Recent update has really made the app much less functional. You can no longer see balances in the drop downs, the app doesn't seem to update or refresh as easily as before. Also I've noticed that it duplicates some transactions. I like the new look but that's about all. There are many people here complaining about the same issues so hopefully there will be a fix in place soon. I wish I could somehow roll back the update. This is annoying!

Horrible app. Have been using this a few months now so my husband and I could share an up to date checkbook on the go. However the app is not user friendly. I have spent hours trying to find why a balance is not matching up with no error on my end. There must be a ghost transaction somewhere... Super frustrating. You need to click out of the entry feild and go back to put in a decimal, and it doesn't always sync properly. Great idea but not worth any amount of money.

It's nice to be able to synch so my wife and I can both use it to enter transactions. However, the balances have always been off. Usually it can be fixed but the other day we spent 3 hours plus going through bank statements and still couldn't find where the discrepancy was. It even sometimes shows different transactions on her phone than mine. While trying to "jive" it with the bank today I deleted a transaction and the balance didn't change. It's one more phantom balance away from "uninstall".

I agree with another reviewer. I've been using the app since 2014/2015 as well. This was a fantastic app until the last update. The look of the screens has changed drastically. I also have issues with transactions being added twice. Yesterday, I tried to reconcile with the bank and I'm out of balance over $400.00. There are transactions from 2016 and 2018 that were showing as unjived; when I mark them jived, I am out of balance. I am on version 4.0.14. Bring back the old look please!

Been using the app for awhile to track my transactions and for the most part, it's a pretty good app. I like that it's just a simple register, that's all I was looking for. Lately though, when I click into a specific account to add a transaction, the selected account changes when I'm finished creating the transaction, which throws off my balances. Please fix this issue. Other than that, it's a great app.

Updated 08.19.20 After the last update on 08.15.20, my issues have been resolved. I have adjusted my review accordingly. Updated: 08.14.20. After the correction of the last review, they still receive a 1 star. I have had this app for years and never had an issue with the bills portion. Now, everytime I pay a bill on the "Your Bills" page, it deducts the amount from my total and shows it paid under the "bills" tab but now it fails to add it to my actual register. There is nothing for me to see so that I can jive it once it clears my bank. I have contacted support numerous times, only for them to suggest that I was paying the wrong "instances" of the bill. I have been using this app for well over 3 years and now I'm the problem. This app worked just fine until the last update, which then brought on numerous additional updates. Please just fix the issue without being insulted. Update 3.19.17 I put the app back only phone today and keep getting an error of "unable to login." Login and password are correct. Zero balances and sometimes my items post and sometimes not.

For the most part works great. I love the jived/unjived aspect for charges that haven't yet posted to my account. 1 major issue I have in the app when making multiple transactions that are similar it gives me a "network error: transaction already exists" error. I have to force close the app over and over to get it to work. I do multiple account transfer every Fri and this is a huge headache. Also, recurring transactions would be great. Edit: I see recurring is available on the browser side.

I'm sorry to give this a bad rating because I've been using this for several years with no problems. But the last update isnt good. As mentioned in other review some of the layout has changed making it difficult to do the entries. I can't edit the descriptions anymore and it's freezing when I go to search for a transaction. Please fix or return to previous version!

I've used this application years ago, and am back after using other programs. Even with all of the small glitches in ClearCheckbook it is a superior product to anything else out there (even the monolith Quicken). My favorite feature of this product is that it doesn't store any of my information and lets me make my own reports. Sure, there's quite a large learning curve (Jive???) but I've seen good improvements since I last used it.

Excellent, with great updates recently. Shows you what your balances will be on future dates as long at you enter the transaction data. I still want integration with Google Calendar so that your Jived (=cleared) Balance and Overall Balance are posted to your Google Calendar, along with Bill Reminders, so that you can see right on calendar how much $$ you will actually have in your account (Overall Balance) on future dates, along with where the bills fall on your calendar. But, make no mistake, this is an excellent app and it's the website, and the Android app's syncing with it, that really make this great.

I like that I can use reminders and bill pay in the app now, but the app as a whole does not work as well as before. When you go to select an account it doesn't show account balances anymore in the drop down options. It does not update with the pull down refresh swipe like before, you have to go to each individual account separately to refresh balance. Very inconvenient. Please fix.

It seems to be a okay app for writing out checks, paying bills and keeping track of expenses. I was only wanting something to create imaginary records for a project but it apparently doesn't work unless you have it hooked up to your bank account. I didn't like that it doesn't give you a way to edit the info on the accounts. Kind of simple, mediocre features, not many useful features. I'm not sure I would want to use it for actual business connected to my actual bank.

I don't know what updates were made to the app, but they are ill-conceived and make using the app even more difficult to use than it already was. The search feature is ridiculous, as it now requires that you scroll up to the top of the transaction page to enter your search field. In the scheduled payments section, I can't delete the transaction details and enter new values. Such a shame because I recently upgraded to a premium account, and then they updated the app & ruined the whole experience.

Loved this app until their recent update. I used to be able to put $0 in the amount and can't do that anymore. It also is putting some of my transactions in the wrong accounts. I know what I am doing but the app chooses to move the transaction to a different account. Let me choose. So disappointed. I have used this app for years and loved it.

Latest update is not user friendly. Can no longer swipe to go from reminders to bills. I now have to minimize keyboard to approve transaction. When putting in a new entry, there is no decimal to add cents. I have to hit the description then go back up to amount to enter the cents. There is no telling whatever else might be messed up. I have used this app for years and this update might just force me back to my old app.

Loved this app until the latest update. Then it all went down hill. My husband and I both have a monthly car wash payment that comes out on the same day. Used to be able to enter it no issues now it only wants to enter 1. I know having to have one under a different name isn't a huge deal but its just a hassle when it used to work fine. It takes forever to load now and doesn't put entries in the order they were entered. Just aggravating since other transactions get added twice only added once

Nothing but issues after the last update. Time to try something different. Update did not fix issues. I have moved on to a different app. Too bad, I have used clearcheckbook since it launched. Update 11/29/2020: App never went back to the way it was before the update and premium. Anyone looking for a similar app that works flawlessly try Volkron check book.

ACTUALLY, I just logged on after clearing cache and everything was reversed. It finally balanced & now it's f'd. I do love this product, but just recently switched to app. Can't say I love it. Things don't jive or sync so I create two entries or delete one that looks like a duplicate. I've emailed twice and no reply. That's hence the 3 stars. At the end of the day, after emailing the balance did balance. Which makes no sense. But service matters, guys. This is historical data of our money flows.

I really enjoy Clear Checkbook! Been using it since 2012. But the app is not very user friendly. The search option is touchy. You can't add the same description/amount twice without an error. Sometimes it doesn't post an entry. I re-enter the transaction only to be off when trying to balance. Eventually I use my computer and find it was posted twice. I deleted the app & added a shortcut to the actual website. Love the website!!

Used this app for years as my chosen checkbook register. It has always worked perfectly for my needs, but there was an update this week that has changed that. One of the things I loved about the app was that I could set up virtual "accounts" to save for things like Christmas, and when I wasn't using them I could make them inactive and hide them from my view. With this update, the app shows even inactive accounts. It still works, but having to wade through inactive accounts is a pain.
