This is a replacement for ES File Explorer, and seems better at finding the LAN, for instance. I mostly use it for transferring photos from my Pixel2 to my linux computer, and it works beautifully for that. WITH ONE EXCEPTION -- the font use for the page listing (list, not folder-icon view) the photos is so huge that only three entries (7 max on other pages) can be seen at one time. Is there any way to change the size of the font? 5-Star if there is!

Trying other file management apps, and this one checks my boxes. It shows the items in list view or icons. It allows me to choose how they organize, by date or name. I can see the size & date of file download and it's all neatly arranged. It works smoothly with pdf readers. I choose apps that say they don't share my data with 3rd parties and that don't have noisy ad popups. So far I recommend to anyone who wants basic function that actually works. Thanks!

Hands down the best file manager on Android. The local file management by itself is exceptional, but then you add on the ability to easily connect to SMB and FTP shares! And if that wasn't enough, the option to quickly host an FTP server from the app itself makes copying files from the phone to another device incredibly easy. On top of that it's totally free and doesn't even have ads!!!! If I could rate this more than 5 stars, I absolutely would in a heartbeat!!!!

Just an all-around great file manager - intuitive user interface, stable, good balance of features. I've used it for years and have no plan to switch. FYI - I'm also a big fan of Ghost Commander, which has a traditional two-pane interface like Norton Commander for DOS or mc on *nix.. Now GC is a completely different style of interface, and can't be directly compared to CX, but if you are looking for that type of experience, give GC a look.

Opens, renames, moves, and deletes files in main storage and sd card. Works flawlessly and with easy operator interface for these functions. Surprisingly, I had to test over half a dozen worthless 'file manager' apps which would either not perform these basic functions or in one case required permission to monitor how I use my phone with open permissions on everything or would not work. Didn't even bother installing that one. After first use this appears to be a great program.

I needed an app to copy my phone's pictures to my home samba share. This does exactly that with intuitive navigation and many options. I especially appreciate the fact that I don't have to browse my phone's filesystem to find the photos. It has images, videos, downloads, and messenger as places I can copy from. I can browse the filesystem if I want as well. Overall, this app filled the exact niche function I needed.

something that's been driving me batshit crazy for awhile is when you're trying to choose a picture to view that's on the right side next to the scroll bar. it's almost impossible to do that without instead moving the scroll bar, inevitably half way down the folder. I end up having to choose the picture next to it and then slide to from the viewer. that's mildly irritating. but when you're trying to choose a pic to add to a text and it does that it really sucks. all else is fine though

This is literally the best file manager app for Android! The only things I would add to make perfect would be support for more file formats (for example- .rar,.7z........) So that other apps aren't required for basic file operations. Also, sometimes saved network connections will not open, resulting to deleting and reconnecting all over again. Other than that, this app is great!

This app does what a file explorer is supposed to do, which makes it far different than most such apps. Most Android file explorers don't provide accurate information. I think they are trying to guess what low IQ idiots want instead. This makes them deeply unsatisfactory if you aren't an idiot. But this app did one more sensible thing. It gave me the ability to compress a folder which is why I was searching the file system. Again, this is something that an adequate file explorer should do.

I have been using this for quite a few years now and have no issues with it at all. One feature I use a lot is to transfer larger files using the FTP feature. At one point I used the FTP feature to backup an entire phone since the USB didn't want to work. This app replaced ES File Explorer for me.

It just works. It has a full set of features, never seems to crash, and gives me full control of what I need in terms of file access for me. I use a large sd card to store music on my phone, and this program transfers literally terabytes of data from a Synology NAS to my phone monthly. This app helps me do it very easily.

Just started using it on Android 13 and it works but the layout is gonna take getting used to. And when I open a media file the dialog sequence to choose an app to play it takes too long. It should just ask which app to begin with rather than showing that play button first. But it's working better than fx for now and it's FREE so I'll adjust.

This is a useful and easy to use file manager. Here are some suggestions. First, it would be great if it could read the full information from mp3 tags. Next, the image viewer has a black background which is not modifiable. Gif files with black lines and text on a transparent background appear blank on a black background. It would be great to have an option to use either a white or light grey background. The search function NEEDS to scan subdiretcories.

Trying to find a manager that could simply give me a full video/audio control menu, because 7 other apps all removed NEXT/PREVIOUS buttons ONLY when I accessed my 2 TB USB-C Micro SD card. Effing annoying, just like my internal Micro SD reader constantly corrupting 75% of all my file transfers, especially over but 3 modest sized 730p video files; won't be missing that when I buy my S24 Ultra now! And now I even have working FTP! Just needs Dark Mode, in settings, not as a buggy old version!

It's a well thought out decent file managing app; good enough that I've continued to use it for the last 5 years through 3 separate phones. It works well as a go-around for the options sparse built-in apps. Only giving it 4/5 stars because it could use a few improvements like better navigability, directory copying, etc. Even though it is somewhat clunky, it's by far the best file manager I've found to date.

Extremely easy to find stuff, file display and thumbnail size can be adjusted on a folder by folder basis which is much appreciated. UI and explorer design are very easy on the eyes and not overwhelming for me. Can search for specific types of media (like audio, photos, apps, documents, etc) which also makes it a lot easier to navigate. I've searched far and wide for file explorers but always end up coming back to CX because it's just the best!

Request...I use to be able to access the Android/Data folder. Now I no longer can. As far as the app overall.. Nothing else come close. Still the best. Clear and sensible user interface. Towers over other file manager apps. Does what is needed and unlike other apps is organized well. Thanks for this app! Great work .. appreciate it!

Very snappy. Also the internal image viewer is good. It is the best among the few internal viewer I tried. It's doing something nontrivial when the image resolution is higher than the device resolution. Probably nothing fancy like tricubic, but it's better than the others on the market. I've seen so many similar apps just trivially sample the image and produce many artifacts.

I have found many of the file managers available to use on Android devices do not facilitate saving documents to the particular folder that you wish to. CX file explorer allows the user to quickly go to the folder that they wish to save the file to. CX also allows browsing through the folder directories with ease. This program allows one to easily find files as well as easily save files to the directory you wish to.

Surprisingly similar to another file manager that first released three years sooner and has 10× downloads — but unlike that other file manager, this has no ads, doesn't share data, and has other useful features such as a duplicate finder that successfully did what I needed it to do. (I came across this app by searching "find duplicate files" lol.) It's really efficient to actually manage files using this app, unlike Google's Files app. The biggest thing missing so far is dark mode.
