Enable location all the time? Why on Earth would you need to know my whereabouts 24/7? Seems to me that you could view my driving habits just as easily with having them set to "while using app" so I can log my own trips and my privacy remains in tact. And no, I don't care that you say you don't use that information because if you didn't, you wouldn't need it. Rethink this simple setting for your customers privacy sake.

This has not been picking up my trips since March. My battery is set at off never turn on automatically. I have a full charge any time I go out. All permissions are granted. I was told to uninstall shut off the phone,and turn it on after I did that, reinstall, reboot the phone. My phone and app are fully updated. After the last reinstall the app is worse. I don't even get the little icon in my top left corner that says, when you click it, drive sense standing by. No help from cs at all.

yea the app doesn't really work all the time. out of nowhere it'll stop tracking. I'll have to uninstall and reinstall, but it erases previously recorded trips. Even though i have no hard brakes, speeding or other trwffic violations recorded with the app my score is only "very good" and continues to drop. the app told me to improve my score i should drive during less busy times... like really? I'm going to call amd see if the discount is really worth the headache..

It only drains your battery if you leave it on 24/7. I only turn it on when I'm actually driving. It works for me, AM driving is low risk, and PM driving is not, from what I've noticed. I read all the stuff about what it's looking at, it's very helpful. Good savings!!! It makes me more aware of my habits. When I see I did something risky, I pay more attention to it next time. I like that!

app suck. only tracks when I turn it on. but still doesn't save the trip been driving everyday. have turned the app on every trip and still says I have no trips for the week. kills Battery fast and my phone is brand new. have checked all the bs settings they say to and everything is correct. yet ins went way up because lack of app use .freaking bs. and if you call then they tell u to bad

Needs Work! It's nice that you don't have to do anything to put the information in for tracking purposes. Putting the phone in your seat or cupholder isn't a good idea, as any jerk or bump can throw things off. The pros end there. The app DRAINS your battery and slows other apps. EVEN IN STANDBY MODE! I've left the house or work on 50% and in 30 minutes been down to 19%; it's quite ridiculous especially if you need GPS. Even when you're not driving it makes using your phone a risky move.

This app is supposed to quietly run in the background at all times to log and provide driving information; what it actually does is run quietly in the background to eat up your battery. I constantly have a notification from this app, saying that it it is running (and eating about 5% of my battery an hour), but in the two months I've had it, it hasn't logged even a third of my trips. In my experience it will only log trips if you are actively using your phone, or manually open the app beforehand.

I think it's a useful app. It really helps keep track of your driving habits, it gives you great benefits on how well you drive. My only reason I give it a four instead of five is because it is constantly running, and it drains my battery fast. if it activated during a specific speed, I think that would solve the problem.

Got a 10% discount at renewal. It's worth it to me. App occasionally closes suddenly, but no major problems. Kinda sucks the criteria for earning the discount is national; meaning my city rolls up the streets at 9p yet DriveSense says it's a riskier time to drive. Also, everyone for 30 miles comes to the city on the weekends to shop and traffic is normally bumper to bumper, but Drivesense says it's the safest time to drive. Regardless...the app works as designed.

GET ROOT INSTEAD. WAY CHEAPER UF YOU HAVE HIGH INSURANCE It's just okay. I like that they gave me a discount just for signing up. However it's a bit creepy and annoying that it saves thumbnails from my trips and it clogs up my storage and gallery. It does drain the battery and the only way to avoid it draining your battery as to open the app before your trip and force stop it when you arrive. I have not had a problem deleting trips when I wasn't driving like others have.

If I could give it a negative I would! There's nothing good about it. It doesn't record every trip. Trips disappear. Doesn't count weekends. Rate goes down even w/ perfect trips. Dings you for doing the speed limit, they see it high risk even though it's the legal speed limit. Its highly intrusive spyware. It is perpetual. Kills your battery. Records even if you are not driving. Customer service sucks. The aggravation isn't worth it. I had 1 ticket (at 16) in my 46 yrs driving/doesn't count.

The app was good, I just don't like anybody being able to track where and when I go somewhere. The savings is not enough for big brother to know when I leave my house, where I went, the route I took to get there, and how long I stayed there. Would be a really good app, if it only monitored how you drive, yes I know Google Maps does the same thing when you use it. However, Google Maps can be turned off, this app CAN NOT be turned off.

I would rate this zero stars if I could. More glitches than anything. Continuously have to uninstall and reinstall. It is a real nuisance. Now it just shows my trips as still calculating. If I make 3 trips in one day, only one will show completed, and the others will be calculating for days. This makes it impossible to remove a trip if I am a passenger in someone else's vehicle. This better be saving me lots of money because it is aggravating as anything!

I've been having the same issue since September 2023. It's never been resolved. I call in frequently to no avail. It leaves all my trips in the status of Trip Calculating, or doesn't record them at all. What use is the app if it doesn't function as it should? I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, done all troubleshooting suggested, and nothing has changed. What a waste of time! My phone is a Samsung S23 Ultra. So frustrated!

This app has increasingly gotten worse over the years and I'm certain is no longer compatible with current OS's. I have roughly 40 'trips calculating' and maybe 8 actual logged trips after deleting and starting from scratch multiple times. Calling in my issue did not help either. The app simply does not work and needs a serious update.

I love esurance but this app is garbage. trip calculating? no it isnt... and then I used to have great driving and all of the sudden it goes to fair with an 8% discount because it doesn't track right AND I can't fix the trips where they are inaccurate OR I'm not even driving. On top of that 80 is speeding. I sometimes drove on roads 75mph speed limit and sometimes hit 80 for passing and such.. I don't think it fair if I could essentially go 60 in a 45 but can't do 80 in a 75. fix it!

The app stopped calculating my trips, so, I couldn't even change my status as a passenger when the driver was speeding - it sure updated and dinged me for it in my esurance app though. A trouble ticket was submitted and never resolved. My drivesense app has not completed my commutes since January. I uninstalled the app, the downloaded it again, hoping it'd solve the issue, but NOPE. I don't know what happened in January, but something caused it to stop working for me properly. Very frustrating.

Works when it wants to. Doesn't when it doesn't. Goes off even when I'm just walking at work. Doesn't come on when driving at times. Have to manually open app but then sometimes it still don't work. Bit then your punished as well cause of weak cell signals. Doesn't understand why your braking hard cause some fool crossed right in front of you. Insurance rate climbs every year regardless

The app barely works. It will record my trips, but never tell me the outcome. But my score is 333. It went from really good to fair, just bc I switched phones. And still doesn't work properly. I'll get notifications saying to check my trip. Go to check it and it's "calculating". ALWAYS CALCULATING!!!! I only use this app bc I don't have a choice. This app is straight garbage!

I've had Esurance since 2019 including DriveSense. It was great at first but for well over a year now it's just constant glitches, trips not tracking, inaccurate trips recorded when it does work and then last week the app kept turning itself back on when my daughter turned it off because she wasn't driving. Friday it did the same to me. We've both uninstalled, if it doesn't work there's no point in having it! Fix the app ffs.
