Choppy and dropped audio in random places, overheats quickly, resource intensive and buggy. Most problems I've ever had in trying to record video. I have some footage now that I can't even use mainly due to damaged choppy audio. Never experienced so many problems like this before. This is garbage in my book, a total waste of time and money!!! And they're talking about forcing a switch to a subscription model? Please!!!

Doesnt work with Galaxy S22 Ultra... had high hopes but as usual with these types of apps, over promise and under deliver. Even when locked, the shutter speed, iso, white balance would all reset to default. The camera consistently had an error occur needing to set back to default, camera would display no output or a black screen 95% of the time and then an error would occur. With Filmic Labs off, still couldnt get 120fps out of the 1080p 8bit... always cause an error to occur. Poor quality

S22 Ultra/ Smooth 5 - I was unable to pick a tracking point, adjust the focus point (holding down the light button). But was able to adjust both the focus and zoom separately by using the wheel to adjust the focus then tapping on the phone screen where it says zoom and adjusting it with the wheel. Both can be adjusted by the wheel just not switched by the button, you have to tap them individually. But the loss of tracking ability was to much of a big deal to justify $14.99...

Ok.. this is a greaaat app and I am extremely excited to use it but, it is not fully compatible with the Pixel 3. Not only does it not let you film at 60fps, which for me personally does not matter, but upon downloading/uploading the videos onto a computer the files are sped up and distorted. No matter what I do the files are rendered useless which in hence renders the app useless. Support team told me it is a quicktime issue within google. Google or Filmic, pleeeeease fix!!

EDIT: I was able to download the legacy app through the filmic pro settings menu. I have a fully functional app again. A little convoluted, but glad I'm not being ripped off. Thanks! **I bought the pro version of this app a few years ago. They changed the available settings in the app and then created a subscription wall if you want to keep all of the settings you originally paid for. What an absolute scam.**

This software is generally not ready for pixel3 cameras. Compared to the stock android camera app, filmic pro footage is blurry/grainy, doesn't support 120fps (contrary to what is reported by filmic pro evaluator), and consistently crashes when connecting an osmo 2 gimbal. Additionally, the app consistently forgets the resolution/fps/hardware settings and requires reconfiguration every time I open it. I emailed the filmic support team and they responded very quickly, acknowledging that this is an issue with the pixel 3 camera module, but that there's nothing to be done about it right now.

** Updated, A year ago I purchased the service and all additional services. This year they updated the app automatically and want a subscription fee larger than the original purchase, "bait-and-switch like. They want $3/week to use the software. While I understand that the OLD version I purchased is still available the difference in price structure and subscription model between one version and the next is alarming. I no longer trust your company's pricing. Good software, marketing not so.

Still Buggy. The Zoom Dial in manual mode (below the focus dial) jumps or glitches on first drag to zoom. Sometimes the app just crashes for no reason. Also, sometimes the recordings are glitching or some parts of the video do not have audio. Can't fully trust this yet esp. for longer recordings. I'll update my rating accordingly. - S9+ user

Coming from iPhone. It was nice while it lasted. You used to be able to purchase it for $14.99, but of course those days are over. They switched to a subscription service and everyone is jumping ship, including me Edit: The developer responded and while i understand entirely that you need to make money, paying more per month than the original purchase price of the app is totally unacceptable. I would maybe pay 2-3, maaaybe 5 a month, but 3-5 a week is nonesense. 🤓🤓🤓

Hate subscription model. Before subscription, I had everything I thought I'd ever need already purchased. The first week, Legacy worked great. Had to wipe my phone clean to fix a technical problem that kept creeping up, now Legacy download doesn't work, there's actually an app in the app store that seems to only function to say that you need to download version 7 so that you can download the app you already have in your phone. Following the instructions gets you nowhere, as it's been removed.

I really like the app but unfortunately it randomly stops recording. So I can't use this app because it's not reliable. Also every time I stop recording the locked iso settings change so I have to readjust the settings every time. In addition, the presets doesn't save all of the settings, just basics: resolution and frame rate. It doesn't save WB, ISO, shutter and focus. I'm using Samsung S8, so maybe my phone is too old for this app.

They pretended that they would make the previous version available to those who paid for it (as Legacy), but left it broken and unable to work on the same phones that ran it before. I have no problem with the subscription-based model, $40 a year would be just fine with me IF THE PRODUCT WORKED; if they can't sell the new iteration of the product without making the old one unavailable to those who paid for it, I have no reason to trust them to competently maintain and improve the new one.

I like the stting and the colora and every thing that you can do with this app. The only problem that I have is the in my note 9 I haven't be able to recor more than 24 or 30 frames. It has an option of 120 and when I switch to that. The screen goes black. I wish I was able to record and more than just the 2 frame rates that I do cause I would lile to have some slow motion in my footage. I hope you take that in consideration

Clunky. There's all the controls you need, but no instruction on how to navigate the app. For someone new to video, this would be a major block to getting started, since this app is sworn by many content creators who got their start on phones. The nterface is horrible, and it's not easy to lock settings - it just seems like whenever I move something everything else decides it wants to move too. The new subscription model is BS too - $2 per week? Come on, that's too much.

For every useful feature, a basic standard feature is borderline useless. Take zooming for example: it's jaggedly busted. Pressing to zoom slightly has NO EFFECT. Pressing just a bit more makes an extreme crash zoom. There is no way to customize sensitivity. The controls are bad and the interface is not customizable. It's worse than free alternatives. For every useful niche feature, a basic standard feature which you really, really need will be borderline unusable.

First off: subscription service to access your own videos? $3 per /week/? No shot. Plus you have to pay more. This app is neat - has a lot of functionality and features. Interface is pretty good, considering how many features it has. But in the end it's still a phone camera. I'd rather spend the money on a real camera. If it weren't for the paywall I'd give it 5 stars. As it is? I won't even entertain using it. Extremely unfortunate decision on their part. Try Protake instead, or open camera.

The app is good on paper. I just downloaded today and for some reason I cant record at framerates higher than 60fps. Even when I downgrade the quality to the lowest bitrate and quality the option doesn't highlight. Also, when recording 60fps with 24fps as the standard, the playback footage is super fast. I thought that the footage is supposed to be slowed down. I'm confused...

I like that this app has a lot of features but I'm underwhelmed by the bugs and broken features that prevent me from being able to take advantage of them. I use a GS8 and the WB lock doesn't work, neither does the exposure lock. I haven't seen the value in the amount I spent to get the pro version yet, hopefully that changes. 4/26: I got married today ... And guess what? NONE of the video of the ceremony saved. Wanna know why? Because I gave this app a 2nd chance and once again it FAILED!

I want to love this app - it has tons of useful features, from LOG to gimbal integration and anamorphic lens compatibility. On my old phone (Verizon LG G5) it had issues crashing, which thankfully seem gone with my current device (Pixel 3 XL). But the main thing currently keeping me from rating this as 4 or even maybe 5 stars is that I can't set the mic default to my external (Rode VideoMicro). Every time I plug in the mic. Every time I exit and re-enter the app. Every time I even just unlock the phone, it defaults back to the built-in mic. It's incredibly inconvenient and annoying, especially as a daily vlogger that has to do this dozens of times a day, it becomes very repetitive and wasteful of my time - I've even missed several moments because I was too busy trying to fumble through my audio settings. It's such a shame to me that such a seemingly simple fix is giving me so much frustration at an otherwise amazing app.

I had already paid for the app. However, through a series of 15 emails to customer support, I was able to get my access back with no additional charges. I had to download "Filmic Legacy" not Filmic Pro and they gave me a code to log back in. Giving only 3 stars because of how much of a hassle it was for me to get my functioning app back. If they wanted to start charging customers for a new version, they should have made the switch much easier for the existing paid customers.
