Good, but for some reason two updates ago Bethesda slowed down the left / right turn control by around 50%, making the game unnecessarily harder and more frustrating to play. Hopefully they'll fix this problem soon!

THEY FIXED IT!!! it no longer forces you to play upsidedown, THANK YOU!!!! For some reason when you updated, it forced you to play upside down. I use a Backbone/kishi type controller for a ROG Phone and this essentially rendered both the 1st game as well as this one, unplayable.

There needs too be a toggle run option. Maybe by the action button somewhere. The game makes you run when you push the stick all the way forward. Making you sprint when you don't want to. It would also be nice to have more control options in the settings. Like button opacity for example. Very bare bones

Getting the sensitivity bar to detect my finger so I could max it out was more difficult and frustrating than the game itself. I'd rate it 5 stars but I knocked it down to 3. I'll change that to 5 once it's actually easy to adjust those sliders.

Controls are HORRID. Being required to aim and shoot with the same stick makes the game almost impossible to play as your aim flinches with each shot. Controls should be modeled after the existing IOS Doom release, which was much better. Controls make the game basically unplayable for me, which is a shame because this is probably my favorite game ever.

Play through the standard game before accessing the master levels. Otherwise the game will get confused and send you to the master level menu after finishing a level in the standard game. I had to reload and start over due to this. The controls are a little wonky on these ports, and generate enough issues to force me onto the easier settings. Apart from these points I'm enjoying this version. I also like how completely bonkers some of the master levels are.

Doom 2 is a great game. fast paced, action packed, everything a shooter is supposed to be. but this port is horrendous. These controls are awful, I cannot move while aiming orr else the touchpad jumps to the position of my thumb and I stop in my tracks. total lack of even slight aim assist makes this game impossible to play on phones. you need to make the controls more customizable man. all this game needs is a joystick that doesn't jump whenever you aim, and a very slight aim assist. fix it.

It's Doom 2! Controls are quite good for the format. Strafing is especially intuitive. This was already good, but recent updates really fixed it up! Wolfenstein levels are back! Crosses on medpacks are back (although green) and Final Freakin' Doom is back! I was wondering when they would sell it, but instead it's a free add-in compatible available with both Dooms! So there you have it. Great job, Bethesda and Id. You've made this long-time Doomer very happy. It also has No Rest For The Living!

This new update fixed some issues and introduced a handful more issues that the new issues outweigh the ones that were fixed. Some of the new issues are the game constantly crashing, the game will only rotate the screen a certain direction, the weapon will still barley works, and handful of other issues that make the game very difficult to enjoy.

It's Doom, so it's still fun and amazing. Except there are no options to change anything in the game except movement speed and Always Run. The controls are terrible and the input lag feels something like 200ms. The controls are setup in "fields" where the left side is movement, the middle is action, and the right is move/shoot. Needs aiming joystick and separate button for shooting. Tap is AWFUL. Swiping to aim has inertia so it feels jittery and messes up aiming a LOT. Makes it no fun and hard.

the game runs fine, it's doom, have loved doom my entire life at this point. did 3 stars because the game locks itself upside down and refuses to rotate with my phone. this doesn't seem like a problem at first glance however it does make it impossible to use multiple different controllers. like the backbone or razer kishi, because these controllers physically attach TO the phone a certain way, and when they are attached like this, the game is stuck upside down

I absolutely love Doom 2, but this port just didn't cut it for me. My main issue is the controls. I understand that touch controls can be hit or miss, but the simple act of firing my pistol should not require pinpoint tapping, lest my thumb slip just a little to the left and send my aim to the moon. I can only imagine trying to beat any map after Dead Simple like this. I'd rate the game 1 star, but Doom 2 is an amazing game, so I feel that at least warrants the extra star.

I love playing Doom and Doom 2 ever since I was a kid. Love playing on both PC and gaming consoles. I was really excited to play on mobile. While everything is the same, I was really disappointed with the controll mechanism. It makes the aiming really difficult to use; especially while facing the Icon of Sin. It took a while to finally defeat it, but at a cost of using God Mode. Please update the control mechanism on the mobile platform by have other options (i.e. D-pad with XYAB buttons).

This port of Doom 2 definitely captures the fast paced action you'd come to expect from the series. Works with Bluetooth controllers (like DS4). No multiplayer. Touch controls are manageable, working most of the time but not 100%. This being my first time playing through Doom 2's later stages, I don't feel like it was handicapped experience. What it lacks in customization, it makes up for in challenging action that keeps you hugging corners and dodging close encounters. Wolfenstein map censored.

I see some people complaining about the layout for playing with with your fingers, but I figured out you can play with controller. I have an XboxOne controller, so idk about PlayStation, but using the controller is way better, the buttons are the same as if you were playing Doom on a console. If you're using controller, you just do the Bluetooth pairing on your phone, you don't need a third party app to connect to Doom. Playing with controller is definitely better.

Thank you so much Nerve and Bethesda for following through with new content and fixes that add much value to the game. However, problems with input delay on touch and controllers, and absolutely no options to change look acceleration turn an otherwise incredible port into a very frustrating one. edit: Acceleration disabled!! Much appreciated.

There is definitely a learning curve the controls to this port. I've used a couple of the source code based versions of Doom on Android and while they are much richer in features the game moves much too fast to use only touch controls. It took a couple levels and restarts to understand how they were trying to tackle the issue of strafing, turning, and firing. The answer is holding down to autofire. It takes getting used to but works out once it "clicks" for you.

I gotta say. You fixed everything. I heard the game was playable on Chromebook so I thought something changed. And it did. Sprinting no longer feels like trying to walk a drunk man. There's no little turn after taking your finger off the screen. And my favorite part, being able to load my saved game. The new interface is new. The old one was fine but the new one lacks that certain aesthetic. Overall very cool. Thanks Bethesda.

The game seems to run perfectly fine, and seems pretty stable. However, the game locks the screen in what is effectively an upside down orientation, and the touch controls seem to be placed a little too high on the screen, along with a pretty useless second "shoot" button. From what I've heard, the same seems to apply to the Doom 1 port.

The Controls are a little sticky. When you try to move up their is this really slow momentum that starts the run and makes it hard to do alot of things in the game. I don't remember Doom (The first one) on android having this problem... if i remember i actually made it pretty far in the game. this one is borderline unplayable. I will have to play it on pc (as it has been a while) to make sure the controls arent actually like that but still makes the game hard to play it being touch and all.
