Too bad about the update. This was my favorite Bible app, but the navigation is almost impossible to figure out. Apparently one now has to scroll to the first chapter to change books, and additionally there is no easy accessible cross reference ability either. I'm not sure what the developers think is better but it reminds me of the Apple version, but much worse somehow. This app used to have a 4.9 satisfaction rating. I am uninstalling after 6 years of very pleasing use.

I miss the old version. All this subscription stuff is absolutely unnecessary. There's also really no need for the music thing either. Like, before you could listen to Kristyn Getty's voice-over on the Bible for free, but now it's locked behind a subscription, along with all the new voices. Why? This is not something I can wrap my head around, and it makes me really frustrated this is what people resort to just to gain more money. Also, it's now impossible to listen with Cellular service. :(

Always a good user experience. I like the ease of use of this bible app's references. Although not my version of preference it is a good word for word version. It is a good go to comparison bible. Thamks Crossway! This was as of January 2019. It is now January of 2020, and I will say that the new version of this app has only one improvement, which is the ability to make it red letter text. Other than that it is most definitely not an improvement!

Liked the older version, much, much better. This new version is much harder to navigate around. The functionality, and usability has gone way down. These features are what defines an app's ability to attract and keep users. I've had this app for several years, but I'll be looking for another and deinstalling this one. :-(

I don't like anything about this new version! The app was my favorite. Now it is not anything as it was. I have vision problems and the ESV at top left in the heading is so faint it is almost invisible. Please just return to us the version we had. It was readable, navigation was almost perfect. I liked everything and it was my first choice over all other bible apps because it was so user friendly. Pretty is as pretty does! This app doesn't. I did not pick this app for "pretty"!

Had to remove some stars to hopefully get attention to the fact that this new version no longer remembers my position within a chapter. I used this app for a quite a few years on different devices and it always remembered my position. But now it always reverts back to the beginning of the chapter and I have to scroll down and figure out where I left off.

One of the best Bible apps on mobile. Easy and intuitive to use, great audio options (including voices and music). Another thing is the selection of study bibles, plans, and audio playlists. I personally don't use any of the "premium" content, but it can be useful to some, and it's good that it's available so conveniently. One thing I wish could be implemented is a side scrolling option, so that I can "turn" pages rather than scroll down. All in all it's a good app, highly recommended.

Android version is less friendly. It doesn't always save progress in your reading plan, you have to scroll through every day starting from Jan 1 every time you open your reading plan, you can only read one passage of your daily reading at a time instead of being able to scroll through and read the next passage right after, and the listen function doesn't work.

The base app without a subscription is an easy 4 star for me. When we get to the paid subscription is where this app is a little lacking. Granted I'm in the free trial right now, but the resources I really wanted with it were the new and old testimate concordance. They won't load, I've waited for about 30 min and nothing. And when I scroll down in the library I'm unable to scroll back up. Other than that really enjoy what the subscription has to offer especially the knowing the bible series.

The "scroll text with audio" stoping working with the latest update. Otherwise it would totally be a 5. But that is why I use this app. (This was 2 star.) I literally had to uninstall and re-install. I also had to create a new account. Set the same settings and try again. That shouldn't be necessary. (This is why it's still just 4 star.)

I stuck around for awhile after you did the update thinking you could finally start improving it more. It seems to have so little work done to it and there is so many glitches. When you are listening to a chapter it will cut off in the middle and skip to the next. I never does the auto scroll like it says it would. I don't even know why you updated more like downgraded it. If you fix it I'm willing to come back I'm just to annoyed at how little progress has been made on it.

The option to highlight verses from the pop-up dialog stopped working properly. Before the pop-up is closed, the change can be seen behind the pop-up. But, once the pop-up is closed, the change is not displayed. To get the view updated from a change to highlighting, you must close the app or exit the browsing mode by starting a search or something else so that when you return to browsing, it will display the changed highlighting. 🫤

I really love this app and it's features but 2 minor things that are broken with the last update. The scroll while audio reading stopped tracking and my phone shuts it's display off based on my set timer if I am playing the audio reading as if the app is not registered as in use. This last one will; after a short period, actually then pause the audio and require me to unlock my phone and start the audio up again. Small things but over all I have thougroughly enjoyed this app!

My only "complaint", and it's barely significant, just an annoyance really, is that when doing the Bible in a year "plan", the darn chapters keep unchecking themselves after reading. After I've read a thing, I just want it to advance properly, so I don't get lost in my progress. When I open the plan every day, I just want it to be on the next day that I need to read.

Unfortunately, this app has gotten consistently worse. Skips verses while the audio is playing. Constantly repeats chapters as you are listening through a whole book. This app has been doing this for the last two years. The quality of the app experience just keeps getting worse. Seems to me they are spending too much money on advertising and trying to sell books rather than giving people even a mediocre listening experience.

App was great when I downloaded it, but now it doesn't function well. The text doesn't move while listening and so it will lose my place and I can't read along without scrolling. Despite the app getting consistently worse, now they want you to pay for it! I really enjoyed listening to Kristin Getty and now she is part of their more premium package. Not really sure if the functions I enjoy would work if I paid for a premium package so I'm not going to bother.

Dark mode is pastel / washed out, bland, hard to read. Please include a high contrast option where the background is black and the text is white. Practically every other reading app has this, including Kindle. As of 7/31/24 update, this has not been addressed despite writing to crossway support asking them to add pure white text on black background. 5 stars when this is added.

This is a solid app of a very good translation. Thank you for the effort that produced it. However, a recent problem moving me to change my rating is the app's failure to allow simple navigation to Favorites by clicking them. This worked in earlier version but no longer does in the current one.

I love this app! It's the best one to listen to. However, and this is the reason for the 3 stars, I find that the reader seems to stutter at the beginning of many chapters and in John 8, two phrases in verse 34 and verse 44 are missing and there is dead air until the reader picks up again. This is highly annoying. Can you fix this?

Love this app and option to read the Bible! However, the bookmarks are not saving and this has been going on for months. Plus, when I highlight, the highlight id removed when I touch the screen or go to highlight the next or so verse. Im very grateful for these options as it saves me a lot. I especially love that I can take notes here on the go. I love that. It's annoying because I want to save all my highlights and know what I've read. But otherwise love this and great job!! Absolutely love it!
