while the website is great, the app is really lacking. The barcode scanner does not work, and there is no way to add barcodes to items that are already in the database for others if they scan the item. I also think it would be nice if you could flag certain ingredients that you want to avoid especially (example for known allergies).

I was using the Browse tab in the app, and it was going great until it wasn't. Halfway through the categories, nothing shows when I click into the subcategories. Also, the search feature doesn't work. I typed in Seventh Generation, which is a known EWG brand, and it said no results. Then I tried typing toilet bowl cleaner, and again, it said no results were found. VERY disappointing and frustrating to use.

This app is useless. It doesn't recognize the most common items being sold. For example I scanned three products in Hollister ( parfum, spray and body lotion). None of them was in the database! Same issue in Target when I scanned multiple food items. I tried a different approach. Looked up a safe product with low score and tried to buy it in the local stores and online( Amazon). Impossible! The idea behind this app is great but unfortunately it doesn't work in real life.

The product intent is great. The challenge is finding products. The filter options should include manufacturer and product. And once you created a search and you reviewed the product you should be able to back to the search list. Needing to start the search and browse through the list again is time consuming and tedious. The information on the selected product is very revealing. Keep evolving. 😉

Love the purpose behind the app and non bias . Scanning issues. But when I type in the name I find the product. Also 2 products of the same but have different ratings. This is odd but could be bc of size. Good App just wish had more products. There is a way to submit/recommend products for test, which is great. Hopefully the list will increase 🙂

I LOVE the information. However, the search function needs a huge upgrade. When you put a product type or brand in the search field then select one of the items to look closer or to bookmark/save, you are unable to go back to the search results. You have to start over. Every. Single. Time. So, looking for different sunscreens...face, waterproof for beach, everyday...and saving the products I like to a list takes for freaking ever. I'm searching for clean makeup and it's so frustrating.

I love the EWG organization and what it does, and I use the app as best I can to find greener and cleaner products. However, the app needs much improvement to be not only useful but EASY to use. For example, I'm searching for dish soap, I get a number of results, review the results, and save them for later. When I tap out of the details screen, I expect to go back to search results, but I'm taken back to the search screen where I have to start all over again. Engage a UX team to help you!

Your data isn't accurate, the % nutritional value and the mg of the listed mineral were reversed. All of the values of the item I was looking at were backwards in this way, I know this because I was looking at the physical box with nutrition facts on it while comparing it to your app. This makes me think all of the data used to calculate your "scores" is questionable at best, which sucks because the concept behind this app is amazing and could potentially be an excellent tool.

Android mobile version.1) Lists feature doesn't work. I create a list, type the name, and hit enter/ create. Notification pops up saying "List Created". No list appears, and the window still says "You have no lists". Tried to close and reopen, updated app, and uninstalled and reinstalled it. I made sure I'm signed in. Still no lists. 2) In search results, you click into an item to review details, then it takes to back to the top, instead of where you left off! SO frustrating.

I want to like this app, I really do, but there are some serious problems. When you scan an item and it fails to find something, you can easily scan something again. But when viewing results, there should be a quick save button and a quick scan a new item button instead of going back. This is a horrible UI/UX issue. In addition, it seems like they just grep nutrition information and do not properly parse it before posting. The label information is backwards on their site. Misleading as hell.

Messed up basic search functionality. When you search something.. like moisturizer. A list of products gets displayed. Once you click on a product and you ll be taken to checkout details of it. And if you press back button from phone navigation menu or the x that appears on top left on screen from product page. Neither option take you to the results page. You be taken back to new search page where you have to type moisturizer again and get tye results and select the next one in list.

I really appreciate this app since I can make informed choices about what I put on or in my body. However, creating lists seems to be bugged. Whenever I create one, it disappears immediately. If that can be fixed, this app would be 5 stars for me. The ability to keep track of certain items is so important.

There are several issues with this app. Even if you have confidence in the score, which I do not because you can have the same product with multiple scores, the app itself is not user-friendly. When I type in a product to search, it constantly switches the category to food so no product is available. Fixing the product search process would at least make it easier to use.

This app has multiple problems. 1. After searching for any product, the app resets. It doesn't continue where u left off. For instance if u search "deodorant", from the list that populates u choose say "Secret", then when u go back to the original list it disappears & you have to retype "deodorant" again to search for said list. Very annoying!! Please fix!! 2. Lost everything on my list. I had over 20 items on there. When I logged on today, completely empty. Uninstalling

This app is EXTREMELY HELPFUL for someone trying to reduce toxins. But, I can't create lists. It will say the list has been created, but it hasn't. I have to keep a list for myself in a separate app. Also, when you search for an item, after viewing one, you hit the X, it takes you back to the search page, not your search results. Not the end of the world for either, but these features would be nice. But the main purpose of the app is AMAZING!

This app's functionality is horrible. Every time I do a search, then click on an item to look at it, then go back, my search results disappear and I have to search again. Or if I minimize the app to search for a product on Amazon for example, then go back to EWG app, my search results disappear. Very bad programming. Also, I have tried saving things to a list and it always says "failed to save to list." There should be a way to save items to a list from the search results page as well.

Can't make lists. No matter how many times it says I've made a list, the list doesn't exist (still an issue as of 7/2/24). As of 7/2/24- now when I search something, get results, click on an item, and try to go back to results, I have to redo the search all over again! I do a search, get results, and switch to a different app for a second? Results are gone then too. Having to redo the seach over and over is exhausting!
