Its fantastic, easy to use and good for crosswords. Word of the day increases my vocabulary. All in all super, great, smashing 😁

Not very good content, word of the day banal and most annoyingly the icon pops up on screen and interferes with using other apps - there's nowhere in settings to stop it doing that

Very bad app although it says Oxford Thesaurus. Don't buy it ‼️ Very lousy. This app can be further improved with more entries and more lengthy explanations. Merriam Webster is better and cheaper

Slow, clunky, very limited & incapable of recognising foreign terms (eg. Latin ab initio, in utero, ad nauseum). When Farlex Free Dictionary is sipping a victor's flute of champagne, this app's still panting towards the finish line.

I'll give y'all a star for your captivating app's name but as far as word of the day goes, bad word selections the point of a word of the day is to learn new words not see familiar ones 🤦🏽♂️ even thereafter you still have to search for a certain word ( & from a) rather than to be given words you'd like to know but then again, maybe that isn't what this app was for 🤷🏽♂️ 2 stars ✨😌

Completely useless ... many important definitions are missing. Words like 'acronym' and many others are missing. It does not show you how to pronounce the words ... Uninstalling ... '0 stars'

Won't work until I give it permission to view all the photos on my phone. This is totally unnecessary for a dictionary app. No idea why the Oxford dictionary group wish to have spyware in the app. I have deleted it.

Pathetic 30day partial dictionary choc full of adware trying to upsell you a dictionary. Weird because I clicked on a download for a thesaurus. Shameful they don't know the difference between the two.

Not a nice GUI. More like a web browser. GUI should look more like a serious program. People who are serious about language and words may find the appearance and the front page contents very cheesy.

If I buy an app that purports to be a thesaurus, I don't expect the banner at the top of the landing page to say '"dictionary." Surely though, it will be really easy to find the thesaurus part of the thesaurus app though, right? Nope....

This said "in-app purchases", but nothing about having to pay for the app itself. Now it presents a "Buy license" button and won't continue. Is this a violation of Google's marketing terms, tricking people into installing paid apps? I doubt Oxford's directly involved; one assumes they'd have more integrity.

PRO VERSION USER. Doesn't have the word "Ecosystem". It is a very common and important word nowadays. Also, the "Word of the Day" seems to be mostly negative words. Why not show words that are positive, inspiring and relevant -- specially in this times that we are in in the Year 2020. Apps don't need to remain stagnant. If you wish to have more users, an update in word content would be great. I just want this app to be really useful and relevant. God Bless.

This is not a thesaurus. It's just a distionary. No option to change to a thesaurus... Very frustrating waste of 15 muns of my life.... EVEN if there is an option to change hidden somewhere, it is not apparent or user friendly, purely because of wasting my time this is a permanent 1* review as it is not what it says it is.

Advertised as a free app with optional upgrade, but once initial period is over, everytime you try to open and dismiss the upgrade advert (as I'm content with the basic features), it throws you out of the app completely. Will be uninstalling in due course.

I always test range of a thesaurus app after loading with the word quanked (adj. overpowered by fatigue.) I was SURE the COT would have it listed. Kept replacing in search with quack. I don't need a thesaurus when I know more words than what it contains. Uninstalling.

Heads-up: One single word was entered before this told me the Trial Version had come to an end and it was time to buy or Uninstall. Consequently it was not a hard decision. It hadn't even waited to give me the results for search. Ammend please - I would happily have been a paying customer in time.

Generally good but you still don't have a suggestion for some words though you use them in the meanings of other words; pronunciation is not available for some difficult words but is for some more easily pronounced words: You have not improved on my former comments but you are asking for a 5 Star rating; as stated above, this App is generally very good; simply address my observations and you would earn a 5 Star rating!

Hard to tell if it's a dictionary, or infact a thesaurus! External name & logo are the only references identifying this as an actual thesaurus; not a single reference from within the app. Developer should recognize the need to better differentiate this app from that of a dictionary taking into account it's name & brand/trademark. App often only lists few, if any, word antonyms with its already short synonym count. In fact this thesaurus is so "concise" it actually hinders the apps usefulness!

Excellent for guys like me who are vocabularily (that's a new word there 😊) challenged. Get's you the precise word that you are looking for. Being from the house of Oxford makes it the ultimate writing tool available in an easy to use app form. Excellent product from the pioneers of lexicography (I still have the small blue book my father got me when I was in 5th grade). Only dampener is it's overpriced for the Asian market.

I don't usually write reviews, but well. Good app overall, especially the 'favourites' section, lacking an independent search feature though which would be far more convenient for extended vocabulary lists like mine. Unfortunately, ads are hyper intrusive and pop up too often while using the app which ends up being obviously REALLY annoying. Sure there's a pro version but come on. Ads don't bother me as long as they don't hinder significantly the use. Well in this case, ads DO bother me. A lot.
