App is poorly organized and it's difficult to find information. Messaging costs $10 per person and then only works while on the ship connected to the ships WiFi... Maybe. I had to constantly disconnect and reconnect to the WiFi to get it to work. Messages would often show up very late or not be delivered at all in both directions. In 2016 this was the performance and there is NO descernable improvement on the one I just took. If you're going to charge for something then IT SHOULD WORK.

Absolutely terrible app. Crashes and refuses to update. Unfortunately, the main function (for me) was text. My wife and I would be layng in bed, not even 2 feet from each other, and only one of us would receive a group message. I'd go hours without receiving messages in the group thread then they would all drop at the same time. Go to click on a message notification? Message disappears. Pictures sent through the app would appear in my gallery but not the group thread. Terrible for communication

Holy connection reconnection. And what a pain switching between cellular and the app in port. Oh and pay extra for talk service with the unlimited internet. 2 days to get it figured out. And, don't forget to change the ringer volume on the NCL app in settings so you can hear the calls you just paid the extra $10 for. Overall, the internet service, when connected, works well.

Paid in full & app continues to show a balance that doesn't exist. We can't book excursions without paying ANOTHER $4900 on top of the almost $4k we've already paid. A debt the company acknowledges doesn't exist. I'm debating canceling at this point because I feel like they're trying to scam us for more money. It's not relaxing or fun to plan anymore. It's a big, inconvenient headache. I've only ever cruised with Royal & so far, that was a MUCH better experience.

Very little offered with this app. The ability to communicate with fellow cruisers is the best feature and mostly the only practical function. Otherwise, the dining options do not include menus, there is no helpful calendar of events, there is no access to weather forecasts, there aren't even accurate hours of operation for the bars, dining rooms, etc. The app should be better developed in order to be more helpful.

This app mirrors my whole cruise experience... Promising so much, and delivering the worst possible version of it. It barely functions, it's finicky with the ships WiFi, it doesn't contain all the information you want (eg the actual times of excursions and shows??), and it's favoriting functionality - which should help you plan your day - is so minimal and unintuitive that it does little besides get in the way.

Could and should be a very useful app, IF it didn't crash 20 times a day. We paid $10 each for my family to be able to use the onboard chat and call feature to communicate with each other. However, the app is at best very unreliable and practically useless. It crashes constantly, logs you out then requires you to re-verify your reservation constantly, or freezes completely requiring you to force close the app, then reopen and re-verify AGAIN! Lots of missed messages, and zero working phone calls

The app looks simple enough, but what a let down. I traveled with 2 older ladies and installed it on our phones in case we were separated. With the app you pay $10, add your contacts and the suite # to have contact theought the calling feature. That did not work. I spent my cruise running halls looking for my older people. We could text from time to time, but the alerts were not good. Worst app and made my cruise a nightmare. NOT recommended.

The app sucks. I just booked a cruise and downloaded the app. It is constantly crashing, I can't view all the excursions that I can see on the website. Anytime I click on the reviews I want to see, it takes me back to the main screen or once again shuts down altogether. I'm getting frustrated with this app like nobody's business.... I gave it 2 stars because I think there is hope... but we'll see... update: 1 ☆ it does nothing but crash over and over and over again

There is a problem with it on Android phones. The contacts won't allow you to call anyone without the storage permission, but the phone won't add the permissions. I've searched a lot and there doesn't seem to be a way to enable it. In app manager, it shows that it has all permissions...yet it still won't work. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!, especially since I have a big group here and can't use it to connect to anyone else!

The idea of this app is great, but the implementation is not. There's a lot of useful functionality but more often than but it would crash, freeze, or just not be able to connect to the service. Sometimes an error message would persist over the UI, blocking the functions. When it did work, it was helpful to view and book excursions, look for things to do aboard, and read the daily newsletter. It has a 24 hour limit on events, and the newsletter posts at midnight instead of earlier like 6pm

App is actually useless unless you jump through hoops. You have to turn off cellular, turn on wifi, to view anything on the app. They give you a 250 minute internet credit, but it's predatory because most people will forget you have to return and disconnect it there. You can't turn wifi off on your phone. Garbage app run by a garbage cruise line.

Rating 1 star for the Chat/Call part of the app. We just got off the Breakaway from New Orleans today with 12 others. We all paid for the messaging app. It works sometimes but was so darn finicky both on Android and iPhone. Could rarely get a call to go through as we'd get an error. A device reboot and reconnect to ship wifi seemed to help but then go to a new area of the ship, and it stopped. It was annoying because we missed parts of our group often, as we'd all try to meet up.

In the last 2 weeks, the app continually crashes, making a good portion of the planning features un-usuable. Maybe it is items not available to reserve yet? No, clue, but a message saying so, instead of App crashing would be nice.Hopefully, you have it fixed before we cruise. I'm not impressed with NCL thus far. Update, giving up. Apparentley it is all of us Android users. Deleting app, resigned to waiting in line at service desk every day for cruise updates, scheduling.

App is practically useless. It is slow with lots of bugs. It constantly crashes when trying to reserve/book any excursion or activity. Every time you open the app it ask permission to always run in the background. I still can't believe Norwegian is such a huge company and their app is terrible. I hope it works better on the cruise because this is unacceptable. Will probably update the review after the cruise.

Compared to other cruiseline apps, this app is complete garbage. You can't actually reserve things, their phone number doesn't connect to anyone while on the ship, deck maps function has a huge bug and doesn't let you easily toggle to other decks. The events don't have locations or hours of operations. There are so many issues. They should take note from other cruiselines and make significant upgrades. It really affects the cruising experience.

FIX! recently reported BUGS: "Excursions" section Feature reqs: 1)Provide a way to display desired activity level ONLY-refine is available but displays ALL levels. 2)Activity Levels not shown on the excursion summary. Bug: 1)"Read Reviews": - by accessing through (saved) favorites - the app hangs for a period before displaying the "Home" screen. Note reviews ARE accessible if tapping the excursion when NOT going through the "Favorites" list. 2)"Feedback submission error" rcvd when liking reviews

Garbage. The sales people on the phone tell you that it's free to communicate thru the app on the ship. It cost 10 dollars per device that want to communicate and it was the worst experience with an app in a long time. The app will fail to connect to server which makes I useless all the time. The only way you know if it's broke is if you try to make a call then there is a bunch of steps to fix it for about 5 minutes if that. The support on the boat was a joke. Could fix and no refund.

Hard to navigate, ui is poorly layed out. On one page there are full screen wide grids, then below, long columns of data that requires unnecessary scrolling. It seems like the app is deliberately layed out on order to confuse passengers so they have to call and get sold more Want to navigate to myncl? You'll need to remember your reservation number. Want to pre print your baggage ticket? You'll have to hand write your info on the ticket. Not good for a line often used by vulnerable elderly.

Really diminishes the cruise experience. Glitchy when trying to connect and use onboard. By design, doesn't work at all when in the ports, making it impossible to check your reservations and for onboard activities you may want to return in time for. Also had an occurrence where I logged off the internet, restarted my phone, but it still remained connected to the internet and used all the minutes I had! Please put some more work into this app.
