App is good, does what it's supposed to.hopefully they'll create an added second part that'll bridge the sensor to your wifi. I was good since I had an extra smart phone could leave plugged in in vicinity of my humidor. It's still around 50-100 bucks to get a capable smart phone that runs at least android 5.1 to tether the blue tooth to wifi so you can check it from wherever. The function of the app is simplistic and easy to navigate, and the price of the monitor is super cheap. + plus no wires!

App doesn't work unless you give it full permissions. I couldn't add a sensor until I changed location access to all the time, not just while using the app. It crashed until I gave it permission to access my camera and photos. I don't need those features, I just want to monitor humidity. This is a huge privacy concern.

I can't even create an account. It tells me registration error every time and to contact support. I've sent emails to blusteam (support), called cigars international (owners), emailed boveda (old owners), and then sent emails to blusteam again. No one seems to know who is in charge of this app. The answer is blusteam and they won't respond. This app might work for other people but I can't even get it started, so for me it's an absolute one star.

Love the product, however the persistent notification at the top of my android is driving me nuts. However when I am miles away from my unit, there shouldn't be a persistent notification, if I turn off notifications, then I will miss a temp/humidity notification. I would rate this 5 stars if there wasn't a persistent notification 24/7. Update: I first contacted Boveda on 5/14/19 about this issue. Still no fix. My 1 star review stands.

Tried adding my Boveda sensor and got stuck on the permissions page of the app without any way to advance. Eventually had mydevice show up, calibrated for 24 hours and it said finalizing calibration for another 24 hours. Got fed up and tried manually setting the humidy levels and it never did. Doesn't seem to be a way to adjust it manually. Deleted the device and the app thinking I did something wrong, and now I can't load the app as it's stuck on the permissions again. Not usable.

Excited to get this this celebrated and in use. Just like many have said I'm unable to login and wont even let me create a new account with a different email. Tried everything I can think of. Guess now I have to wait a few days to hear back from boveda support. Disappointing. Edit finally got logged in but now it wont link the the butler. Issue after issue with this setup.

I have 2 sensors. One reads all over the place even after calibrating multiple times. The other rarely connects to the app. The app is super buggy and usually takes multiple attempts to "calibrate," which still doesnt read 75% in the supplied calibration bag. Contacted boveda. Even responding to their emails comes back with an error. Overall, if you care about your cigars, this app and the smart sensor/butler will probably leave you with more questions then answers.

App stopped working some time ago. I tried reinstalling it, and in order for me to access the app, it needs permission to access pics and vids. This is an app to monitor a hygrometer, and access to my personal content shouldn't be needed. However, if you deny the permissions, the app won't open. I recommend going with an analog hygrometer and not use this app.

Not a fan of the app but at least it used to work. It would update and show me my tracking. My humidor is awesome and was rock steady. Since the new UI update, I get zero tracking. Battery shows 100% but nothing. Swapped battery and still nothing. Starting to feel like this is just one big ad for Boveda and not actually a way to track my cigars. Shouldn't be that hard to store data as I know it is getting the data from the device.

Boveda has decided to discontinue the Boveda Butler. This is probably for the best. The app and concept were great, in the beginning. However, like others I have had nothing but trouble with the app for the last year or so. It is time to switch to a sensor that is more reliable. I spend too much money on cigars to not know how they are stored, all the time.

The app looks nice but the sensors stop sending data after a few months. They show full battery and connected via Bluetooth, but won't display temperature or humidity data. They also do not push the alerts like they say they will. This has happened to two different sensors. Don't bother with this app and device. They still don't have the bugs worked out and if you are relying on low humidity alerts you might find out too late they are not working.

Since the last update it works again! Before I couldn't reconnect the device to my phone no matter what I've tried. It works!!! Haven't found any flaws for now, so fingers crossed. I'm debating to disable auto updates, because I don't want to have any more issues with it. Update November 1st 2019 Stopped syncing for no reason. Can't reconnect it at all. More than 3 years later and this app is still garbage.

The app doesn't sync with the sensor, missing data from reports, no alerts, and the app mostly freezes or crashes. This could be so much better but the app support is lagging way behind. Update: As of 22 March, the sensor just stopped working. The app cannot connect, data is not transferring and nothing is happening. Update: As of 13 May, the app is finally working and no issues.

The app is good for what it is. But Bluetooth? Apparently I only want to monitor my cigars when I'm right next to them. And the app wants to turn off your battery optimization so it can constantly monitor... What is the point of that if I'm out of the house? Running the app if I'm out of range does nothing but take a toll on my phone battery. Wifi with data loaded to my Boveda account with push notifications please! Also have issues installing the app on a 2nd phone, tells me the pass is wrong.

The sensor is a great idea, but has never worked right. I have talked to customer service and was led to believe that I didn't do the calibration corrected. This was not the case. The app is buggy and refuses to connect, doesn't update when it does connect, complains about denied permissions (why does it need camera access?) And flat out doesn't work. I have been fighting with this since it was released, and at this point I decided that it just isn't worth the effort.

Absurdly slow to show historical data... I mean that I have to force-quit the app if I accidentally click History button. This happens with 3 different phone models (one right after factory reset), and happens regardless of wifi or LTE connection. Also please let the user know that you can't save a profile without a picture! I wasted an hour of trial-and-error to simply save my first profile!

Easy Peasy. The whole system makes keeping your humidor perfect a mindless endeavor. I used to have to refill reservoirs every 2 weeks. Now I just wait for the app to tell me when it needs a refill and I order a new packet. It gives me alerts for temp, humidity, and impacts. It couldn't be any easier unless they came and replaced the packs or the batteries for me. Would recommend to everyone and have recommended to multiple people already. Well worth the money.

I got the smart sensor as a freebie on a cigar purchase. I installed the app and it worked for a few weeks but now the app will not even open, and if it does, will not connect, saying it is an " internet connection issue". I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times but it doesn't help. Not a single bit of value in this product package if the app doesn't work!!

I bought 2 of these devices thinking they would be great cause they had the Boveda name on it. I was wrong they are straight garbage. Difficult to calibrate (had to repair the device 3 times taken over 3days), unable to download the history on them, no push notifications as promised. I highly doubt the reading you are getting in the app is accurate real time. All you are told is to contact blustream, who only gives the same answer they have given since launch which is an update is coming.

My issues are the same as many of those mentioned by others. The device fails to update for days at a time, log updates lag excessively and there are large swaths of days and times where the device does not push updates for the temperature or humidity levels to the phone. We keep getting told that an update to address these issues is coming, but months after being told that its "weeks away" we still dont have an update. I love the idea of the product and I continue to hold out hope that Boveda is able to address these product issue soon.
