Easy to set up, fantastic to manage, and only takes as long as it needs to switch from Google Photos.

currently I'm very satisfied. only fear i have is when i buy new phone and reinstall app there, will all photos be there also, cause in the past i had issues like that with other storage apps, files would disappear. atm everything good.

Finally a photo storage platform where I get to control my own data! Amazon, Google, Facebook all recently changed their Terms of Service to start doing AI training on your photos or any other use case they see fit.

came here because Nextcloud memories didn't quite cut it. Does everything that I was hoping for. I especially like the face recognition - keeping Fotos doesn't make sense without that for me, so yeah, worth a few bucks. Please stay FOSS :)

Mobile app is definitely much more fleshed out than the web/desktop, however everything is happily usable and I find no real issues, this is a great alternative to being data farmed.

There's no "stop syncing" option anywhere?! I changed the name of a backed up album on my phone and Ente started backing up thousands of photos creating duplicates of every single one. What an oversight. So frustrating. Also, why shared albums don't show up on album tab? Or why can't they be added there? Full of other minor bugs make this a bit hard to recommend tbh.

Backing up large amounts of photo/video memories, scrolling through them, and organizing them (deleting duplicates etc), are all better experiences than on Google Photos. The company also respects their users and employees far more, they care about user privacy, and your data is completely encrypted. 10/10

The performance of the application has significantly declined, leading to a slow, unresponsive, and uncomfortable user experience, even during basic scrolling tasks. This issue is particularly evident when attempting to scroll through the album or search for an album to add photos. Notably, this problem is not present in version 1.1.0, necessitating the use of older versions, such as 1.1.0, to ensure smooth functionality. My device model is x6870. I do request that this issue be addressed soon.

One of the open source App for photos . Ente Photos is one of the best privacy-focused photo storage apps — fast, secure, and beautifully designed. Please consider increasing free storage to 15 GB and introducing student-friendly pricing. Also, it would be amazing if Ente could expand in the future with email and password manager services to complete the privacy ecosystem.

It keeps getting better and better, when I first used it there was a decent amount of things missing and decryption on videos was slow but that has mostly changed, if you want to get away from Google photos this is a great option (suggestion) add more customization for editing photos like Google photos has with the adjust button, like contrast, sharpen, white point, highlights, shadows, black point, saturation etc This would make me more confident in recommending this to other people.

It is an excellent alternative to Google Photos, and even better , I love that it can display description of pictures, set cover photos, and have a desktop pc app, I also like all the security and privacy options, and maybe in the future I will pay for a suscription. I only would like that photos thumbnails can displayed not cropped, just like Google Photos does, and that I can choose if I want to display local folders, because I am not interested in backups.

Ente is great. If you don't want to self-host, backup your Photos in the Cloud but avoid Google this is the app to go. It's very reliable and fast. Just don't expect a crazy photo editor, it's rather basic and I use other apps for editing. But albums and sharing capabilities are top notch. 🦆

Great but needs to think about 1 very serious thing: safety. I am a paid member and Love Ente, over all. that said- the fact that you cannot remove Exif data and it is now pushing you to location share too (via map etc) is REALLY uncomfortable. It seems to me to be at odds with their vision. To have End to End encryption (cyber safe) but then be SO overexposing with location/Exif. This is not only "not ok" its straight up dangerous! Please rethink this & let us turn it off!

the absolute best private gallery app I've ever seen. I can't believe how convenient it is and how much thought out it is. every niche feature I hoped would be in an app was in this app. one simple thing is that I just hope it was smoother. because it is very slow and choppy for me. scrolling is very slow, and putting something into an album is very choppy like 5 frames per second. I wish you could fix this

This is a fantastic app and service, and it's a very competent Google Photos replacement. I do miss some features from Google Photos, like more editing tools and features, but I'm sure more are coming to Ente in the future. I'm currently on the free tier, but I'm planning to upgrade to a paid tier as soon as my Google Photos takeout is ready!

Great alternative to Google Photos and others. Still has some room to grow but in top 3 of photo apps that are privacy centric. Ente is the easiest and if under 10GB, can't be beat. The other one I would recommend if non tech savvy if cryt.ee but that one does great job but also offers more functions. Pay more and more complex than just photo gallery, I recommend both, always have a backup. Nextcloud is 3rd alternate but even once configured, does not have great search functionality.

Moved 60k pics from Google Photos to this. 1) The Memories function, one of the main reasons I chose Ente to replace Google, isn't smooth. Sometimes I'll look at a year's memories partially or all the way through, and when I go to another year, it's like I didn't look at the first year, because it starts at the same point it started at the first time, and I have to swipe through all the photos again to see "new" ones. 2) The setup process should recommend enabling AI during uploads to expedite

It works OK but I have a number of issues. I dislike the icon so much I won't have it on my home screen. Superficial I know but  I was hoping to use it as a curated photo collection rather than auto backup all photos. if I try to share the photo with ente it tries to force me to choose an album, I can't just leave it as uncategorised. I could create an "Inbox" album but I don't really want to.

So far I love Ente. It has a HIGH amount of free storage, but also has plans for more storage. I love that when I press the delete button, it lets me choose if I want to delete just from my device and only save to Ente, or delete from both. My only issue (which could be user error) is when trying to crop images. Cropping vertically (up/down) doesn't immediately work and pressing the corner borders wants to make it crop horizontally (left to right). Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
