The article slider, where several are displayed horizontally and user swipes/slides to see next/previous one, is unstable, moves, wobbles.

Overall, a nice app. The main product, Financial Times, itself has high quality of news reports, analyses, and opinion pieces. The app banks upon this quality, though it fails to provide any intuitive experience on mobile. To begin with, consider these improvements: 1. Allow pinning a search term. For instance, if I want to track everything about "ChatGPT", I should be able to pin this search term in the menu bar. 2. Tailor the app to selected region/ topics of interest selected by user.

What I love about the FT app is that it automatically downloads the day's articles including images for offline viewing. Great if you're flying.

Very good and fast app. Content impeccable. Portfolio view could be a bit mobile friendly. It feels designed for the desktop.

It's ok just annoyingly if I finish a phone call it starts playing the last article (from start). Why can't I switch this off? Or it should happen only if I was actively listening to FT app and a call interrupted my listening.

Generally good app experience pairs well with paper. I bought a physical subscription to spend more time off my phone and the quality of the reporting is very, very good. I appreciate a strong focus on facts, material conditions, and relevant historical context. FT really feels like an organization that trusts readers to come to their own conclusions without trying to push the common, easy, often overly simplistic narratives in the rest of news today.

I love the FT. It's a breath of fresh air. I subscribed to the wall street journal, but the app didn't work so I cancelled it, and decided to get my business news from FT. In my opinion, this news paper has no bias. I can't find the usually slant that you receive from American news. The app works fine for me. I haven't experienced any issues (Knock on wood), and I like the brownish hue. It's easy on the eyes. Great content. Very thorough. As long as the app keep working, I will be a subscriber.

Edit: I still like the app and the news content is great, but they make it really hard to cancel a subscription. Most services make this the click of the button but FT burries the information in an overly complicated process. Original Review: Great clear news. No clickbait style headlines. Advertisements are clearly labeled as such.

Used to be the best app until recent change!!! Slick compact design no distraction, quick look allowes u get all info from the page. Now all of this gone with new tile page format with oversized headlines, useless images, misformatted pages with text that dont fit the screen, scroll gets u an empy page...I sent screenshots to suport but have not heard anything. Please change it back or allow compact mode to be enabled.

Now that the black screen bug seems to have been finally fixed, another one appeared: the app gets stuck on an old page i.e. when we click on the icon signalling a new title, we are taken to the wrong news, to a previous story. Also very often I have the silent notification: FT downloading latest stories. And this goes on and on for hours. Yes it seems to have been fixed now

Great Application! The layout is easy to use and understand. The articles are easy to read with the app. The downsides are (1) the ads, which really disrupt the reading experience and (2) a weird "downloading stories" notification even though I have that option turned off. Overall good app for FT.

Easy to use. I click on it and I find the news that interest me. Financial Times is becoming my favorite newspaper. (It's such a passe term "newspaper"). I know I am supposed to talk about this app. It works wonderfully for me. What makes my experience great is the content. I find that the journalists at FT do a more in depth research than journalists at other organization. And they pay attention to those "obscure" facts that could have tremendous consequences.

1. Reading articles in the multi-tasking windows option on Android is impossible. Every time you leave the page, after 15-30 seconds, you have to scroll down to where you were before. It's frustrating because this option is meant to be helpful for non-English subscribers who need to find translations and read articles simultaneously. 2. I enabled notifications and selected topics for my FT instant alerts, but I receive notifications on random topics every day. I love FT, but this is insane.

Financial Times (FT) is a terrific news app. It's the best news app Ive ever used. Kudos! FT is one of the best news organizations in the world. Reading FT in the app is sublime. The app has dark mode support, but I prefer the default sepia background which is easy on the eyes. Navigation within the app is intuitive. The app has many customization settings. Personalizing news content via "MyFT" provides a curated, personal news section the user can finetune granularly or broadly.

The functionality of the app software is mostly just fine. However, I can't save articles to my predetermined categories. Also, the editorial board seems to have shifted over the past few years. The FT used to be a great source of unbiased news, but now the writers' opinions aren't even hidden anymore.

Much improved. Good interface and some intriguing beta features like read-aloud, where the app reads the article in a realistic sounding voice. Amazing journalism remains true. Old review: Reading interrupted by many seconds of splash screen wherever you switch back to it. Often I am taken back to the home page when in the middle of an article. This disrupts the flow and marrs the amazing journalism

Update (2/15/21): Still having blackout issues with the app. Love FT but not worth paying this much money for a simple glitch. :-( I am also experiencing the blacked out screen when I open the app. I have tried everything and it's happening about once every 3rd time I open it. Amazing news reporting and opinions. Love FT so much I actually saved to subscribe. It's not cheap! I really want premium but ouch $$$.

Pros: The color scheme is gentle on the eyes. Cons: I'm a subscriber but when I click on FT links shared with me, they will often open in a web window that says I must subscribe before I can access the article. Separately, the app also has a habit of logging me off inexplicably. Comments can be very slow to load. The search function seems to provide a random smattering of result instead of providing all applicable results for the search terms used.

This is a typical mediocre web app with poor Android integration. It's clunky, doesn't sync across devices, and works badly when network coverage is slow (since it's fundamentally a web app and doesn't cache things offline effectively); there is an offline mode, but it's buggy. That said, it's not a disaster relative to other apps of its type, and really the value is the content, not the crappy app.

The journalism is timely, insightful, and important, especially for investors and analysts. They also offer a student discount, which is always nice. The problem is that discount is for the digital subscription---which would be fine had it been more readily apparently that there's not only a (far more expensive) premium tier above that, but there's no such discount for the premium tier. I only realized this upon spotting here and there (unreadable) articles available only to premium subscribers.
