it works better for me than for some, apparently, but the "horizontal swipe bug" is such an issue that i'm leaving a 1* review for now. having the ability to swap horizontally between images in the same gallery seems like a pretty basic function for an app like this. there are responses from april saying the devs were working on it, but it's june now and i still cannot swipe between images. (i also miss the old checkbox-style of adding things to collections, both in the app and on the site.)

The DeviantArt app is just usable. It genuinely isn't thar great, but bettee than the mobile site. There is plenty of issues with it, though I will state some major ones: - The Log-In screen always pops up when you close the app, even when logged in. - You are unable to see the favorites of the people you watch in the "Watch" tab, which you used to be able to do. - You cannot edit submitted deviations. - It can be very slow. I am only using this thanks to me moving.

Nothing shows up right ( Comments, journals, posts, status updates don't show pictures, so on ) It is too confusing to use. The black background looks too overwelming, I wish they had different color or theme options for the app, that would make it so much better by default. If they fixed a lot of problems and bugs I wouldn't mind this app but the state it is in i can't use it without my eyes hurting.

This app hasn't seen an update in almost 3 YEARS and it shows. Have a problem with another deviant and had to block them? Guess what! The blocking system doesn't work on the app, so if you blocked someone, they can just open the app and stalk your page with full access. Great for them, but not for you. This app desperately needs fixing ASAP Edited 5/9/20: recent update fixed the logging in issue, but you can still see blocked person's pages and vice versa. Full access on the app. Not safe.

Bug fixing, while nice, doesn't remove underlying design problems. Removal of collections makes scrolling unpleasant since individual works take up most of the screen, and makes finding works of a particular genre or focus nigh impossible, especially since More From This Artist and More Like This are usually nearly the same. Image downloads still don't include the file extension, so the user has to individually add file extensions. Again, just use your phone's web browser or your computer.

Most features are the same as the desktop version. It's better in the fact you can change folders your favorite art is in, without removing and re-adding the favorite. That's the only positive. For the most part, it's very buggy, glitchy, and is missing core features (No emojis) (you can't view or post Polls, which would be perfect for mobile.) (As a creator, you watchers in notifications is a different number than on your page.) There are other things I can't think of, and I'm out of space.

Can't ever stay logged in. Even a slight loss of signal kicks me off (I live quite far from a cell tower, so any time I leave the house), and "Stay logged in" is basically broken as well. Favorites get doubled because tapping the star automatically puts to the Favorites folder instead of being solely a drop-down for your folders. And for some reason all the text in text entries has turned a salmon pink that's hard to read against the background color, despite latest fix.

Well as a DeviantArt member for the last 5 years or so ive tried to switch from the browser version to this app and it's not bad I can see the app is still slowly building to become closer to the browser version! I'm able to do just about all the things here that I can on the internet! Only issue I have a lot with it is incredibly slow or just no loading a page at all even with clear service! A little annoying but not app busting! It's potentially an issue that should be looked into

This seems like a decent app, but searching has an unfortunate bug if you're logged in. It appears when you search it tries to pull up "recommended" posts, if you search a broad category you might get a few results, and you can select sort by newest or popular and you'll see a lot more results. But if you search something specific, and there are no recommendations, it says "no results" and doesn't let you switch to newest or popular to actually see results.

This app has been amazing for some time but the chat is buggy and freezes. And now when u use the app for a little bit it starts to say "the servers reported a problem and we are unable to display your results." I had this app for a while and this is my first time rating it. I should of done this long ago because of how bad that chat system is. I would message people try to type up something when it freezes your phone. Only way to fix it is to try to close the app and close it in the backgrounds

Great app... when it works. 2 major complaints. - Cannot edit your own comments. Would be a godsend feature. Please consider adding that. - For the past 3 days, app has somehow caused "CloudFront" to constantly force me into "403 error" HTTP zones. Swapping networks fixes problem for a few minutes, but then that network gets blocked with 403 errors. Something isn't working right. Developers and security team needs to look into this!

Essentially the bare minimum for an app representing a massive site like Deviantart. Many features available on DA's website are unsupported within the app. Polls are nonexistent, along with badges and access to communities. The chat function also barely works, with it either taking ages to load or refusing to load entirely. Certain bugs, such as galleries jumping back to previous images when scrolling through them, make it incredibly frustrating to use as well. Very dissapointing overall.

App stops working a few minutes after you start using it. The say they can't reach the "mothership" as though there's something wrong with my WiFi. I check the WiFi and it's working well. I use the WiFi with browsers and other apps-no problem. I go back to Deviant art and the app still says that the WiFi isn't working. This has happened 4 days in a row.

Always room for improvment! So far the mobile experience is smooth and fairly easy. On a second thought, going directly to albums on my android phone would be nice. Currently have to navigate several menus to find the right album. Also! Will we ever have the ability to add mutliple photos to a Deviation post, like a slide show? I think this broadens capability and type of art shared. Deviant already has a fairly simple shop-like system available (hint), unlike Instagram which has many artist.

It is currently impossible to login with FireFox selected as the default browser. [I'm able to enter my username, but the following password page is entirely inoperable.] This is a serious problem if it's widespread. Please look into this, I do not know which app is responsible. Aside from that issue, the app is very enjoyable. I'm mostly happy with the experience it provides!

The app let's you see a lot of the stuff you can see on the website, but it's lacking a lot. Loading times are much slower on the app, the chat function is bugged; it either takes forever to load, or the whole app freezes when you type stuff, GIFs don't animate at all, no option to suppress AI posts on mobile, there needs to be more maintenance to make it much smoother to operate.

Overall a very good app. It is great for getting your art recognized and being inspired by other artists. The only bad thing for me is that I have to completely close out of the app for it to refresh my stuff. Like it will say I have notifications, I look at the notifications, then it still says I have notifications until I close the app and go back into it.

Almost everyone likes great artwork. It's just that everyone's tastes vary so much. DeviantArt has all categories. Can always find something beautiful to look at. Besides for just the basic scroll and tap to look, the app navigation and features aren't very clear and I have a rough time organizing things and navigating to certain sections.....it might just be because there is so much available in every category. Wish there was a decent tutorial or aomething.

The app frequently crashes on my Samsung S23 Ultra when I attempt to share an image from another application. As a result, I am forced to download the image to my phone and then upload it using the app itself. Additionally, my images occasionally disappear from the galleries to which I have assigned them. Overall, the app functions, but it does have some bugs.

Two major problems: #1 - PLEASE let us be able to paste hashtags/tags. Uploading 5 images and having to retype the same 30 tags 5 times is extremely annoying. #2 - If you scroll through 10 or so images, the app bugs out and kicks you back to the first image you clicked on. This bug has been present for at least half a year. Otherwise it's an amazing app to share and view art.
