The map pointer didn't always track us immediately, but was great once it had 'locked on'. The map details were a bit patchy in places, but it was very good in the places I needed. The ability to search for AND mark and make notes on your own places was especially useful. I decided to get the upgrade. Our whole family found it invaluable in Prague and Budapest especially.

Unfortunately, to read Wikipedia articles in English you have to set your phone's language to "English". If you could instead choose to read Wikipedia articles in languages other than the system language on the app, it would be perfect! So I could keep the system in Italian but read the articles in English..

Excellent for offline use and finding locals points of interests. The downside is lack of currency. In my local area alone, it's missing more than half of the restaurants, shops, and gas stations that have opened in the last 1 - 3 years. Contrast to Google Maps and nothing is missing including a recently opened restaurant.

I probably should have used the app before I got the paid version. I just don't get it. You can't use it for directions so you need Google anyway. You can't browse sites on the map and getting a list of things is a really slow way to find what's nearby. There are "ratings" for locations but it isn't clear where the ratings come from. There are many "sites" that have no photo or other information, so you have to search for the site to see if it's worth visiting. Overall just not very useful.

Im new to this appp, as a recommendation from a traveler. So far, the info on places is nice as well as being able to save them in a list. But, the app keeps downloading maps. They get listed on my phone notifications and will not clear unless I delete thm in the app. i dont like the constant downloading. it should just be live access unless I request otherwise. Im planning to Portugal trip soon. i will test its worth then.

Love this app! I have used it successfully for many trips to Europe, when navigating around a city on foot, all using wifi only - no data required. Helps to pinpoint where I am, what streets will help me get to my next destination, and allows me to drop pins for hotels, restaurants, etc. I find it invaluable when traveling. I don't leave home without my maps already downloaded, and important sights pinned.

I like the options of what this app offers. Unfortunately the BIG downside is the memory drain it causes. for some reason once opened it constantly works in the background, increasing the heat of my phone and draining the battery. closing the app doesn't prevent this from happening. I have to go into the system and force stop to prevent it. really a shame because this could be a great app that I would use more often if it didn't kill my battery....

Keeps attempting to download a map after its done and destroyed my battery. 24% of my battery gone in about 3 hours. The notification was up saying it was still downloading, but it had finished a long time ago. I had to force stop the application to have it knock off it's tomfoolery. A lot of the areas I was looking in for my trip to Japan only have Kanji characters and no English, so I won't be able to use this app at all once I leave Tokyo. Find a better app for offline maps.

Edit: The update fixed the issue but it lost my pro account and will no longer let me download multiple maps. Also, the support email gives me a delivery failure response when I try to discuss the issue. Overall, I think the app is great, but I recently had an error regarding data migration and the app is now completely unusable. I have tried to contact the developer, but no one has helped me fix the issue.

I tested this app during travel in Chicago for the first time. Very helpful. Then I took it to Prague and downloaded maps for all of our trips outside the City to use without a data plan. Amazing. I created lists around entire neighborhoods I wanted to visit. It helped in conjunction with transit maps for tram and subway stops. Getting ready to download a map for San Diego. The only app I have paid for besides a VPN.

It is great that this app can be used 'offline'. Came in handy for my 18 day trip to Lisbon, Portugal, August 2021. My friends, from that country allowed me to stay in their home & have a restaurant in the same city. The maps app provided me a walking transit from their home to their restaurant, about 7km an effortless experience. 😗 I was also allowed to make permanent plot locations of their home, restaurant, other points of interest that I found on the web that I planned a visit in the city.

how do you get wrong that grand central is not in Manhattan? there is an article talking about iyster spots in NYC. The article is correct, but the app says it's in kings county, New york. Besides being just wrong, how does the app not get that the map location shows Manhattan which is NOT in king's county? I don't believe getting the correct county is hard, YOU'RE A MAPPING APPLICATION!!! Regardless of whether you upgrade, you're constantly bombarded with rhs upgrade to premium message. skip this. not worth it.

I don't know what I'm missing but the UI is so infuriating. I can't search for addresses, no results, and when I just picked a random location to see what the directions would be like, no directions or navigation options. I clicked on everything a reasonable person could think to click and nothing. What am I missing? Im guess this is not a good replacement for Google maps like I was hoping

Absolutely horrible. Hangs when trying to open.I planned a 1-month trip to Europe and set up many hotels and when I got there it didn't open at all just hung up the phone. Support responded to uninstall/reinstall, but I lose info previously added. The problem may be related to installing a local sim. Be careful to back up before. I bumped up one star, but the app should not do this. 2nd edit: Sebastian in support has been very helpful in trying to help me recover my lost data. I will add another

saved me in Europe many times when Google maps couldn't even locate my location! update - for developer only 4 stars because it lacks the ability to find addresses of anything not already on the search list. and there is no ability to show routes or navigation. you have to navigate yourself using the location tracking and you already have to know the point/address you need to find if it's not an attraction. not too difficult but a little clunky.

This app is the best thing ever! If you are a budget traveler like myself and want to have a detailed map that shows where you are at all times, without paying for a pricey foreign data plan, this app is the way to go! I have been using it for more than 4 years now, in 9 different countries. And it works out awsome everywhere I go. I did start to have trouble with it not loading the map while offline, but I just reinstalled the app like Ulmon suggested, and it works great again!!

I previously really liked this app for the off-line maps. Now it doesn't work if I'm off-line, which makes it completely useless to me. I downloaded maps before going hiking because the maps had the trails but, when I tried to use it on the trail, it wouldn't load the map because I didn't have data access in spite of the fact that I supposedly had the map stored on my phone and it takes up a substantial amount of storage space. I don't see the point if I can't get the "maps-to-go".

I've used this app for years. Recently I've somehow lost access to the map access I've previously had access to. In the past whenever the app acted up I was able to communicate with support and get a response. I've tried that this time, reaching out to the email point several times, but there's been no reply. I'm very disappointed, but I shouldn't be surprised after their user data leak from January of 2020. This app has gone downhill.

I used this app for years while traveling and really loved being able to visualize the places I'd been to/starred on one map and, unfortunately, it was the only place I kept info about many places I'd been for future reference. They recently did "updates" to the app and erased my entire map/starred list, without warning, and there's no way to recover any of it. I have a hard time recommending anything that doesn't value/protect its users' personal information 😕

A bit of a learning curve but well worth the time. I've used the app in several European cities and the maps were very detailed and accurate. The maps I have used also included a large region surrounding each city which has been very helpful. You can navigate without any Internet access, since it uses GPS to track your position.
