1-14-21: I think the new app design is really good for the most part. When you adjust the settings for the order of the scores of the sports leagues you see, it will still show it in alphabetical order. So, the NBA appears as the first sport unless you delete the NBA or any other league scores entirely based on alphabetical order. The previous version allowed you to adjust the leagues you see in the order you prefer to see them. There is still no sports scores widget! I used to recommend

Used to be a real good sports reporting app. Within sometime in August / September 2018, some update has now made the app drain the batteries on both an iPhone & Android phone that I have. And it seems that the app is always pulling a lot of data constantly, even during a 5 minute read of an article. The power drain was so great that both phones got quite warm all around in about a 10 - 15 minute period. I do not know what what done, but I had to uninstall the app from both phones, which are two different operating systems. Please fix!!!

Nice customisation. Used to be quick and clean now... I only use it for scores and articles. However I have had to remove it due and am looking elsewhere because of the pop ups. Every article I try and read from the notifications leads me to a pop up browser window that congratulates me on winning a gives me a free spin. The only way out is to close the window. No choice but to change apps.

***UPDATE*** After the update, this app is bad. They had fixed my last complaint about pop up ads and I did not give credit in my review. My bad. It had become my favorite sports app again. Now they've updated the whole format of it and it's terrible. The scores are small and not easy to find. NCAA baseball is suffering you have to dig to find. Ads, which I understand are revenue generators, are too frequently interspersed with content in a way that interferes considerably with the content.

*** UPDATE 07/26/2021 *** Got a new phone (LG V60). The widget doesn't work. After initially setting it up on the screen, it works for about 5 minutes then everything goes blank. All you have is the arrow and the CBSSports logo in the bottom right. Everything else is blank gray. Uninstall/Reinstall several times with the same result each time. It's unfortunate, because when this app works, it is my preferred go to for sports info but every once in awhile a huge bug will pop up and make it unusable. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Does what you think it should, but causes a 20 minute delay when starting the app. My phone shows "Optimizing App 1 of 1" and uses a ton of battery at every restart when this app is installed. I reached out to their technical support but they just blew me off and blamed it on my cell carrier (AT&T).

The update for stats in the game is horrible. You have to scroll side ways to see the stats and it's hard to use that way. Half the screen is now dominated by the header. You had the best app layout for stats and completely screwed it up. Unusable for details. Update: didn't fix a thing and made it worse. Scrolling is completely unusable. Get to the bottom and can't go back up without exiting and coming back in!

WAS my favorite scores app, but it has become totally useless. Doesn't update often, and from the widget, even when touching the refresh button, nothing happens. And when you try to open the app from the widget, it goes to a blank screen and the only thing you can do is hit the home button to close it out! Come on CBS get your **** together!

The 2021 update moved this from 4 stars to one at least so far. Before update this was by far the best sports app, replaced ESNP for me. I want scheduled games, reported scores and more only when I click on it. Now it is very hard to figure out with no instructions. Even Googled to find direction with no lick. Only shows a few of the games even with All Conf. For ex, Sat (3/13) it shows one game to be played! Will look for an alternative if they don't fix it soon.

I had this app for 5 years until About a year ago when it updated. It totally sucks. I downloaded it today to see if they fixed it, but instead is even worse. You have to Manually go to each sport to look at scores. The tiny little scores below the video just don't cut it! You use to have everything on one page and it was easy, now i need a doctrate to figure it out! Its all because of sports betting. Fire your online designer immediately. I'll never be back, you lost me forever

UPDATE: 2-5-2020 Not sure why CBS decided to remove some very useful widgets???? It's not just another sports app. This USED to be the best sports app. Very easy to use and the widgets are top notch. Everything is at a glance. Fast and simple. Update 4-6-17 Used to be better. Now filled with more ads which means I can't read a few sentences without getting pounded by a stationary banner ad along the bottom and one right in the middle of the glorious articles I want to read.

I have been using this app for years. Easily the best sports app out there. Is it perfect? No it's not. But, scores are updated quickly. News is always new and up to date. Same writers have been there for years so it's nice to see familiar "faces" writing the articles. For a free app, there's not many ads at all which is huge. Only thing I wish is that it was more customizable. The latest update defaults to News when it used to default to Scores. Minor gripe overall. Keep up the good work!

Your initiative to make users "watch" news updates has forced me to uninstall your app. Your app has lost it's usefulness to me as a result. The average user who has a full time job does not want to be inundated with alerts we have to watch. If an amazing play or something historic happened, sure, but other wise the user is looking for a quick summary to remain up to date with the latest news and that's it. You are pushing your users away with your new focus!

May 2021: Scores and content load only after a minute or so of spinning, and some content doesn't appear at all without closing the app and reopening. Inconvenient. Apps are for convenience. Do the math. 2016: Good for scores and the basics. Easy to use, runs pretty fast. I would like a little more headline content above the fold.

This is THE best app for tracking scores. The scoreboard is easy to read, has a drop-down filter to let you see a specific conference for college sports, and is the first thing you see when opening the app. The app is highly customizable and highlights news and scores for your favorite teams. The only things missing are useful widgets and app shortcuts.

The content is great, best of the major media sports apps. But there are interface problems: push notifications never take you to the right article; the back button within the app closes the app; menu navigation could be better to help as a workaround, but you can't access the menu from the (wrong) article you have been taken to. Edit: tried again, may have fixed some of those issues, but I deleted because try as I might I couldn't get the app to stop sending me NFL notifications. Uninstalled

It has been glitching the last few times I've used it. The audio and picture don't match, and the video are so jumpy it's almost unbearable to watch. I reset all of my connections and it's still like this... ***Update*** it's 2 years later and the app is still absolute garbage. It doesn't go longer than 5 seconds without buffering, and it's NOT my hardware or connection. Don't offer an app if it doesn't f**king work!

I have tried to watch the Master's on seven (7!!!) different tvs and 5 different devices!!! Nothing works! absolutely nothing. the same error message nonstop. I even went to the store to buy a Chromecast since that was the only streaming device I hadn't tried. (I've tried several different Roku TVs, 4 different Samsung Smart TVs, two tablets, three phones and now a chromecast. All with the same error message!! We're having trouble playing your video. I've watched the whole week without problems

I really like this app. I like how easy it is to customize what content you see, and I appreciate articles having an estimated read time. Hiwever there are 2 things that drag this app down. One is how articles on any given team or league's news page are all mixed rather than in order from new to old. Another is if I have an article open, leave the app to do something else without closing it, then come back, the app brings me to the home page rather than the article, which I have to find again.

It's an okay app. The key value is that it's not ESPN but they push MLB and NBA news way too hard and don't update NFL or NCAA content enough. Lots of in-article video ads! If your a fan of NHL this is a terrible source to get news. Pretty decent for football/soccer scores but not content. They push golf news pretty hard too. Not much choice for customization. You can list your favorite teams but those news stories show under their featured content which again is based on their choice.

This has to be the worst app of all the apps I have on my cell phone!! You can't even look at highlights from sports without it continuing to buffer! And it does not matter if I have a situation with my internet Wi-Fi or not it still continues to do this constantly and I'm almost at the point to where I actually want to delete the app and find another one where if I want to see scores of sports that I could look at that one as to this pathetic app!!!
