I dropped a quarter on the ground. I stood before it and took my compass location reading. I then beg as m my journey thru the thick forest scouting got white tail deer. After walking 3 miles deep into the forest it was getting late evening so I decided it was time to head back to that quarter! I used no markers so I'm totally relying on this compass. I turned the compass to the exact location of the quarter & started walking. It worked great! It brought me back to exact location of that quarter

180 degrees off. Doesn't seem to have a hemisphere setting but correctly identifies the user's location on a map. Useful if it weren't wildly inaccurate compared to a good magnetic compass and the direction of the sunrise

Played with the app a bit and it finally found North. It seems it's synchronizing takes some time, so if yours isn't showing the right directions, give it 5 - 10 minutes and see if it fixes itself.

Always Not accurate. I am not using any magnetic cover and I tried 8 figure motion too. It misplaces the true direction but then suddenly comes to work just fine. Then again it starts giving inaccurate direction.

Very good compass. Big and takes up screen size. It would be good to have the sampling rate of the measured magnetic field strength shown on screen and to have the option to adjust it accordingly. Otherwise excellent app.

I never knew that the poles keep changing with turning the mobile, even when there was nothing near the mobile on the wooden table. The poles on the application changed at the same place just by moving the mobile. Was able to turn NORTH POLE 180° by just moving the mobile on the same location. For the records, I am using a OnePlus mobile device to check the poles.

This is a simple, straight forward compass app. It is accurate without needless GPS & map features (that you can get free with Google maps). They don't try to get you to pay for an annual subscription (for no extra value) everytime you open the app. They offer an add free version, period.

This app looks great but unfortunately it is completely useless. When I face in the direction I know to be North the compass reads West so it is a full 90 degrees off. And there is no way to adjust it. Junk. Glad I didn't have to pay anything for it. Uninstall. After consultation with the manufacturer and following their adjustment procedures this app does appear to be much more accurate. Hope it continues to perform as well as it is today. I have adjusted my rating accordingly.

Compasses are nice when they are nice looking and point in the right direction. One out of two isn't enough. Like most compass apps I have used this one either points 180 degrees off or not at all. And no obvious way to recalibrate it. The developer suggest figure 8 calibration which I had done. No magnets nearby. Just a plastic protector case on the phone.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD! This app will display ad alerts in the top menu of your Android phone. Two that I had were for a family phone tracker and the other was for a barcode scanner. The icon on the top menu made it look like Google Store was the source of the ad alerts. After searching the internet, I found other people with the same problem. Once I deleted this app, the ads stopped. This method of forcing ads on your phone is deceptive and should be illegal.

A simple and accurate compass -- the best compass I have found -- and is TERRIFIC to use. Axiomatic did a " GREAT JOB " with this compass......It is stylish and professional. It would be much better if you could choose between magnetic north.......and map / grid north ( I'm EX Military -- I prefer Map / Grid north ) ; without changing the settings on your phone....and going through hastles, of turning your location on ; adjusting this and that on my phone.......ect, etc.

Compared the app to a basic lensatic compass and was fairly accurate. Noticed about a 10 degree difference in location but TBH I'm not sure if that speaks for the app or the quality of the compass itself. 10 degree difference isn't much over a short range, but a professional, or someone doing long range land nav is going to be using something else as a primary. Great for basic or backup land nav.

As one who spends over half his time in the woods, I can truthfully say that this is the best compass app I have ever used. In addition to the many useful ancillary features, I especially like the magnetic/true toggle. That location access and magnetic declination feature is great. The person who designed this really knows the technology and how it's used in the field.

It's a compass. It works well enough for being a free compass app. Things get really wonky when you try to use GPS and which way you are facing. Your phone also needs to be level or thereabouts. If you are upside-down or sideways, the compass loses track of where you are facing by either 180 to 360 degrees. Small gripe though. Biggest gripe. Is the direction you're facing on GPS, doesn't work accurately enough

Once you level the bubble your good to go. But I have noticed if you lay the phone down on a flat surface the compass never really comes to a full stop. It seems to go back and forth by 1 degree. Not really a deal breaker. Just needs a little fine tuning from the developer. Still 5 stars. Just again made another donation. Update. Developer fixed issue. Back to 100%

In my opinion, I've tried a few compass apps like this one, but I seem to like this app the better due to its simplicity & its app size doesn't take up much space. It's very accurate. I do have Google Maps/Google Earth Live with enhanced features of maps, so an individual app like this one, I usually use when I go hunting in the woods, or off the beaten paths camping.

WOW! I opened this app & TA-DA the compass was on the screen working! I didn't have do anything. I don't remember the last time I installed an app & wasn't forced to watch a ad, sign-up, log-in, setup, ECT.. It was surprising how well it works too. It jumps and wobbles like holding a real compass 🧭. It's great & I highly recommend it!

Don't know what the perfect app should contain so it's hard to rate. A geo-engineer needs to do this rating and put it into words that most lay persons would understand. I only use this about twice a year as I like to know where I am better than dead reckoning, which sometimes could put you off the highway surrounded by God's good air to whistle you to the bottom. I'm starting to blabber and not to purpose. Thanks for improving your app. Appreciated it.

If you've ever been to Valencia, Spain, you know the narrow streets are difficult to manage. It's like being in a maze and the street names change from one block to another. I'm here for a month during the Las Fallas festival. The first week, I got lost everyday and had to continuously ask people for help, even with a map. But once I started using this compass, the whole city changed for me. I still use Google map to get to my destination, but I don't need anything but the compass to return

It has no intrusive commercials, it has a privacy policy that assures the data is not shared with third parties, and the app does exactly what it claims to do, and does it well. That's all I need... The app is not quite 5 stars because it has a tiny ad, so it's a product rather than a donation (yes, I do base ratings on how selfless an app is. *Truly* free software is always clean, top quality, and has no reason to ever get worse), but other than the tiny ad, it's perfect.
