I've been using this app since it launched years ago and I was still a college student! The bar code has always been hit or miss but typing it manually takes a fee seconds extra so it doesn't bother me one bit. I love earning the rewards, since I feel like I'm always eating Pollo Loco (my favorite "fast food") ordering pick-up saves me so much time when I'm at work and it's a simple process. I just wish the birthday reward would go back to what it was 2+ years ago 😅😅

Unable to accept my credit cards to place a mobile order. I even reattempted this app on a different phone (both Androids). At the order confirmation page, the app kept saying incorrect billing address or ZIP code. I've check many times, I'm pretty sure I'm inputting the correct info. And my credit cards certainly aren't expired. Is something wrong with the app?

Not intuitive at all, shockingly poor app, can't understand how it has 4.7 stars, seems fishy to me. Painful and overly complicated to navigate, freezes and becomes unresponsive. Impossible to redeem coupons without deep diving multiple menus, waiting for redemption code email, then being told in the app that the code is invalid. Constantly have to delete orders and re-enter codes, numerous attempts. Buggy, glitchy, uninstalled. Too bad, I like the food but not worth the hassle.

Out of all the food apps, this is definitely one of the worst designed. The UI is outdated, navigation is horriffic, and the reward system functionality is terrible. It consistently forces the user to lose reward points. Even the window people have to make excuses on why it isn't working right as they themselves do not understand how it should work. And if you ever get logged out of it and try to log back in, it'll force you to the terms page on the browser and you cannot get back in.

I wish you can give zero ratings. The layout is strange, not scalable on all phone screen sizes, no true definition between store selection and menu selection, so while you're scrolling through the menu items you inevitably end up hitting the store selection again and again... Absolutely no search feature, you better know what you want and exactly where it is. Also not all items on the menu are on the app so if the store in your area carries low volume item, your out of luck.

I've got issues with the app since the major revision. Primarily, the loss of the capability to scan a receipt for points leads to me losing a lot of points. Either the worker is busy and doesn't have time to scan my phone, or the stores scanner is flakey, or I paid first and they tell me I have to scan the phone before paying, blah blah blah. Plus, I tried to input a coupon code into the app today and it wouldn't take it... But it worked fine when I handed it to the worker.

Upgrade totally ruined this app....worked fine before upgrade. And lost my points with upgrade. Lost password when program was updated, and for months couldn't connect to reset. Now that I've finally got my password to work, says there's no network every time I try to put in a receipt. I have high bandwidth internet and a new phone...so pretty sure those aren't why it's not connecting to the network.

It is somewhat easy to do a regular order, yet confusing when trying to use the coupons or other promotions. It's not easy to find the scan for points. Also not enough options inside the menu like the option to have no ice. Can you allow people to use the rewards dollars they earned to pay for a promotional meal. Would like to also have pickup at drive through option, especially when the done in part is closed.

The app is just okay. I usually have to manually enter my barcode rather than scan it like the app gives the option. The service at the Vacaville, CA location is TERRIBLE! They never get my order correct and don't seem to care when I politely express it. The app asks if you'd like someone to reach out to you and on more than one occasion, I've requested this but never heard back from anyone. Disappointing.

The old app was way better and easy to use. The new update doesn't allow you to scan the receipt for points anymore. I didn't realize that till later I tried to scan my receipt and cannot find the barcode. The staff didn't remind me showing my account barcode, either. My points were gone. Also no more free coupons, you have to use points for coupons, bad change.

It's an okay app. Could "improve." They changed it so that it's not possible to choose a point reward and a coupon at the same time!!! That's annoying and will definitely get me to come here less often. I think the "point rewards" should be treated differently than "coupons." Oh, and they raised the price of the tostada and the nachos 👎👎👎... I'm really disappointed. I was a "fan" and trusted El Pollo loco to be there for me for food.

The app is great, almost no problems. Except none of the current coupons ever load in on the offers tab where it would show you coupons. There also isn't a way to scan coupons in to your app either. Nobody likes to walk in the store with a coupon and wait, especially during quarantine. This is the only gripe i have with it. The rest is fantastic. Excellent menu lists, easy to check out, customization options are all there.

Just tried using app with latest update, and it doesn't work. The points rolled over, but I can't use banked rewards or even the $5 off coupon on a regularly-priced item. The rewards tab to add a free item doesn't show anything. A while ago it showed what I could order using my points. The system is super glitchy now, even on desktop browser. I don't mind it showing points instead of a dollar amount. But if it could at least work, that would be great.

Before the update, the app was very convenient for me since I can track my order and points but now, since I can't scan my own receipt, I've been losing out on points. A lot of drive thru I've gone to, specially during busy hours, won't even scan my app cause they just want to keep the line going. Very disappointing. I know they're in a rush but it kind of takes away from customer service when they tell you, "sorry l, we're too busy right now. Not scanning anything."

Recently downloaded the app and there was no "free bowl" like mentioned. We also ordered for delivery and although the food was good, there were missing items. I contacted the restaurant and the gentleman was very helpful but the door dash guy they used was not. He said he would go back and get the rest of our order but never came back. He did take our tip money though. Very dissapointed. Definitely getting rid of the app.

The app has driven me nuts. It's had issues in the past and that doesn't seem to stop them from releasing it with even more. Now you can't scan receipts anymore, and you can't use any promos. They say you can use them in person or during checkout in the app. But you make your way thru checkout and it never offers you an option. Go to the promo screen and it tells you to use it during checkout. Then you try to checkout and it says error validating basket. I gave up & ate elsewhere.

Can't close it except by killing it. Also, if you redeem a reward using the app and it records it in your history, it should also record the order that it was redeemed and you get credit for that. It's easy to forget to also scan your account code. Should also allow your way to add a receipt after the fact in case you forget to scan the code. The store people won't do anything about helping you out that way.

No autofill immediately makes this app not worth it. In this day and age, filling everything out is tedious and their system refuses to cooperate in any way. Autofill is actively locked out. I also tried resetting my password. After waiting literal hours, I finally got the email and reset my password but would you look at that, it didn't work. It kept saying it was incorrect so I've just given up at this point. The mobile website sucks, the app sucks, and the account management system sucks.

Usually this app doesn't have any issues but lately after the latest update, rewards and offers no longer works. When you try to add a reward or offer to cart before ordering it only gives you the option to redeem in store, if you try to add a reward or offer at the end when you're about to check out it tells you that you need add the reward or offer to cart at the beginning. It ends up being an endless loop and you can't get out of it so you just end up ordering everything for regular price.

I had an issue with the app in Feb. 2024 when I tried to redeem a $5 off reward, but the app glitched, and I lost my reward. I complained on the website and after a few days the issue was resolved. Kudos to whoever corrected that. That's the only issue with this app I've ever had of any kind. Hopefully the other similar recent reward issues that I haven't seen yet get resolved as well. I always order through the app and not the counter so it's all nicely integrated, and no receipts to scan.
