Tried to use this to monitor all the devices in our home. It locked up all phones, I couldn't even get into my daily work apps. Seems like a great idea, but in the end it doesn't work. Will be going back to Ever Accountable ASAP for our family monitoring.

slows down phones so all texting is delayed. it will be days or hours sometimes before a message pops through. Also can't access Google hardly. Canopy is using a very subpar VPN that is super super slow. I understand why it has 2.4stars now. We will be canceling and finding a more reliable service. I can't stand paying for something that is actually making our lives more difficult. This could also cost us our to jobs as texting is a man source of communication when we are on job sites.

Bad, my phone is bricked for eternity. Having an always on vpn trashes your phone. Avoid this. They say the app doesn't impact your internet connection, battery, or performance, that is wrong. So much wrong with this horrible app. UPDATE: App freaks out whenever I connect or disconnect from a wifi network.

Honestly, lately it's been really annoying to use it. We are using it for my son's phone and he can still control it on his end. What's up with that?

the app works to block things yes. however, it causes the loading of other apps and things you dont need or want to block to be slow. example: quite often it will slow down the opening of financial apps that I use. this is highly annoying (I know Canopy is the cause because when I turn it off the apps work at normals speed). it also for some reason kept wanting to install an app for me when I didnt want it. lastly the downtime settings feature doesn't work well - too slow to initiate changes

Slows my phone down a lot. It does work though and has been helpful. I just wish it was not so cripplingly to my Samsung A54.

Don't use this. It pretty much bricks your phone from doing anything that requires an internet connection.

Do not download if you plan to delete it. It cannot be uninstalled. Worst app ever.

While it can take a lot of trial and error to fix issues, most of my siblings wouldn't be able to use the internet safely without it! Far better than non VPN services we've tried in the past. Did you know that it's Netspark but geared more for Americans? It's great.

This app is sooo glitchy. The internal abilities it used to block 'suspicious activity' are inconsistent, buggy, and behave like malware. The app also blocks content that is not explicit*. I can appreciate the idea and the unique 'Ask for permission' functionality, but this app's methodology is very lacking. *Edit: I apparently forgot to mention that this app's filters block LGBTQ content; not all LGBTQ content is inappropriate. These filters are blatantly homophobic and transphobic.

Great parenting control app, but as a guarded individual, I find it increasingly difficult to download and browse even the simplest web pages, which take an eternity to load. Canopy greatly reduces device network speed.

I personally think that it does a good job at what it's supposed to do. Negative reviews on this app are likely from teens whose parents installed it on their phone to help with a certain addiction. If it gets irritating, look through the settings or ask the person who has the parental app, and you can find a way around it. Canopy is not as invasive as people say. Trust me.

It does block bad sites from being accessed. It does come at the cost of making a smartphone dumb and annoying. It keeps trying to add apps that are not desired to the home screen. The filter blocks many sites that don't make any sense. Lastly it makes it nearly impossible to diagnose issues on that phone without removing the software.

I can't even hardly leave the review without having stuff popping up and clicking me off the screen to a screen that says displays over apps. even when I'm trying to make a call I cant. I want this out of my phone but it won't let me. it's saying can't delete it now without locking my whole device

Great for blocking bad content and for accoubtability, but also blocks a lot of things that aren't bad

it keeps changing my settings around, and it's constantly on, sucking my already terrible battery life, my phone is constantly hot now, is this app mining bitcoin or something? if you're unfortunate enough to be stuck with this app by your parents, you can get around it by turning on maximum battery saving mode, and only enabling certain apps, like youtube, or discord.

It had been good to use this app for some time, till they started providing a svc to unfilter any app you want, including those with sexually explicit content,I when this is a company which provides anti-porn svs.

This app goes on the protected "kid" device, and is controlled by a seperate "parent" control app, typically installed on a seperate device. This was 1 star bc the AI partial nudity filter (you know, the selling point of the service) absolutely wrecked phone performance. However a more recent update has added granularity that hugely improves this feature so it's usable! 3 stars right now bc they don't have an option to add a password lock the control app so kids can easily get around it

The app is a mixed bag of beans for sure; I haven't been able to access my Gmail or other wifi based apps correctly since connecting this device... I think it's a small price to pay-- I'm spending way less time on my phone as a result of the restrictions we've put on. It can be kind of like having an app that turns your phone into a flip phone, while still having limited smart phone functions (maps, books, etc) which is why I still enjoy having it on my devices.
