This app in earlier revisions allowed .e to adjust the A4 reference frequency. I can get in and tell it to change and as soon as I tap the check mark to accept my setting, it instantly reverts back to the default 440Hz frequency. I have never had premium and could change it before. Also the time it takes to load used to be fast, but since the guitar drawing was adding, it takes significantly longer. Time for a different tuning app. This one has been ruined.

This app used to be great, but now it's filled with obstructive pop-up ads. Some of the ads don't even have a way to close them, forcing you to restart the app until you get a new ad that you can close. This wastes a huge amount of time. Some of the ads are also malicious, telling you your phone has a virus or whatever and that you can click to remove it. Nice try. Five stars before, one now.

Used to be my favorite tuning app, but sadly the ads have become *so* intrusive, interrupty, and makes it slow to start. Takes 7-8 seconds for an ad to load before the tuner even starts up, then once it starts it then interrupts with upselling. (Guys, I'm at a gig and trying to tune.) If you can deal with the ads, it is an accurate and easy to use tuner. (I'm not anti-ad... happy to support an ad-full-version just please don't bone me at a gig with ads.)

Good tuner, for sure, fast, really good noise filtering, shows the complete name of note (A4 vs just A on others) but... really? full screen ads *with sound* (yes, ads with videos that include sound, imagine that just before or *during* a presentation!), followed by smaller ads, which are "ok". I do not normally mind ads all that much, if at all (sometimes I even click them), but this is a musician's tool, sound being played out of the blue is a no-no! *Sound* in the ads was the reason why I stopped using the first time (it actually started to sound just before a presentation when I was going to check tuning! and, of course, the rest of musicians noticed and gave me "the look" because I was, apparently, checking my social media or something on-stage!), I gave it a try again a few weeks ago and I thought: oh, it is fine now! but... wrong! ads with sound came back! So... uninstalling, again. Remove the sound from the ADs and.. promise not to add them again! otherwise I cannot use this app and give you ADs revenue (I cannot pay your subscription, I mean, I would've bought a tuner if I could just pay $30). I am back to a more basic tuner app, but that at least have reasonable ADs (ie: without sound!).

This app was misleading. After happily using this tuner for years, I noticed the ads were suddenly huge and disruptive. I thought since it's a good tuner that I've used a long time, i would pay for it. I thought the app cost $2, not $2 a month subscription. Google play needs to be more clear about this. There are plenty of free or cheap tuners, and I can't justify paying $24 a year for a tuner. Pano Tuner is a great alternative. I will uninstall this app for sure. $24 a year for a tuner? Insane.

I have LOVED this app. I'm a music teacher, and this is the app I always suggest to my students. Unfortunately, I opened it yesterday in class and it crashed. When I restarted it - there was a large, full screen ad. (I understand needing to have ads, no biggie) But once I got past the ad, there was another ad at the top of the page. That ad took up almost half of the screen. I guess I'll have to find a new tuning app. 😞

Used to be a useful and faulty accurate tuner. It's always had ads and I don't mind that in a free app until they interfere with the functionality of the app. It used to open directly to the tuner. Now, it opens to a home menu with the tuner as one option. Click any of the options and you're treated to an ad or two so, if you're in a hurry, too bad. What's worse if that the band adds are also still there. Wrist of all, it's no longer very accurate. Time to go back to my old school tuner.

As a music educator, I recommended this app to hundredS of students every year. Between the introduction of ads and lack of one time purchase price, I will now actively *discourage* hundredS of families every year from utilizing this app. I am extremely disappointed an ad-free version for a one time fee is unavailable. It was a wonderful program and would have been worth it.

Liked it, it was useful....before the recent update. Before, it didnt take long to recognize a sound, now it takes a very long time to load the actual screen, has ads, and overall I do not like the look that this app has now. Seems too disorganized and unrefined. However, I do appreciate the settings for changing the color, before they did not take affect.

very disappointed with this app nowadays. there are MASSIVE banner ads that take up half the screen, and can trick you into tapping them- i have to turn on airplane mode for this app to be usable. and i understand the need for microphone permissions, but what i don't understand is why you need access to my photos and media. this used to just be a tuning app, but now it's an advertisement app with a tuner as a side function.

The free version has so many prompts to the Pro and ads that makes it a pain to try. No way I would pay 15 bucks a month for this! For even less one can buy a far more accurate physical tuner and a classic metronome. The makers of this app have greatly overrated its value! There are other apps that to it better, simpler and completely free.

This was a phenomenal app. I gladly bought the pro version years ago, and would have gladly donated or something if asked. Instead after being the only tuner I ever needed for years, I update my phone and the pro version is gone; I'm not going to pay for it again, not because it's not worth it: it's because it was taken away. There's no option to restore the purchase. Otherwise, 10/5 wonderful app; it was, at least.

any reviews complaining about basic features being pay walled gets the dev response "We are happy to confirm premium includes all features, and the free version has fewer options". The devs are HAPPY to confirm you that you will be subjected to an ad every 30 seconds and tuning will respond slower unless you pay $10 a WEEK.. well I am happy to confirm that you can get a physical guitar tuner for a one time purchase of $10, or use one of the hundreds of better free apps that are available.

Very satisfied with the free version. Yes, there are some ads, but the developer of the app should be compensated for their work just like everyone else wants to get paid for what they do, so stop your whining about ads. However, I too think the paid Pro version price is a bit outrageous. If I was gigging and getting paid then maybe I could justify the cost, but for an unpaid player $780/year is nuts! The free version is more than adequate for my needs. Thanks DaTuner.

It's good but the ads just got to be too frequent. If you're willing to pay whatever their current price is for this functionality, I recommend it, but I would suggest you look elsewhere for a free version; I've just installed Chroma and am loving the experience so far. Also, apparently the developers of DaTuner make a pickup lines app?? That speaks poorly of them, imo.

Excellent metronome! I've yet to try the paid version, but in regards to the free version, overall, the whole app itself is very easy to learn and very straightforward to use. The tuner function works great, but to find such a simple, capable, easy-to-use metronome was a serendipitous find indeed. The cherry on top is that it's relatively lightweight, and has a fairly quick startup time, which was my whole reason behind trying it out instead of using my usual, marine-animal-based tuner app.

Update: now daTuner wants $13 a week. The basic version doesn't work at all. Trying something else. My viola teacher recommended this tuner. I use the paid version, which for the price is worth losing the ads. It has a chromatic tuner and a specific tuner for the viola. Both are very useful. I paid for a $10/year subscription, which was totally worth it. When I replaced my phone and installed it on my new phone, I was charged an additional $20.year. This makes no sense.

Functionally, this app works fine, and I've used it for years. Over time though, there's been a greater push to monetize every little thing here, which makes the app pretty miserable to use at times, with ads, notifications, prompts to pay, and so on. Why would anyone pay more than $10 a week for a tuner/metronome given the abundance of alternatives? They also make tuning slower/ less reactive on the free version, which seems pretty silly to paywall.

Start up is pretty slow, really I don't wish to see a guitar drawn three times. Hopefully the layer of ads before getting to the tuner goes away with a paid version. However, I don't want to pay a recurring subscription...but I cannot tell from the description if it's once or recurring. Also I tuned my instrument and a few minutes later during rehearsal a loud ad started. Developers deserve to get paid and I sure don't mind supporting them directly. Will update rating.

Functionality-wise, this is easily the best tuner app, and I have yet to find another one that compares. I like how this tells you what each string is at instead of other apps that make you pick a specific tuning to start with. However, the free version is almost unusuable and the premium price makes zero sense IMO. I would gladly pay a fairly substantial lifetime access price for premium, but not what is currently offered. Hopefully this helps all involved as the app is truly great.
