My wife and I can listen to our own music and still chat (which is great), but if one of us shares music with the other, we can't talk (not so great). I would really like a way to remap some of the buttons on the device. Pause and play being two different buttons is super unituitive. Overall good product, just a little buggy sometimes.

Quite simply awful. FM radio controls, preset or otherwise never work. Bluetooth audio control doesn't control audio. Want to make a mesh network? Yeah, me too. There is not a single function of this app that works on either my or my girlfriend's Packtalk Bold. Both have updated firmware. Both are just as tragic. Three overall stars for this app is simply too high.

Pairs with Bluetooth ok, but the cardo app doesn't recognize that the headset is connected to the phone. So the app is useless. Which means the features I paid for are useless. Also, email validation failed? So I can't register the product. Here's the weird thing for me. I have two identical phones. They both run the same version of Android. The app works on one phone, my wife's, but not on mine. Go figure.

Excellent voice quality, but otherwise buggy software. For instance, music and radio volume cannot be turned up, but voice communication volume is fine. That makes this mode useless. No mention of this in the Cardo FAQ list but it's all over the internet. Radio sometimes fails to tune. It just ignores you. Volume is also way too soft. Voice prompts sometimes there and sometimes not. This is confusing.

I enjoy having the ability to listen to music, books, or other information. the app connects well to the Cardo 4X I'm using, and its wonderful not to just have to listen to air during a ride. The voice commands are a tad awkward, but no different than using Bixby, Google, Alexa or Seri. it's staccato and limited. Of course, Cardo is MUCH more limited than the other VOX programs, and its only limited to about 20 total commands. It's unfortunate that the system can't be a bit more flexible.

Even though my Cardo unit is connect to the phone, the app won't detect it. I have to close and reopen it repeatedly 4 to 6 times before it detects the unit. Other then that, it's ok but it is a pain. Update, after some testing, I discovered that I must start the app first and give it a minute before turning on the Cardo unit. Then the app will connect to the unit as the Cardo unit connects to the phone. Strange, but it works.

Like other reviews I've come across, the device works well, the App absolutely fails. This is a 350+ dollar product, not worth the money with all the issue's I've come across. After downloading the app and updating it to current software, adding my speed dial contacts ect. nothing works. Speed dial buttons won't make calls. Spotify plays random tracks. And will not connect other pack talk devices via Bluetooth, and when connected via DCM my partner can hear me but i can't hear them. Needs fixing

Barely functional for me on Galaxy Note20 Ultra. Connected and working but app can never find the device. When it does, it quickly drops connection. Pretty disappointed. Edit: my firmware is current on both devices and there's no way that I'm doing a factory reset on my phone in hopes that it will fix your sub-par app that many are having the same issues with. FIX IT!

Terrible. First it wouldn't confirm my email as it never sent the email. It didn't go to spam, I literally own the mailserver so I control the spam. After trying a couple of other emails, I finally was able to get the confirmation email on an address I never use. The app won't connect. I updated the firmware, made sure app was up to date, the unit is connected to phone via Bluetooth. Rebooted phone and unit, nothing. Cannot find unit. And now the "support" page redirects to an error page. Awful

App seems to do fine for me, a little adjustment of the mixing sliders to get the volumes good and I'm happy. One thing I would like is that Spotify is native to the app, it would be nice if they would add YouTube music and other players. I can still use other apps to play music, I use YouTube music, and it works well, but there is a setting in the app for a default player. I'm using a Pixel 6.

I can't update the cardo freecom 4x from the USB on my computer. It states "this update is not compatible with your device." Also, the voice control won't stay turned on, just like someone else has mentioned. This is one of the biggest reasons I purchased this unit, for voice control. I contacted customer service via email, which is the only option I can find. It takes a while for them to get back to you. I don't want to have to solve the issue over several days with back and forth emails.

It doesn't allow more feature as a Bluetooth device. The Bluetooth connection is weird, it doesn't seem to be able to connect the device within the app, I always have to connect on the phone settings, restart the app from fresh to make it work. If I try to connect thr device via the app, it will just get stuck at looking for device forever.

App constantly in the "looking for unit" mode, even though the device is already connected via Bluetooth and can be operated through other phone controls. The device connects to Bluetooth just fine, the issue is the app. The app also has no functionality when it's in its searching for device mode, so it's basically useless if it doesn't connect, which it won't.

Total junk. Didn't think it could possibly be harder to keep connected than the cheap Chinese headsets. I was wrong. Edit- it turns out I needed to pair my bike in GPS mode, which is not explained at all. I spoke to tech support and advised them to review and revise their manual. That being said, the app is definitely functional, but doesn't look very modern. The buttons are big though, so that a plus for using on the go. Google could take a lesson in that regard for software design.

This app doesn't work. At all. I can connect my cardo to my phone. Cannot connect to the app. and of course when you hit "help" like all lazy app developers have done, they lead you to the settings in your phone as if you didn't already think about connecting it to the Bluetooth. If this didn't connect to my phone, I'd return it and go with Sena.

Edited review. 1 star to 4. Not 5 because Cardo wasn't smart enough to provide the solution. Everyone with connection issues on Freecom4x. listen up. These devices have two ways you can pair them via Bluetooth to your phone. One is the correct way. The other is wrong. Pair to your phone by pressing the rear button(phone symbol) till you get the red/blue light. Look for it in your bluetooth devices and pair to Freecom4x. DO NOT PAIR it using the TOP bluetooth button. This causes issues!!!!

bought the new cardo pro. OK for a week, then or didn't auto update. I had to open the app, which I don't want to use for music, just to be told an update was needed AFTER the headset keep disconnecting from my phone while telling me it was connected. literally almost threw the device after an hour of riding. if you demand I use your app I'll return this and but an old model.

Everything Cardo is useless. All I wanted to do is change some settings on my Freecom 1+ so I could better hear audiobooks. But not matter what combination of Windows, drivers, web browsers, everything, nothing would let me change the settings on my Freecom 1+. Everything about Cardo, as far as I can tell, just sucks and I will steer clear of them in the future. Also the app requires an account tied to your email. yay, more data collection!/s

Requiring activation with an app that keeps failing to update the device is pretty frustrating. The permissions are also questionable at best. Why does activity tracking and notifications need to be enabled? Why doesn't the app enable BT pairing when adding a new device? Lots of weird choices. App is also failing to update the headset, but requires an up-to-date headset to open and app and fully configure the device. That's a main marketing point from Cardo.

I've had this for 3 years, if you want to talk to people on a ride, it's absolutely worthless. It's paired to your phone already, the app can't find it. You finally get it to work, your unit drops out 35 seconds after you take off. It's only good for listening to music, do not expect to be able to talk to anybody consistently on a ride. Also, remember to turn the music volume up in the settings, every single time, or you won't hear it at max volume. Your settings DO NOT SAVE.
