. Scanned all three days later. All three indicated they were non-winners. Again, I saved them and scanned again. Two non-winners and one free replay. Same on a few some scratcher tickets.

Scanner works fine on My Samsung Phone I have scanned hundreds of tickets, they were all losers though, and I verified the winning numbers to my tickets to be sure. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8, and I have no issues at all. It says whether it's a winner, and offers secound chance scanning afterwards to let you know which tickets qualify for it, and that also works great. No issues, excellent app. Thanks

When you get the message "app stopped" and "send feedback" select "send feedback" wait until it takes you to the Google feedback page, and press your go back button (android phone) this should take you back to the app and it will be open and working. Edit:feedback option is gone now, this workaround no longer works. Edit:I have found another work around but I won't tell because I am convinced that the lottery wants to throttle the users. You just need to find out what works for you.

Was an awesome app. Convenient and easy to follow. Until today. The Check-A-Ticket feature went all haywire. Glitches all over the place so it won't scan the ticket barcode. I even tried uninstalling and installing again. Nope, bug is still there. So, you get 2 stars for effort. Took 3 stars away for lack of efficiency. Ahh California, you make me proud...

Great app for saving time by scanning your lotto ticket in and seeing if you're a winner. My only complaint is that when you try to scan in for second chance, it never works the first time you have to exit then rescan. Besides that it's very convenient but remember to always manually check your tickets also, just in case. It tells you that in the app too.

I use to never have any problems with this app until recently. Every time I open the app it says "No internet connection. Make sure your device is connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile network and try again." I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling. Tried clearing all the data then force closing the app but does nothing. I am sending an Email to the developers after I write this to see if they have any insight on this issue. Besides that main problem, the app itself is awesome! Plz fix this!

I have been having a lot of issues with this app lately. It has been freezing plus it keeps saying I have no internet connection (when I do) so I have to keep signing in! I don't get reminders either to update it which it really needs!! Please fix your App!!!!! Update: 1-23-2020 The check a ticket works most of the time but then the app will not let me enter the 2nd chance tix. It keeps saying "an error occured please check back later" I'm starting to think they don't want us to enter!

Have had this app for a few years. No issues until the latest update! Forgot my password. Since being logged in permanently. Everything on my phone is updated. Even uninstalled the app four times. Keep getting errors. Telling me cards I've just purchased are out of date. Scanner is worse then the last. Contacted the California lottery for help. Keep getting automated responses. Still can't log into my account. Very displeased for the amount of tickets I purchase.

I've been using this app FOR YEARS with little to no problems. Then, late Feb 2021, problems began off and on. As of 3/5/21, it doesn't read the ticket bar codes. I get an error message to try later...EVERY TIME. Hopefully you all are working to fix the problem(s). Btw, I believe there was an UPDATE on 3/6/21 as the site had a different look. It's not like we can choose another CA Lottery app. This is it...

Very lightweight, no ads or pop-ups for me & it worked flawlessly. I opened the app for the 1st time to scan & check some tickets & was met with T&C's to agree to, tapped the menu button, selected "Check-A-Ticket," granted camera access & then I was off to the races. Took around 30 seconds, including DL & install. I VERY rarely play lotto but I do get a few scratchers from folks during the holidays so I just install/remove the app as needed. California actually created something useful!

I've pretty much been using this app since it became available. And I've NEVER had any problems with it. BUT, for the past 3 day's, the, "2nd Chance" feature hasn't been working and nothing is being done about it. Every other feature works fine. I only downloaded this app for the 2nd chance feature, because, it's a lot quicker than typing them in online. But, now that it's not working, no need keeping the app.

This app is wonderful, if you want to waste your time. Great concept, but the current version is, at best, nothing more than a glorified flow chart (i.e. a graphical interface without the need code to be useful). It's about as useful as a vending machine without power -- you can see all the options and push the buttons, but nothing will ever happen. **** Edited/Added in response to the reply from CA Lottery on 10/23/18 **** I would really, really like for someone to explain to me exactly how the "extremely high traffic" caused delays and impacted the user experience with the app. I'm assuming the "extremely high traffic" is referring to the data/bandwidth to/from the CALottory website. How does any level of traffic (or none at all) with your website have any impact on my cellphone taking a picture (using the camera to scan the bar code)? The answer is; it absolutely doesn't!!

The lack of ability to scan tickets to tell you if they are winners and the amounts won is the biggest thing lacking from this app. I (and many others) suggested that feature be added when the app was still in development, through the Lottery Insiders focus group, but the idea never made it into the app. I like using it otherwise, but cannot give it a five star rating because of that glaring oversight. Update; Those features have been added and work well!

Pretty good app ... when it's working. Allows you to check your tickets quickly to see if you won one of the main California lottery prizes, or a Second Chance prize, as opposed to manually trying to compare the numbers on tickets to the winning numbers, which takes forever and can lead to mistakes. But the negative is the app often has slowdowns or crashes, which means you can't check your tickets, which defeats the whole purpose of the app. Works best if you are near your modem.

Most of the time when I want to check, "My Submissions" from my CA Loterry app, it will tell me the their is a error in the system. I dont care for it,h but after so many times of having to click on, "My Submissions" second time it becomes annoying and irritable. But beside that, I love that app, and how it keeps me up-to-date with all the new scratcher that come out!
