I conjuction with another app...it started to work really well. It pro it that it allows you to create and save multiple repertoires

So much easier and fun than reading books on openings. It is challenging, but the spaced repetition makes it possible for anyone to learn the language of openings.

It's absolutely fantastic and will help massively with my chess games of all types to get into many middlegames where I'm in a mostly better position and practice proper endgames against strong players.

Not perfect, and still needs a lot of work. That said, I think this tool is very powerful already. I don't normally subscribe to services like these but if you put work into this tool, it basically replaces all your paid chess opening resources, such as books or chess*ble, by enabling you to simply write a personalized book for yourself. Highly recommend. I would prefer it not to be subscription based however. I don't need access to repertoires made by other people.

The app would be perfect if in practice mode, I can see the name actually opening (game) I'm supposed to play. Instead of guessing which one in my repertoire comes next. You'll earn the fifth star then. Great app tho. Recommend it.

Brilliant app to study openings, two things though: I don't really see the point of having to find the moves yourself in the model games for the openings, in my opinion it would be more beneficial if there was a little text explaining what the course of the game has to do with the opening or something after you finish your repertoire. The app was also a bit buggy when I exported a few smaller repertoires and imported them all into a single repertoire. The "1 in x games" number was different etc.

Smart system. I'm grateful. It's a great app but not explaining is a downside. I know that you can fight the side of lots of different moves... But at least give why that maybe a better move than the other one... Thank you... Ooo also have membership tiers. Thank you

Fantastic app. I'm 1200 but I don't know much about theory. I just play off vibes basically. This has completely changed my perspective on chess.

Ok it's pretty good but it's weirdly glitchy. You can complete a repertoire, on the Sicilian for example, and it will never get to 100% because it will keep telling you to address a move that's not from the Sicilian. Then, even if you get up to 98%, the next time you open the program it might only be at 89%. How does that happen? Is it forgetting?

Well this app can help you improve, it helps you with moves that recommend or see what move is best and it tells you how many people use these moves

Easily the best chess guide app ever, just the most simplistic, the best one there is. just learn how to use it and you are good to go

This is by far the best opening repertoire builder and trainer out there. Generous 100 move for white and black makes it very useful even for free. The way it checks your game results and detects when you failed to follow your repertoire and then gives you extra training on those positions is genius.

Really excellent for practicing and perfecting your technique. The repetition, if you do really thorough dives into your openings, can help by leaps and bounds when you get to a game.

Great app with a lot of potential. One of the more intuitive chess repertoire apps. There are some occasional bugs, although most are very minor. Unfortunately on OnePlus 12, there is an issue where the top of the app above the chess board is obscured by the status bar. I understand this is most probably due to the unusual aspect ratio of my device, but it greatly impacts me using the app. I have been unable to find a solution to this issue. If this were fixed the app would be 5 stars.

Great app, you can get a lot out of it for free especially as a lower level player. Because let's be honest, most players don't need more than 100 lines for each color. However I give 4 stars because it's missing some kind of notification system. It will give you a game to review and moves to practice but I would an option to be reminded.

A little under a year ago, I was thinking about programming a basic openings repertoire maker/trainer for myself. I had come up with a list of features I wanted, and was getting ready to start coding when I ran across Chessbook. It turns out that this app was everything I was looking for and more! It's also under active development, and keeps getting better. I would consider this app the definitive way to truly learn your openings.
