UPDATE! THEY'VE CHANGED THE APP, WHICH I DON'T MIND IF IT'S POSITIVE, BUT NOW THEY MADE THE FAST/REVERSE BUTTONS SO SMALL YOU CAN'T EVEN SELECT THEM WITHOUT SCREWING UP,,, PLUS I NEVER SEE ALL OF MY VIDEOS IN MY DVR LIST. USE TO, BUT NOT ANY MORE!!! PLEASE FIX!! I love having the ability to watch my Dish TV and recordings anywhere with my Samsung phone and pad! Seems to be a few bumps with my Samsung pad and not picking up the receiver but hopefully that's fixed now!

It's a pain in the butt. They changed it in the last week and now trying to use this app is torture. It used to be really simple I don't know whose bright idea it was change the whole damn thing. It used to be that I could be 10 minutes into recording a show and I could still bring it up on my dish app and start watching it just like I could using the DVR feature on my TV. Now not only can I not see it when only a little of it has recorded it might not show up for 2 days. Too many bugs to list.

Usually use this app in the summer on vac my ipad stopped working so I got a new tablet to use with this app. It is terrible, no pause, it stops on its own, it plays I think current and past at the same time so garbled voices. I can't figure out how to get live because when i click on it, it starts where it stopped(who knows why it stopped). gonna try my sister's optimum it that works Im switching this is insane. It should be NO stars.

Could be a great app. The guide is excellent, the search is great but the player is unreliable, locks up and loses your place. The problem with this is that the first thing you see when you start watching is 4 to 5 ads. Every time. So you wait for the ads to play, then you slide the player ahead to try to find the correct position and wait for 4 to 5 ads to play to see if you're in the right position. I understand there will be ads but this is a paid service, could it be more user friendly?

This app crashes or freezes in the middle of DVR shows all of the time. Internet is s fine, I have a newer phone, and the app is up to date. My dish receiver tries to force me to upgrade my channels everytime my box comes on....nothing but problems.....won't be a customer for very long. The good news is 5 stars for the tech that has been to the house a few times :-)

Constantly saying it needs to have a license update & to connect to the internet. Haven't been able to watch ANYTHING. When I'm at home & connected to the internet, it says the same thing about the license update & to connect to the internet. WHEN I AM CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET! I don't know what has been done to this app, but it's TERRIBLE! I used to have no problems, this is just RIDICULOUS! VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS APP!!!!!!!

This app has not been working right. Its gotten worse in past few months. Started by not showing the channels properly by channel number in order starting with 1 and just wants to show channels in random order. Now it wont show all the channels when I select show all channels. Just a select few. Theres no option to order the channels the way you want by random or in order, descending or ascending. I need the channels in order so I can find what I need. Please fix this ASAP!

This has to be the worst streaming app in the world. All my DVRs are useless since the video and sound quality playback like it was recorded on an early 2000s flip phone. Are you prepared for never ending frustration on top of it? The app constantly freezes, jumps randomly, and the rewind often turns into fast forward. What a joke. Save your time, money, and frustration and just get Xfinity.

I'm only giving 2stars because I still use it, but this app is horrible. If I try to change the station between 2-7pm, it won't play any station and gives an error message...content unavailable, or something like that! And the whole station options have been having video play error msgs too. And why do the live stations provide only so many stations??

When I first downloaded this App, it worked great. Now I cannot change seasons on the DVR so if I have episodes recorded from different seasons, I'm not able to change the season. It's so annoying. It won't allow me to record things like it used to either. Such a pain when we pay so much for Dish service!!!! This app sucks. It's making me rethink having Dish and maybe going back to DirecTV or cutting the cables all together.

This app could not be more glitchy. God forbid you try to watch anything live. Even with the world's fastest internet, it still buffers. The app will skip forward 30-60 seconds at a time, leaving you totally confused on what's happening. I haven't been able to watch a single recorded football game because the Dish would rather show me Prime Time stuff that we have zero interest in, rather than the content we've chosen to record. Then if it does record, it's under a different folder every time.

This app took a severe step back in overall usability in the latest 'downgrade'. Playback, controls (tiny fingers required), and other UI/UX failings now plague what was a decent video tool. I have DVR items (news) that recorded today, that won't show up in this app until tomorrow - that's not helpful and didn't happen before (cache clearing, etc do not solve this). The previous version had flaws. But none so glaring and painful as this monstrosity. Learn from this failing and revert back.

It seems to do most of what it says it's supposed to do. However, when attempting to transfer content to my tablet, it seems to get caught up in a Loop of setting up for transfer. After waiting 30 minutes for a 30-minute sitcom to transfer, I gave up. Doesn't show everything recorded, so I can't watch my recorded news.

Please bring back the old version of the video player. This one is horrible! It freezes all the time and I have to completely close out of the app and restart it. The rewind and forward buttons are so tiny it makes it impossible to use them. Did anyone even test this app before changing it from the old one? This is the worst app for watching television shows that I have ever used!

The new TV remote looks awful, and I can't even turn my TV on with it like I could with the old one. The only real update is that the guide looks better now. Other than that? Should've kept it how it was. Update: the remote doesn't work at all. The most it'll do is turn on the receiver after repeatedly pressing the power button.

Since the most recent update, this app is almost useless. When trying to go into my DVR, it won't show all my new recordings. It also has old recordings showing up that I've deleted from the hopper itself. When trying to watch anything, it buffers forever even when I have a strong wifi connection. When watching something, it will close down for no apparent reason. I'd really love to have a full functional app, please.

Worst company ever. Been a customer for 3 years and I've had nothing but problems with their equipment. Their equipment is constantly rebooting losing signal can't find the hopper. I don't suggest you lock yourself into a contract because they will not let you out of it and I refuse to pay to send their equipment back when their equipment is what is failing. It is definitely not user error it is definitely dishes equipment that does not work super frustrated I'm very unsatisfied customer

3-20-24 Nothing changed. WORSE than ever!!! This update removed transfer options and all of my transfers are gone. No more offline options. What a waste. No wonder Dish stock is plummeting them towards bankruptcy. Can't use it offline and transfers buried. No wonder they are going under. This app constantly has connection issues. Transfers don't work, or it randomly blocks you from watching dvr'd movies. Or it will work at home, then when travelling you get random device not authorized messages.

I'm jealous of those who complain about casting or freezing. When I log in I get a blank white screen. I contacted customer service and they told me it was because my receiver wasn't compatible. I tried to point out that the app is supposed to give me access to on-demand if the receiver isn't compatible, but they insisted that I'd need a new receiver for the app to function. This is a junk app from a junk company that advertises plan upgrades when you seek technical support. Update: Works now...

9/2024: (Google tv) Streaming is now unusable. It takes forever to start, then it drops out constantly and terrible quality. 3/2024: (Google TV) After something has been playing for a while it get stuck playing in the background even if you hit home or back. Have to force stop the app. 12/2022: Casting breaks on every commercial and program switch. Have to disconnect casting, reconnect, restart channel.
