I have read many, many reviews. But, I figuredI'll try it. And I am VERY happy to advise I did not encounter any problems. I can see where it trips people up with scanning this and that. And when it asked for me to put my face in an oval picture type frame. It looked strange as hell, but all of a sudden it says OK. CONTINUE. Then after that it took maybe 2 minutes to complete the survey. I probably spent a total 10 minutes from start to finish. I love it. Try it out!

Honestly setting this up was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. If you line your ID up with the corners, it tells you its not close enough. You move it closer and suddenly it can't read it. There is no inbetween. I opted to just use the image it said was readable but not close enough & it was fine but it took like 10 minutes of retaking photos just to get one that worked. And it would not read my QR code for my vaccine card at all.

Horrible app. I tried multiple times to upload my ID and it continued to say too much glare...when it accepted it it claimed document wasnt found. The Hawaii travel app is so much easier to upload documents. I just gave up, we have our physical cards but they aren't the greatest size to carry in your wallet. We also have pictures of them on our phones, but I did at least drive to make it easier for venues by downloading this app.

Been trying for about a month on my android to get ready for a convention. The end of the process always ends with a "Having Trouble?" screen. I've tried contacting their live chat who disconnected me without responding to my explaination of what I'm dealing with. And emailing them did not result in any fixes as well since they told me to do the same things I've been trying since a month ago. If you've gotten it to work then good on you, but as of right now, it's a broken app that needs fixing.

Completely broken, I can't even log in. I have been a Clear member for a couple of years now and the airport experience is great, but apparently they have no idea how to build an app. When prompted to enter my email it either gets stuck in a loop and repeatedly prompts me, or dumps me back on the start page with nothing having been accomplished.

It's rare I feel motivated to leave an app review, but Clear's complete failure at a semblance of any customer support means if anything goes wrong, it is very very very difficult to resolve. Facial recognition is iffy and hasn't matched my face to my picture once yet - I have to go through an extended run around with their support every time I access the app. Terrible, but mandatory for some events and employers.

Off to a bad start. Let's hope it works when we check in at the event. Eventually got the android app working on my phone, and the iOS version on my sig other's iPhone but both had problems. Has difficulty scanning the printed vax card. But zero feedback or error messages. The iPhone version repeatedly crashed on attempting to open a California digital vax card. The help button sends a text to Clear but the text on my phone was "undeliverable". On my SO's iPhone, Clear answered her text at 5:30 am with a stream of automated texts of no use, then "closed her ticket" because she hadn't responded -- at 5:30 am.

Honestly worked better than I expected based off of these comments. I can't speak for connecting to a provider, but I scanned my CDC card, and that worked just fine. Yes, admittedly it took a few tries for it, but all in all it worked out. It did take a bit to scan my ID, but you do have the option to submit an ID photo even if you haven't checked all 3 marks. The vax card is the only one that /has/ to be up to the apps standards. My only complaint is that I can't change my app ID photo.🤷🏽‍♂️

This app is kind of useless. You don't need it at the airport. Even to sign up, they airport staff didn't need it. Trying to get my COVID vax record on it and it got stuck in "in progress" forever after connecting it to my doctor system (Epic). Worse yet, you call/chat for support and the reps dont even know what you are talking about, ask for screenshots (which you can't take of course). Maybe it might be useful for events... But the amount of venues is limited. Layout is confusing.

Getting registered is ridiculous. They want you to put a photo id in a space smaller than the id and then tell you try again. Then if you quit after giving your email and pphone number and try agai, it's as if you were never in the system and have to input both email and phone and go through the verification process. Thought it'd make it easier to enter the ballpark, but forget it. Not worth the frustration of trying to get a photo id scanned with their app.

This app is IMPRESSIVELY bad. Had me re-scan my document at least 30 times, and complained about glare regardless of angle, location or lighting. I even took 1 shot in darkness and it still complained of glare. If you're lucky enough to get past the scanning phase, you're rewarded with a "We're having issues" error screen and kicked back to the beginning. Absolutely terrible app. Less than useless, and has the nerve to spout "Simplifying your life" during loading screens between failures.

Very poor interface. Instructions appear clear, but: (a) It was very difficult to photograph any form of ID; I had to go to a surprisingly dim location to stop it saying "too much glare." (b) The address screen accepted pasted input, but would not allow me to click "Next"; I had to delete it all and type it manually instead. (c) Once I finally got it to accept and confirm my data, it ended on "Retrieving your results; this may take around 1 minute," but I've waited a lot longer than that and nothing happens. Have yet to see where it will actually be useful.

Can't make an account because it requires weird lighting for photos. I.e. I have to create a shadow on my photo ID because even the slightest bit of light is "Too much glare." It does this thing where the flash turns on almost every time at random when I try to take a picture, so it automatically says "Too much glare." Flash is off on my camera app's settings, and there's no option to turn off the random flash. The oval face scan also doesn't work, and keeps causing me to restart the process.

There are areas in the app that are not intuitive. for instance when you are required to take a photo to validate your ID. The camera controls are not available on the interface and there are no suggestions of what isn't working. If you find it isn't passing the photo confirmation, the issue is likely low light. It takes a pretty bright light to confirm. Flip on a bright overhead light, start with the camera close to you and move it away. It will vibrate when it is good.

Difficult to navigate, does not work well, and the scan your vaccination card option does not work. And under FAQ it suggests that you can very easily cancel your membership by going into your account and clicking "cancel" but that is not an option I see in my account. Maybe because I signed up for the free option? I only downloaded the app to attend a game. Instead, I will just arrive early and go through the in-person screening. 2 stars instead of 0 because the customer service was lovely.

Vaccine info could use some work. The whole validation process seems very secure but is very convoluted, involving shooting pictures of yourself, various documents, and QR codes. All well and good, and I ended up with what seemed to be a useful vax record. But then I tried to pull it up again two days later, and all the info had been deleted. It wanted me to start over from the beginning. Doesn't give me much confidence to bring it to an airport. I'll stick to the official California app.

the clear service is a joke. I don't think I've ever been through security with this service faster than the general security line. not once. and then half the time the scanners don't even work and the person standing there just perpetually fiddles with it wasting even more time. so you're paying to go through security exponentially slower. multiple times I've been through the airport with friends who go through general security and they are through and sitting waiting on us to go through clear.

The section where you reserve a time is verry buggy. Max party size is capped at one, the page refreshes if you make any wrong movement (like rotating the screen, scrolling up, or if your screen starts to lock), and it tells you that you need an appointment to continue when it never lists the appointment options. Feels totally broken.

App is fine, but the service itself is generally worthless. TSA pre check alone is faster at most locations. They need to fix their technology and staff appropriately. I don't see the benefit. I have to show my ID and get an eye scan, and they take up more time trying to enroll me in their upgraded system every time I go through. Save your money and skip it.

Matthew Bier

Service does NOT get you through the airport any faster than the regular security line. About half of the time I have used the clear line it has been slower than the regular security line. It has not been fast one time. Considered how expensive this service it I would call this whole thing a scam. They also make it very difficult to cancel and the entire process of cancelling from inside the app needs to be redesigned. Do not sign up, you will regret it.
