New to the ukulele, and it has been very easy to learn. I've progressed to level 4 in a couple weeks. I've also started the guitar path as well. My only complaint is that during the lessons with longer songs the tab doesnt scroll or move up the screen so I have to stop in the middle of playing and scroll the screen and try to catch up. The practice mode of the song scrolls on it's own. I also wish you could open the full tab up and have the video audio keep playing, you can't. Just some ideas :)

Simply Incredible! I'm one of those guys who had a guitar, played 1-2x a week, and then threw it in the garage for a decade or longer. Wanted to pick it back up during quarantine, so I looked at a variety of apps. Fender Play is perfect if you are just beginning or know the basic chords, and will help you fine tune your skills and learn new ones. Only a week in and already playing songs and learning new skills I never thought I could do. Highly recommend!

Overall not great, not terrible. The lessons are short and to the point but not interactive, there is no feedback as to whether you are playing the right notes or on the right beat which is limiting to say the least. Also there is an annoying bug that needs to be fixed, if you click next from a video lesson to a practice section the app closes out and hangs, requiring you to kill and restart the app to recover. Frankly, I expected more from Fender on this. The tuner app is spot on though.

A very useful app to learn how to play guitar. Lessons are short but informative with practice exercises following lessons. Biggest problem I've run into with the app is that camera angles aren't always the best to show for finger placement on the fret board and without an actual instructor to make any corrections, I'm not sure if I'm starting/reinforcing bad habits or not. However, if you're like me and don't have a lot of free time to schedule an hour lesson with an teacher, it works great.

I really liked this app at first. You choose what instrument you're learning and what style of music you want to learn with. There are video lessons by skilled guitarists showing how to play, and practice exercises with a metronome. That's where my problem comes in. These exercise sections have a slider to indicate where you're to play notes. That slider does not move steadily with the metronome. It speeds up and slows down. Making it worse than useless, it's detrimental.

I really love the way the instructors get straight into songs. Nothing creates a feeling of satisfaction like accomplishing a goal and even a simple song on one string is a start. I like the lesson duration and the ability to go back and review as well as compare past progress with current ability. Whenever I feel like I'm not getting it I go back and do a self appraisal and no matter how minor the improvement I can hear and feel the difference, especially after nailing a riff.

while I'm trying guitar I'm not unfamiliar with playing music. Some of the lessons are a little slow, but it's easy to skip ahead past stuff I know. The exercises are working for me to find my way around my instrument. 2 complaints. One, I selected the "folk" option for genera, and at least as far as I looked, haven't seen anything I'd call folk music in their sample tunes. Second, while the "feed back" function is pretty useful in principal, I can barely hear the review, and often doesn't work

It's a fantastic app overall, and I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone that has the time and money to get an annual subscription, especially because that gives you 10% off ALL Fender gear (guitars, amps, etc.). The only thing that it could do better is have more adaptive lessons to the instrument you are playing. For example, I play an acoustic, and a lot of the rock course pertains to techniques that can only work (as intended) on electric. Other than that, this is the best thing I've found.

The app works well enough. The song selection seems to be updated regularly but for some reason when I try to search something, the app will delete a character after I type it. It happens constantly. I try to spell a word and it ends up to be about half the length and not even correct. Searching is a pain and you end up having to slowly type out each word and correct it after it deletes each character typed. Incredibly frustrating. This is the only app that does it as well...

The teaching aspects were great from the parts I was able to do. The app constantly crashes on me in the middle of lessons or when I go to switch to the next video. It also messed with my phone having the sounds of games, videos and more sound fuzzy, crackles and makes videos very choppy and as soon as i un installed this app everything else sounded and looked they way it is suppose to. I'm very sad I had to get rid of this app, if issues get fixed I'd be more than willing to download again

I've loved the progression so far. Ilove the visual motion paired w/ the music score and metronome. In the lesson stage, I missed the visual of progressing score, but found playing w/o the visual cue made me work harder. Also I'd like a paper version of what I've worked on. 1/30/22 Back at it. Glad to have evaluation feedback! Thx. However, the difficulty levels jump from painfully simple (minimalist riffs) to note-learning. Back to riffs add notes. Connect the dots.

Buggy app that needs a lot of user enhancements. Why on earth wouldn't you be able to flag a certain songs or lessons as favorites? Viewing tablature is a pain while watching lessons, it doesn't text wrap so you have to take your hands off the guitar and scroll manually every two or three bars. Feels like an alpha test app that you have to pay for. Why wouldnt they just put this up on YouTube Red? Scrolling through video glitches the app and you have to force restart the app and then restart the video you were 3min into over from the beginning. They are not kidding about high def video. I tried previewing lessons while on the train and within 30 mins I used 2.5 gb data. Would be really nice to predownload content or even have a low def streaming setting. I will be terminating my subscription during the free trial even though I did feel like I was making some progress with my playing, the app infrastructure just isn't ready.

Oooof. I have been using the website with my guitar running through a USB interface, but sprung for a Mustang GT 200 amp, and decided to check out the bluetooth feature. Downloaded the app, and wowzers....the lag alone is absolute insanity. It's like taking a lesson from a ventriloquist, and even the metronome during exercises is incapable of staying consistent. It's borderline unusable as is. Luckily, we still have the website because there is still a *lot* of work to go on this app.

I am having a great time using this app. My guitar has been hanging around for 20 years and I am finally getting around to knowing more than 4 cords. By clicking a lesson as a favorite, it is easy to go back to specific lessons. The mix of instructors are good and they are engaging. It is good to here the sounds of the various guitars used by the instructors. A couple things I would like to see is a "repeat on" option in the exercises, and in the skills tab a category of "warm up" exercises.

Not bad. Doesn't always sync the metronome and the tab great. The update seems to have made everything not work. Mark as complete doesn't work. The screen fades out after a few seconds unless you touch it. Didn't before. And my path seems to not go back to where I left off. 8/8/23 it is better now. Mark as complete is still silly. The check mark didn't work either. Nice though )

I really like this app. It's gotten me back in to practicing guitar after years being idle. The only reason I am taking a star off is because in practice mode, it does not scroll through through notes you are supposed to play. It stays on thr first line, so then I have to use my hand (which has a pick in it) to try to scroll down the screen (without knocking my phone over). This is a huge distraction, and there is no way a beginner like me can stay in time and focus while doing this.

I find the instructors annoying, especially the "catch phrases" they seemed to be required to use. There are no real skill tests. Also every single time I go to use the Tabs feature, I cause the app to hang up/refuse to load anything. Will likely end up canceling a few days in. It's too basic yet without built-in testing tools to make sure you're learning. I'll keep looking for something else.

Made it through the first session great until the end. As the last video I was going to watch for the night finished, the app decided to crash. I accidentally clicked the app open and it flashed twice, then said can not connect to path (I believe are the words.) Thinking it was weird I force stopped the app and opened it back to the same issue. Next step was a phone reset because I was determined to fix the issue but got the same result. Opened the app to look for support and ended up at "contact support." Guess what happened after I started typing up my issue? The app once again crashed. Using an up to date Samsung Galaxy S8 active. Very frustarting.

The lessons are easy to follow, well paced and I love the variety of instructors. However, just make sure there's no delay in audio playback if you're using Bluetooth to play through you amp. My timing was off until I switched to phone audio. One frustration though, the practice and feedback modes are hard to use on mobile. The text is too small and the screen doesn't adequately scroll. The inconsistent speed of the temp depending on the bar length is off putting.

great lesson. I really like the format and structure. It will really help me to learn the core of this song. I do wish there was a section, maybe even optional to level up and learn the solo as well. I know you dont want to intimidate new players; however, if there were a level up button to go into the solo instruction, that could be a separate lesson to link to. There is def enough material here to get any intermediate guitarist jamming with some bandmates. love it and keep jamming.
